  Warframes – Bio-mechanical suits designed to harness and channel Void energy. In this era, only primitive prototypes exist, known as protoframes. These are crude amalgamations of living tissue, metal, and control systems, bonded through Helminth strain grafting.

  Protoframes – Early experimental armor constructs developed during the Neo era. Not sentient or independently controlled, these are forcibly grafted onto subjects to enhance strength, endurance, and survivability.

  Cephalons – Artificial intelligences derived from human consciousness, created through a traumatic mind-extraction process. Used to oversee Orokin systems, ships, and facilities.

  Helminth Strain – A biotech culture used for deep tissue integration and augmentation. Originally designed to synchronize organic tissue with implants and armor. It is the precursor to the Infestation.

  Infestation – A techno-organic plague capable of consuming and merging living organisms with synthetic matter. Uncontrolled offshoots of the Helminth strain will eventually lead to this corrupted force.

  Training Implants – Neural-muscular programming tools installed in Dax soldiers and test subjects. These devices overwrite instinct, suppress rebellion, and enhance combat efficiency.

  Continuity – The Orokin process of immortality through transference of consciousness from one body to another. Requires Kuva and intricate neural imprinting.

  Kuva – A red, transdimensional biocatalyst used for memory transference, genetic manipulation, and Continuity. Incredibly rare and deeply tied to the Orokin’s secrets of immortality.

  == EMPIRE, PEOPLE, AND POLITICS ==

  The Orokin Empire – A godlike civilization that dominates the Origin System with biotech, temporal manipulation, and immortal rule. The Orokin believe themselves eternal and divine. Their decadence and ambition form the backdrop of the novel.

  Executors – Ruling elite of the Orokin. Each represents a core philosophical ideal and governs a domain of imperial authority. Ballas is one such Executor, aligned with genetic science and augmentation. Commonly known under the moniker, The council of Seven.

  House Entrati – A powerful, reclusive Orokin lineage focused on forbidden sciences, especially Void alchemy. Currently in isolation, they are the only family known to be exploring the Void's potential.

  Albrecht Entrati – Patriarch of House Entrati. A genius and madman engaged in dangerous Void experiments. His work will lay the foundation for future disasters and revelations.

  Dax – Genetically engineered soldiers bred for obedience and combat perfection. Bound by code and implanted loyalty, they serve the Executors without question. The protagonist awakens in the body of a Dax in training.

  Subject 17-0X-Helminth – Experimental designation of the protagonist’s new body. Enrolled in protoframe trials under Ballas’s oversight.

  Ballas – An Executor and chief geneticist responsible for many key technologies. Ambitious and calculating. Begins to suspect the significance of the protagonist’s condition and seeks insight from the Entrati.

  == VOID AND COSMIC FORCES ==

  The Void – A sentient, unknowable extradimensional realm. Capable of bending space, time, and causality. In this novel, it is a conscious, capricious entity that takes interest in the protagonist as a curiosity.

  Voidlight – A pale shimmer under the protagonist’s skin, appearing during moments of stress. Possibly a visual expression of Void-aligned energy within biological tissue.

  Void Alchemy – Entrati method of interfacing with the Void through rituals, chemicals, and synthetic-organic conduits. Highly unstable and considered dangerous.

  Temporal Displacement – The process by which the protagonist is cast into the past. Caused by a pact with the Void, who folds space-time to fulfill a cosmic whim.

  Oscillation Markers – Aberrant biological signatures seen in the protagonist's physiology. Genetic patterns not matching any known lineage. Ballas notes these as a unique phenomenon.

  == SETTING, LOCATIONS, AND EVENTS ==

  Neo Era – A period of early Orokin expansion. Colonies are being established across the system, protoframes are being developed, and the Empire has not yet reached its full decadence. Void knowledge is rare, restricted to the Entrati.

  Axi Era – Follows the Neo era. Peak of Orokin power. The Zariman expedition, full Warframe deployment, and large-scale Continuity rituals define this era.

  Skel Terminus – Remote military outpost and experimental site. Used to train Dax and test early biotech applications like Helminth bonding and protoframes.

  Lua Archives – A secretive databank hidden on Earth’s moon. Used by Executors to store anomalous or controversial research outside public record.

  Solar Rails – The early means of interplanetary travel and expansion. Under development during the Neo Era, not yet fully operational or efficient.

  Seed Packet – A compact encrypted transmission designed to bypass isolationist firewalls. Used by Ballas to attempt communication with the Entrati.

  == OTHER TERMS ==

  Zariman – A future project in Orokin history. A vessel designed for deep Void exploration. In this era, it is not even conceptualized yet.

  Deimos Incident – A catastrophic failure of Entrati experiments that will eventually occur in the Axi Era, leading to mass exposure to the Void and the emergence of Infestation as a galactic threat.
