Tianling presses his index finger on Wang Fei's forehead, transferring the image of the person he wants her to look for: the little boy that Xing'er helped on their way here.
"Take Xing'er with you in cases there is danger. Bring him to me only if he agrees to come." He turns to Xing'er who has a mischievous smile painted on her lips. "And you, don't hurt mortals who are not a threat to you or Wang Wei. Protect her and the boy. Do you understand?"
"Yes!" she beams energetically. "I will protect Zhuren's disciple with my life if I have to."
Tianling's brow scrunch, but soften as he internally shakes his head at the little dragon's excitement. If her old master knew that she would be this happy being around mortals, would he have taken her to any of the lower realms?
Wang Fei clasps her fist in her other hand bowing. "I will get going, Shifu."
Tianling gives a light nod before turning away to walk over to the flat rock at the center of the cave.
As they leave, Wang Fei eyes her brother and lets a small smile out. "Stay here with Shifu."
Wang Wei nods firmly and then sits down against the west wall to watch his teacher who has already assumed a lotus position on the rock.
His body is still as chaotic as it was weeks ago despite healing most of the internal injuries. With the power of a god yet without the divine energy, his true level grows even more peculiar.
He has so much to do but does not know where to start. Now that he has cultivated the death flower to the first level, he can at least defend and attack any enemies. Thankfully, he does not need to deal with immortals at the moment and any small flies won't be worthy of his full power.
'For now, let me just focus on aligning the body and the soul.' He closes his eyes exhaling calmly to relax all his muscles as well as his meridians. This cave is full of spiritual energy that it is drawing directly from the world's core. It does not need any veins to move the energy from its center due to how small it is. He has decided to stay here for a while and learn something new or advance his technique.

When the two girls emerge from the library, they find themselves surrounded by thick darkness. "It must be late in the night. Time does pass faster on the outside," Xing'er marvels.
"As I said, the cave is full of mystery, but it saved us."

"How did they not find it?" Xing'er asks snapping her finger to make a floating ball of fire appear in front of them. "Are your enemies so weak?"
Wang Fei suddenly stops. Bloody scenes from that night blast into her mind. The horrors that spread through the mansion are still fresh in her mind. There is nothing weak about those monsters. And given how much time has passed, they must have grown even stronger by now.
"No. They're not weak. But the key to opening this place is in the Wang bloodline. Those horrible people just didn't know it and thought we perished in the massacre."
Xing'er comes to pat Wang Fei's shoulder. "It's okay now. Zhuren will take care of you two as he has taken care of me for hundreds of years."
Wang Fei's eyes expand in disbelief. "How...how old are you?"
Xing'er grins raising her index finger.
"One...?"
"One thousand, two hundred and forty-six years."
"Re...really?"
"I heard that a mortal who does not cultivate only lives for a hundred years. If you and your brother weren't living in that small world, you two would be dead by now."
Wang Fei lowers her eyes, a pang of shame forming in her chest. "They took everything away before we could save anything useful. Without resources and a teacher, we couldn't do anything."
"What are you sad about? Aren't you the first disciples of the divine lord?"
Wang Fei almost gasped upon hearing this. A divine lord? She meant, a god.
"Shi...Shifu is a g...go...god?" Wang Fei stutters feeling her insides tremble upon remembering hours earlier when she raised her sword at him. 'I was so stupid.'
"Come on. Let's go look for that boy." Xing'er takes Wang Fei's wrist and pulls her out of the dusty library.
She can remember the way back without any help. Her smell is unparalleled, especially in this world full of weak mortals.

TIANLING 'S POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The doors to the body's spiritual sea remain closed with a small gap that lets strands of divine energy sneak out. Even though I have been trying to make it open, I cannot force it lest I suffer a heavy backlash to my soul.
This body still hasn't accepted me fully. This is true from the important memories still locked.
While they're not of importance to me, I am curious why a god as powerful as he was fell. I will need to know his enemies so that we may never cross paths. Either I avoid everything altogether or cultivate to be stronger than he was.
I set the spiritual sea issue aside to focus on my technique.
With all fourteen meridians unlocked, which is three more than my last life, I open them up, allowing the energy from all around me to enter my body before directing it to my Dantian. There is nothing blocking its path, filling me with a soothing sensation that makes my Dantian tingle with delight as if I am eating my favorite foods to my fill.
A god's Dantian sure is different from an immortal's. All the energy going into it and yet it still craves for more.
It doesn't matter, this cave which is drawing the world's core's energy has a lot to give while I have a Dantian that is ready to receive.
If I were in my previous body, I might have exploded from the large flow of energy still going into my Dantian.
It cleanses any impurities in my meridians, leaving them feeling rejuvenated.
The more I continue to absorb, the more I can feel parts of my body slowly merge with my soul.
My domain sensing has improved to the third level while my death flower has bloomed a second petal. Truly, I am harvesting more than I thought I would when I can to see the Wang clan. If I'm not mistaken, their generals must have used this small world to cultivate while connecting with the core directly. It no males sense why the clan was successful throughout its existence.
Such a shame that they also fell due to the greed of their fellow humans.
My eyes open after settling all the qi back in my Dantian.
I see Wang Fei sleeping with his head sliding to his left side.
"Was I too boring?"
I get up and use ghost steps to get to him in half a heartbeat before he slides any further and hits the little bump sticking from the rocky wall.
I lift him up to lay him carefully on the futon I was sitting on.
He looks more troubled in his sleep than when awake. "You must defeat your inner demons little one," I whisper pressing a finger in his forehead to inject some of my qi that will help him relax.
