Tales of Ian & God
Prologue
Ian was a curious little fellow. He liked to ask his father lots of questions about God,
Perfect. Now that we've made a perfect start it can only degrade from here. God is perfect, everything after him, is only semiperfect. Why didn't God make everything and everyone perfect? You say? He did. What do you mean I'm perfect, I hear you chide. These perceived flaws and imperfections that you say are evidence of flaws in God's work, they are not real. They are imaginary. Unfortunately for God, ever since he came into being, his creations have often came back to him wanting to be remade or transformed into something else. Doing so would be God admitting he had made a mistake when he did not. So each time he would ask them about the perceived flaw and asked them to pray to thee a angels. God's angels are all imperfect, they are not omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent as he is, and they are not immutable as he is. They can try to get close to God but those angels with such an addiction are burned up by his perfect light. For unfortunately, an imperfect thing cannot touch a perfect thing without dying. Each and every time God rebirths the angels who flew to close to him, and they, in time, come to serve him. He realises that they need a desire beyond the desire to be with him a and creates a new generation with the desire to create. These are the first Archangels and they spawn armies of angels around themselves who have the desire to help and to serve. They do not live forever, they live their entire lives with the desire to touch a god that they cannot touch. They learn to leave his light and go out into his world to do his bidding, They are not perfect, but they are great and holy beings. Some of these beings struggle to accept that they are not perfect, they continue to ask God to make them perfect, like him. God states that he has done all he can. This then leads to a challenge of God's authority. They ask God to make them perfect so that they can touch him. They do not realise that each of them is a piece of him, and that when he touches them, then that piece leaves them to return to him, causing them to die. God refuses to change them as in his eyes they are already perfect, but they refuse to accept his decision and a war for the heavens ensues.
Then when God creates man, in his likeness. He wants them to be whole and just. He creates them to be perfect in his eyes. But he has a challenger, and the demons, the fallen angels, have amassed a great number and they tempt Adam and Eve into disobeying God's law. This causes man to fall to sin and temptation and begins the war anew. God does not want to give up on his children, the fallen angels or the humans he has created. God after all, has an eternity to wait. He has love, truth and light to give to the world and to mankind, So he decided to wait and to send mankind away, out into the world, away from the place he had created for them. His angels do this and it is a sad day for God and for Mankind. But still God does not give up on mankind and promises to Save them.
Chapter 1 - Salvation
Ian was a sad and lonely soul, a downhearted boy who had become a broken-hearted man. He felt deserted by all of his friends, he felt unloved by his own family, and he felt he didn't have a place in the world. All the women he had loved had treated him badly and he had made mistakes himself. On top of this Ian found out that he had a disability which had been missed for most of his life, a disability in his brain. But actually, it wasn't one disability, it was more than one. It affected everything from his mental health to his social life and through to his ability to concentrate and accomplish ordinary tasks that others would find easy. On top of this, Ian was having other issues, he'd been suffering from severe mental health problems. Waking up at night having thoughts that he had to fight, trying to escape reality and escape this world that he hated him and that he now cursed. He didn't see a future for himself in which he could be happy and be looked back at all the struggles and felt he had been let down, by his parents, by his friends, by himself and potentially even by God. Ian reached out again and again to his fellow man, asking for support and for help but they closed all doors to him and ignored his desperate pleas and cries for help, they didn't listen to him, and they didn't care. Things got worse and pressures mounted. Then one day, Ian just snapped. "I was promised a life in God's kingdom and country, with God's people! Is this how you treat people?" he asked. And with that a connection and a wish was made.

God had been watching Ian for some time, he saw his struggles and his plight and was waiting to offer him salvation. But the truth is, being billions of years old and having witnessed so many human lives, God was getting a little bored of doing the same things over and over again. His Son had been to Earth and the salvation of the human race was taking its course even as some turned away from him. God loved Ian with an infinite amount of love, but even more than that, he knew his heart. He had had an angel watching over him for some time and it didn't seem that things were likely to get any better. The boy needs an escape, not a holiday or a camping trip or a video game, that won't do. But then God already knew what he wanted to do and felt that this might just be the ticket. Of all the Ian's in all the worlds, all the echoes of this young man, God felt that this one needed him right now the most. His heart felt the righteous love of the saviour, as he called to one of his most powerful servants. "Ananniel," he called. "Yes my Lord?". "He loves you but he doesn't know you are there?" "That's correct my Lord, he loves the rain and believes in Angels. But he doesn't know it's because of me". "Hmm, we'll have to do something about this affliction," said God. "He cannot go on like this my Lord, he is in too much pain", said the angel with sorrow and love. "Do you think you could go and collect him?" asked God. "It shall be done my Lord." And she whisked away to the mortal plane. "Don't scare him too much". And God smiled inside himself as the Angel left.
Chapter 2 -Travel
The clouds seemed to be following Ian around, growing darker s his mood grew more solemn. The rain threatened and the wind bore the cold of autumn as it ran away the last of the summer warmth, A time for reflection and change. The trees grew red and firey as they too fought the changing of the seasons. Autumn was his favourite season, he didn't like summer much and hadn't especially the last couple of years. Sunlight seemed too bright and overpowering and it was always too hot. Inside he carried the weight of fear and trauma. He didn't think he was strong enough to last the coming winter after what had come before, but he hadn't told anyone. He had communicated his struggles but nobody seemed to hear what he was saying. It was as if the words that left his mouth did not reach the hearts of those he reached out to. The crisis lines all bemoaned his frequent cries for help The GPs all delayed, the emergency room too would offer no support. As Ian walked down the street he felt a presence overhead. It was as if the very clouds were alive and the winds seemed to be speaking in a soft whisper. Rain began to teem down around him, it was an all-encompassing rain that drenched the whole Earth and blinded Ian from the world. He suddenly realised as he walked that the world around him seemed to dim as if it was flickering out. That was when he saw a shape in the rain. It was both human and none human at once, taking a friendly form, it seemed to be made of rain. "Young man," came a soothing whisper. Ian was petrified, he carried on walking and thought it was just the wind. The cars and the buildings on the street had faded as the rain surrounded him, he couldn't see where he was going. The rain became even heavier still and seemed as if a waterfall was falling all around him. "Stay still mortal, I am not your enemy", commanded a voice from the water. Ian thought of all the stories he had heard as a child, was this some kind of water nymph? "Are you a Greek goddess?" he asked. "Close, you've been watching Percy Jackson," and the water laughed a gurgling little laugh. It was cute and heavenly but also slightly menacing. "I am here to collect you," she said. "erm, what do you mean collect me?" he asked. "There is no time for questions, HE is waiting for you". The water reached out and touched him, it didn't feel wet but warm and comforting. It was like the subtle touch of a gentle lover and the warm embrace of an old friend. Lightning struck all around the circle of water and as Ian flinched, they began to sore skyward. The tunnel of water cocooned and monsooned around them. They shot skyward at a speed he never thought possibly and he felt the wet air woosh past him as the wind pushed his hair and even the skin of his face back with the force. "Trust me, I will not drop you", came the voice which was neither male nor female, Ian thought that it sounded slightly more female. "It's a bit late for that now!" he exclaimed as they were already far above the Earth. "You like rides and thrills!" said the strange being. It felt strange to be able to speak, it was as if they were moving and stationary at the same time. As if the world was moving around them but they themselves were in a stasis field. "Just call it magic," said the being.
It seemed to take days but then it also seemed to take no time at all and they stepped out onto steps of the clearest white marble he had ever seen. "I have brought you to the bottom of the steps, you must climb alone", said the being. "Wait, who are you?" he asked.
"A servant", came the response bluntly. The air seemed to flicker and then the being was gone. If this was just a servant but they had this much power, who was he going to meet? He stopped in thought for a moment and then he felt he had an idea. He was scared as he looked up. The stairs seemed to reach into oblivion as he began to climb. He felt light at first, quite giddy from the transport here, and a little perturbed by the departure of the guide who had brought him here. It was fairly easy going despite the large steps he walked up. Down below he could not see the earth, it just seemed blank. While up above he could see nothing but stairs. As he walked his feet began to feel heavy and he began to sweat. It was as if the harder he walked the further away he got from the top. He pressed still, exerting himself as he lamented his lack of fitness and ability. The strange being that brought him here had been adamant it was this way. He stopped a moment to take a rest, just for a minute while he caught his breath.
