Prologue

  Prologue

Those who base their personality off their job are the blandest people of society, but jobs are required to be held to progress human advancements. This is no different for the progression of the multiverse. Outside of the star-lit universe lies a pitch-black void of nothingness. However, even in the lifeless void, there is a sliver of luminosity from a desolate office building. The structure is around three floors high and houses around five thousand employees who oversee the multiverse. On the third floor of the building is the overseer’s office, which is the area that houses The Creator who worked since the beginning of time. The Creator processes thousands of documents regarding the status of the multiverse. His office is very spacious and has many accommodations that serves as a workplace and a home. There is no day night cycles outside of the multiverse, but The Creator has adopted the mortal practice from civilizations that sprouted from the universes. Before the creation of the agency, The Creator kept everything in check by himself. As more and more universes were created, the overload of paperwork finally caught up to him. Although there are still thousands of documents that The Creator must go through daily by himself, it was nowhere near the workload it used to be. Although The Creator’s job is getting easier, his hate for the position stayed the same. Until one day he decided to go on a long vacation away from the emptiness of the void.

As The Creator climbs out of his bed early this morning, he calls for his secretary to bring him a cup of coffee. Despite plants not being able to grow out in the void, he was able to create something like coffee beans magically. The Creator gets dressed and heads out of his bedroom towards his office. His secretary hands him a cup of black coffee on the way.

“Have you found a good identity for me to take while on vacation?” The Creator asks.

“Yes, the individual lives in Universe 001, and he is a college student in his twenties, however he is on his death bed due to a recent car accident.” The secretary informed him.

“Well, I don’t know when I will return but you have been around this agency long enough for me to entrust you with everything.” The Creator tells the secretary. “And while I am gone, the fate of the multiverse is now in your hands.”

“I promise I won’t disappoint you, and I will do my best to keep the multiverse running!” The secretary said with a somber and yet enthusiastic tone. The Creator smiles and grabs a necklace from his desk, the necklace itself is made of a simple cloth string with a miniature sized sword the length of a human palm. The Creator puts on the necklace and turns to look at the circular device that the secretary handed him. It is the Soul Transponder which allows the user to jump to and takeover someone else’s body without causing harm. The Creator activates the device, and a blue light glows from the Soul Transponder. And the next thing he sees, is the white ceiling of a hospital room and warm sunlight shining through the windows onto his skin. A sudden headache hits The Creator, and he sees a wave of memory coming from the previous owner of this body. The Creator quickly goes through all his newfound memories and discovers the previous owner’s name is Ricardo Miller.

I suppose this is the name I should take on for right now. The Creator thought to himself. From now on, I am no longer the god of everything, I am just a college student and my name is Ricardo.

Ricardo gets off the bed, trying to get used to his new body. He looks out the window and sees people coming to and from the hospital, traffic moving through the roads and the tree branches wave to the motion of the wind. Ricardo doesn’t remember when the last time he walked on a planet so full of life was. He then reminds himself to test whether his powers are still working, he proceeds to pick up a glass from a small table next to his bed with telekinesis, The glass flies into the air in an instant. Ricardo suddenly realizes that his necklace is no longer on him and proceeds to look into his own soul to find it. As a deity, Ricardo’s real body doesn’t have a physical form but can interact with physical objects as well as storing them in his soul. Ricardo searches for his necklace on his soul body, he finds it still dangling on his neck. He then summons the necklace into the physical world and puts it on.

That was a close call. Ricardo thought to himself with a sigh of relief. After taking another couple steps next to his bed, Ricardo feels a sharp pain coming from his back and blood coming from his nose. He then realizes that he has yet to fully heal the dying body that he had taken control of, he then spends a moment to put a blessing on the physical body which healed all his injuries and made it invincible to any damage and injuries. Ricardo proceeds to takes off all the casts and bracings that was on his new body. He also makes a clone of the original body and puts it on the bed to better hide his true identity. Lastly, he switches his appearance back to his former self as well as the clothing that was on him and teleports out of hospital onto a nearby park. He begins taking a walk along the trail on the side of the park, the walkway is narrow and covered by the overgrowth of grass, but it’s this scenery that puts Ricardo at peace. He continues to walk along the trail while looking through more of the memories he received in detail. Turns out the previous Ricardo had been in a car crash that killed his parents, and he was the only survivor of that accident. However, he ended up in a coma because of his brain and spine injury which will ultimately lead him to his death. Before the accident, he was an elite student at a prestigious university. Apparently, he also had a crush on this girl named Alasia whom he never had the courage to confess to. Ricardo continues walking down the trail and enjoying the scent of the nature around him, but the thought of not being able to tell someone that you loved how you feel is now constantly on his mind.

Well, as the new Ricardo, I should finish what the old Ricardo started. But so far this is much more entertaining than reading documents. Ricardo thought to himself. He then recalls from his memory that there is a party happening tonight, and he heard that Alasia is also attending. He then proceeds to teleport high up into the clouds and begin constructing a large spaceship from his bare hands. One of Ricardo’s favorite pastime activities is making random items using his Creation abilities. He has made many interesting and quirky items in the past before. As the spaceship completes, he conceals the large flying objects from human detection and boards the ship. There are many security measures in the front gate to prevent unwanted guests. The inside of the spaceship is a large cozy living room with an open bar in the back, there are dozens of bedrooms down the hallway on the right of the living room. The left hallway leads to the arsenal and the training room. The ship is piloted by an advanced AI, while the housekeeping of the living area is done with robot butlers.

If I was going with the body’s original appearance will draw too much attention due to how recent the accident happened. I will need to make a fake identity with the same first name to be able to pass through the security. Ricardo thought to himself. He snaps his fingers to change his clothing for the upcoming party, he is now in a fancy suit instead of the laid-back suit jacket that he was in, he is also filled with the scent of expensive cologne. As he gets ready to leave for the party, he looks at himself in the mirror. Ricardo has never taken a good look at his appearance as a deity, he created his appearance based on the current beauty standard of humanity. He has a tall and yet muscular build, black hair and black eyes with pupils that contain sparks of light as if a galaxy is contained inside. He considers his true form much more fitting for a deity, but this will have to do for the situation at hand. Ricardo searches for the location of the party in his memories, it is in one of the ballrooms in the university that the previous Ricardo attended. He forges a student ID like the one in his memories, hoping that he would be allowed to enter without complications. Ricardo teleports to the entrance of one of the university's buildings. There are many vines of various plants that had grown into the outer wall of the decade old building. Despite the seemingly aging appearance of the structure, there is still a sense of fashion that is woven into the bricks from its glory days. There is a large carving on top of the entrance that reads “Hellen Hall”. Ricardo steps into the building through the main entrance, and he is immediately greeted with a heavy vibration caused by the music that is played through multiple loudspeakers. He also sees a line of formally dressed young couples who are making their way into the ballroom. Despite the amount of people that are currently in line, the hallway itself is very spacious, with posters and billboards hanging on either side of the walls. The line itself is moving very slowly, and Ricardo is getting quite impatient with the amount of time he has spent waiting.

Perhaps instead of risking my false identity, I should just go in the easier way. Ricardo thinks to himself. He then proceeds to stopped time of the entire building and quickly moves into the ballroom. He makes sure to find a hidden corner in the room to make sure people don’t see him suddenly appearing.

I won’t have to do this if humans don’t make everything so slow and complicated. Time begins to move again, and Ricardo looks around to make sure no one is paying attention to his sudden appearance into the room. The ballroom is very grandeur in design, there are multiple large golden chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. And on the far end of the ballroom are a wall of glass looking out into the campus ground. There are multiple open bars set up throughout the ballroom, as well as tables of snacks. Ricardo continues to scan the room to search for the girl he was looking for. He spots a girl that is on the other side of the room that is looking out the window that matches the general appearance of Alasia. Ricardo goes to one of the open bars and asks for a glass of water and proceeds to walk over to Alasia. As he begins taking steps in her direction, he starts to think of every possible approach that he can take as a conversation starter, but he has no clue which one is the best. Ricardo is now only couple of steps away from Alasia, and he sees her face from the faint reflection of the mirror. It matches with the person from his memories, but it also appears that there are tears coming down from Alasia’s eyes. Ricardo hesitates for a moment to decide whether this is a good moment to approach her. The current scenario is really a double-edged sword, on one hand it may show that he is a caring person, but on the other hand, it can come off as being a creep that is taking advantage of someone’s feelings. He takes a deep breath and decides to approach Alasia. The distance closes between the two of them, Ricardo takes another deep breath and speaks his first sentence to a human in a very long time.

“Excuse me, you are Alasia, right?” Ricardo asks with a slight nervous but mostly confident tone. Alasia wipes away her tears quickly and turns around to face Ricardo. As Ricardo meets Alasia in the eye, there is a strong feeling of attraction that is unleashed upon him from his memories. Despite having full control of his human body, Ricardo still shares the same experiences and memories as the previous owner of the body. Alasia has blue eyes which perfect compliments her long black hair, despite her eyes being swollen from the tears. She is slightly shorter than Ricardo but is still relatively tall among the female population. She has a slim build and yet there is an aura of stunning strength that emits from her presence.

“Yea, I am Alasia… Alasia Allison.” She introduces herself with a bitter smile on her face. Ricardo is still somewhat zoned out from the massive amounts of flashbacks from his memories. Despite this, he stops his thoughts and keeps his composure.

“My name is Ricardo, nice to meet you.” Ricardo offers a handshake. Alasia hesitates for a moment and shakes his hand.

“I have never seen you around before, what is your major?” Alasia asks.

“Oh, it’s Computer Science.” Ricardo somewhat panics at the unexpected question. Alasia scans Ricardo from top to bottom with a confused emotion on her face.

“You don’t look like someone from the CS department, not to be stereotypical or anything, but they typically don’t dress this well.” Alasia explains.

“I will take that as a compliment I suppose.” Ricardo said with skepticism.

“So, what’s up? Is there anything that you want from me?” Alasia asks enthusiastically.

“Well, I showed up without a date, so I was coming to this side of the room for some peace and to rethink my life decisions. I suppose the same happened to you?” Ricardo said nonchalantly trying his best to hide his motives.

“I came without a date as well, but it was because I wanted to confess my feelings to this one guy.” Alasia explained with a somber tone. “But it looks like he already has someone in his heart.”

“Sorry to hear that, I like your dress by the way.” Ricardo trying his best to lighten up the mood.

“Oh thanks, I don’t particularly like to dress like this, I was hoping it will get Chris’ attention.” Alasia said with a bitter smile.

“You must’ve been really in love with the guy, even willing to dress in ways you don’t like.” Ricardo remarked.

“Yea, I had a crush on him for a long time, and that eventually spiraled into one-sided love.” Alasia trying her best to hold her tears back.

“You know, the world will be a happier place if people didn’t feel need to hide their true self in order to please someone.” Ricardo commented knowing the hypocrisy behind what he had just said.

  “How so?” Alasia asked curiously.

“Because not everyone can appear at maximum attractiveness at all times, I mean, I don’t think you have make-up on at bedtime.” Ricardo chuckled.

“What exactly are you trying to tell me?” Alasia trying her best to decrypt the message.

“I am trying to tell you that you should try to be yourself more, instead of hiding behind a mask of what you think other people will think of you.” Ricardo explained. Alasia looks down at the ground for a moment, trying to process what Ricardo had just told her. She knows that Ricardo is right, and that she had been trying to be someone she isn’t. Few moments later, she looks up to meet Ricardo in the eye.

“Your eyes are really beautiful, the spark in your pupils looks like they are from a nearby galaxy.” Alasia said with admiration.

“Th-Thank you.” Ricardo replied, somewhat caught off-guard by the sudden compliment.

“But I think you are right; I have been trying so hard to be someone else that I forgot who I really was on the inside.” Alasia conceded with a gentler tone than before. “I am also somewhat confused on why you are so nice to someone whom you have just met.”

“Is it wrong to be nice to everyone?” Ricardo disputed with a chuckle.

“No, I am not saying it’s wrong but, it’s kind of rare for a complete stranger to give me life advice.” Alasia explained.

“Don’t worry, I don’t charge people for those.” Ricardo Joked.

“I wasn’t plan to repay you either…” Alasia said while rolling her eyes. “But I thank you again for telling me all this, I will be taking my leave now, I hope we meet again.”

“I know the university is quite large, but I’m sure we will meet again, maybe even tomorrow.” Ricardo reassured. Alasia gives Ricardo a genuine smile and starts to make her way out of the ballroom. The smile leaves Ricardo with an aftertaste of many emotions, but he was happy with how his first encounter turned out. He also starts to head out of the ballroom, away from the loudspeakers and the crowd. As he leaves Hellen Hall, the noise dies down and is replaced by the sound of the nature around him. The swooshing of the wind combined with the chirping of cicadas brings a sense of peace to Ricardo’s mind. As he looks at the setting sun, he couldn’t resist but to think about Alasia’s smile that had been stained into his memories. He continues to walk around the campus under the last sliver of twilight before darkness declares it’s presence. Unlike this morning in the park, Ricardo was no longer paying attention to the beauty of the world around him. The thought of Alasia replays repeatedly in his vast mind, this sense of affection is strange to Ricardo, and yet it warms his cold heart like something that was dear to him. He teleports back to his ship as the darkness sets in. As he enters the living quarters of the ship, he was greeted by a dozen robot butlers. Although the ship has hundreds of these robots running its operations, there is still a sense of loneliness within Ricardo, but unlike his days as The Creator, he has finally found something to look forward to.

As the morning rolls around, Ricardo gets out of bed knowing that he didn’t get any sleep the night before. Although his mind doesn’t require any rest to function, he still feels a sense of fatigue due to his human body. He decides to physically put on clothes today instead of using his powers. He puts on a casual fit with a suit jacket over his shirt, and he made sure to not forget his sword necklace this time around. Although Ricardo isn’t a student at the University of Cloverfield, the thought of seeing Alasia urges him to go back. Especially with the fact that Ricardo is on vacation and has nothing else to do with all the free time on his hands. Ricardo teleports himself to the park in the university and immediately recognizes the girl on one of the benches. He walks over to the bench and sits next to the girl.

“The weather is quite nice today.” Ricardo commented.

“Oh, hey Ricardo! I knew we were going to meet again.” Alasia greeted enthusiastically. “I also took your advice and started to dress the way I want. This is way more comfortable.”

“You think jeans are comfortable?” Ricardo questioned her skeptically.

“I really enjoying wearing them, and jeans go together with a ton of things!” Alasia objected with a slight annoyance on her face.

“How is everything with you and Chris?” Ricardo asked.

“Last night I thought everything through and decided to move on and perhaps look for someone who does care about me.” Alasia blushed.

“I’m glad that you moved on, but does that also mean you have someone else on your mind now?” Ricardo inquired with curiosity.

“P-perchance?” Alasia answered, blushing harder than before.

“Oh nice, who is it?” Ricardo questioned trying to act oblivious to the fact that it is most likely him.

“I think you are having too much fun with this!” Alasia confronted. “But the truth is, I do have a crush on you, and I had been thinking about what you have told me yesterday ever since.”

“Seriously? Me? Out of all the handsome guys on campus, you decided to choose a random stranger you met once.” Ricardo doubted.

“Well, it’s complicated, ok? You can’t just fall for anyone that is good looking, they must resonate with you on a deeper level.” Alasia refuted.

“So, are you going to ask me out?” Ricardo teased.

“Uhm, I was planning to in a couple of weeks...” Alasia stuttered. “But I suppose I can do it now…”

“Let’s hear it then.” Ricardo said with a smirk. Alasia is surprised by the sudden bluntness of Ricardo’s response. She takes a deep breath and tries to calm herself down. Although she had thought about the means of confession many times in her life, the adrenaline of the moment is making her nervous regardless. There are hundreds of thoughts going through Alasia’s head at this very moment, questioning the method of her delivery as well as the result of her action. Alasia looks up at Ricardo, locking her eyes with his, a sense of hope and affection expels all the negative emotions from Alasia’s head.

“I know we just met yesterday, but everything you’ve said means a lot to me, and it sparked something within my heart.” Alasia takes another breath as she prepares to deliver the confession, “despite some of my lackluster qualities, I will do everything to make you happy. So, will you be my boyfriend?”

“Well, before I say yes, I need to tell you a secret.” Ricardo informed with a sudden change of tone.

“Wait, so, I take that as a yes?” Alasia asked with a hopeful and yet confused tone.

“Yes, I am interested in being your boyfriend, but I need to tell you something important first.” Ricardo clarified. Alasia suddenly jumps to Ricardo’s side of the bench and dives her face onto Ricardo’s chest as she wraps herself around Ricardo in a hug. Ricardo is suddenly caught off-guard by this act, but he unconsciously embraces Alasia’s hug and rests his hand on her hair. He isn’t sure if this is the right thing to do, but he wanted to return Alasia’s affection in any way he can. As Ricardo holds Alasia close to him, he can feel her breaths just as how Alasia can hear Ricardo’s heartbeats. The two of them lingers in this position for a couple of minutes, Alasia looks up to Ricardo with a warm smile.

“What were you going to tell me again?” Alasia asked.

“Oh. About that. What I’m about to say is going to be hard to accept, especially for you. And I want you to promise that you won’t overreact.” Ricardo explained.

Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.

“Don’t tell me that you…” Alasia pauses and looks away from Ricardo, “Even then, I am willing to love you with everything I have, despite sacrificing my sex life.”

“I don’t have the thing you were thinking about, it was not what I was going to tell you!” Ricardo snaps back.

“I was just kidding; your reaction was hilarious though.” Alasia said with mischief.

“I was going to tell you that…” Ricardo pauses and looks at Alasia in the eye, “I am actually not who I am, or rather, I am under a false identity.”

Alasia breaks from Ricardo’s embrace and moves away from him slightly. She looks at him with skepticism.

“So, who are you really?” Alasia inquired.

“I am actually what you humans call a god or deity.” Ricardo responded.

Alasia continues to stare at Ricardo for a moment before bursting into laughter.

“You deserve an award for saying that with a straight face.” Alasia giggled. “If you have a god-complex that’s fine with me, I love the way you are.”

“I am being serious; I am a deity.” Ricardo insisted. “I can prove it to you.”

“Fine, prove it. Show me that you are truly a god.” Alasia encouraged.

“What do you want to see?” Ricardo asked.

“Mm, I don’t really know, pick whatever you want to show me.” Alasia replied. Ricardo ponders for a moment, trying to come up with something creative to show Alasia. He then stands up from the bench and holds Alasia in his arms. In an instant, the two of them is now floating in space, facing the Milky Way galaxy. Alasia is shocked at the scenery that is presented in front of her, and of the fact that her newfound lover is actually a god.

“I can’t believe you are actually a deity, I’m speechless.” Alasia exclaimed.

“Does it change how you feel about me?” Ricardo asked.

“Maybe a little bit, but in a positive way, I’m still trying to process everything.” Alasia responded.

“I know it’s a lot to take in, we can stay here for as long as you like.” Ricardo reassured.

“I have so many questions right now, like why did you agree to date me?” Alasia inquired.

“Well, I didn’t want to break a cute girl’s heart I suppose.” Ricardo teased.

“I’m glad that gods have good taste in women.” Alasia flirted, “especially this one…”

“I will take that as a compliment.” Ricardo replied, “but you got one thing wrong, I am the only real god, all the other deities are all results of my creation.”

“So, what you are saying is, you created this universe?” Alasia asked curiously.

“I created the entirety of the multiverse, which includes this one.” Ricardo explained, “my actual identity is known as The Creator of the Multiverse.”

“You need to stop dropping information on me for the rest of today.” Alasia responded with a slight annoyance in her voice.

“I promise that was the last piece of information that I needed to tell you.” Ricardo said reassuringly.

“Good, let’s just enjoy this gorgeous view.” Alasia directed, “I’m kinda glad that you are so honest to me about who you are.”

“I just wanted you to feel safe and secure around me.” Ricardo explained, “And so I thought I should show you who I really am.”

“I suppose I will also tell you a secret about myself, to make it even ya know.” Alasia teased, “but only if you promise to not tell anyone ok?”

“I promise to not tell anyone.” Ricardo reassured.

“Alright. It was around the summer of 1997 which is around nineteen years ago. A women gave birth to a girl who became the first telepath, an Esper.” Alasia explained, “when the world governments found out about this, they all wanted to capture and study the young girl. Her family defended the girl the best they could until one day, another Esper was sent after them. Turns out, Espers will always grow stronger after each generation with more variety of powers. The girl knew that she and her family will be in grave danger, so they decided to take on new identities and leave their old lives behind. Espers accounts for less than one percent of the world’s population, most of them are controlled by their respective governments. Those who refuse to cooperate will be jailed and executed. Much of the human population supports these policies out of sheer fear and envy. After all, it’s human nature to alienate those who we see differently. I’m sure you can decode my identity based on the story.”

“If the governments already have Espers, couldn’t they experiment on them instead?” Ricardo asked.

“I once thought about that as well, turns out, my blood can be used to turn a human into an Esper.” Alasia explained. “Also, can you set me down, my feet are getting kind of numb being held like this.”

Ricardo sets Alasia down on her feet to the empty space next to him. Alasia hesitates for a moment before she sets her right foot down; despite stepping onto visually nothing, she was able to find her footing. Alasia takes a few steps on the empty space around her wondering if she will fall into the bottomless void.

“Don’t worry, I have modified this area temporarily, you won’t drift or fall.” Ricardo explained.

“Oh, I see, must feel nice to have all the most wonderful powers on your side.” Alasia said with a hint of sadness in her voice.

“Forgot to ask, if all Espers have unique powers, then what is your power?” Ricardo asked curiously.

“It’s nothing special, in fact, it’s probably the most generic of superpowers.” Alasia answered, “it’s telekinesis, but only the most basic form of it, I can only move around five small objects at a time.”

“Would you mind if I look into your soul? I know it sounds weird, but I am just curious about one thing.” Ricardo asked.

“Sure, I guess, but can you tell me what it looks like?" Alasia responded.

Ricardo smiles and nods before he looks at Alasia in the eye. His eyes glow with a blue hue and he looks through Alasia’s eyes into her soul body. He analyzes it for a moment before deactivating his Spirit Sight.

“How was it, what does my soul look like?” Alasia asked nervously.

“The way that souls are defined are by color. Typically speaking, the darker the color the eviler aligned a being is. The brighter the color the better aligned a being is. The metallic colors are essentially mutations of these base colors. The color gold typically means the person is very justice orientated. But it is possible for the person to change who they are by their environment. The size of someone’s soul is directly related to amount of power they can draw.” Ricardo explained in detail.

“So, what is the color of my soul? I can’t really see myself having a dark color.” Alasia inquired.

“Well, your soul has a very interesting color, it is silver. And its size is quite large.” Ricardo explained.

“That’s what I was hoping to say tonight.” Alasia winked, “What does silver mean?”

“It means divine purity, silver is a very magical metal, and many consider it to have some sort of heavenly power. It is very rare for anyone to have a silver soul, since it’s both a mutation and neutral in alignment” Ricardo answered, completely ignoring Alasia’s bad joke.

“Interesting, why did you wanted to look into my soul again?” Alasia continued with her questions.

“I was just curious, after all, who doesn’t want to see the inside of the first Esper.” Ricardo giggled getting back at Alasia’s joke earlier.

“Didn’t know The Creator also has a taste for sex jokes.” Alasia jested.

“Just because I am a god doesn’t mean I’m inproficient with bad humor.” Ricardo responded, “Because you have a silver soul, there is something that I want you to try out.”

Ricardo takes off his sword necklace and place it in the palm of his hand. The sword returns from the miniature form to a full-size Katana.

“Its name is Reality Breaker, and it has been my sword since the beginning of time. You should try to unsheathe it.” Ricardo said while handing Alasia the sword. As Alasia carefully takes Reality Breaker from Ricardo, a slight glow emits from the sheath. Alasia puts her right hand on the hilt of sword and begins to unsheathe Reality Breaker. As Reality Breaker slowly pulls from its sheath, the dark body of the blade reveals itself under the starlight of the universe around them.

“It’s beautiful, but it also gives me a feeling of terror and dread.” Alasia responded.

“It was forged with every kind of material there ever was in the multiverse, as well as the blood of countless lives.” Ricardo explained, “But looks like Reality Breaker has taken a liking to you.”

Alasia looks down on Reality Breaker and sees a subtle pulse of red light coming from cracks of its surface. The subtle pulse sends a vibration from the hilt of the blade to the palm of Alasia’s hand; it feels as if the sword is alive and breathing.

“I want to show you something.” Ricardo said as he takes Reality Breaker from Alasia’s hand. He unsheathes Reality Breaker at a lightning-fast speed with telekinesis, as Reality Breaker floats in the air, the edge of the sword begins to emit a white glow.

“How did you make the sword glow?” Alasia asked curiously.

“The edge of Reality Breaker is made up of thousands of small edges, and these small edges can vibrate back and forth just like a chainsaw.” Ricardo answered in detail. “The user has to use their psychic power such as telekinesis to move each of the edges manually.”

“If there are thousands of these small edges, doesn’t that mean you will need to control thousands of objects at once?” Alasia inquired.

“Precisely, yes.” Ricardo replied, “The more powerful your psyche is, the more powerful this sword is.” Ricardo then hands Alasia the sword again, “you should give it a try.”

“Huh, me? But I have a weak psyche, I can only control like five objects.” Alasia panics and takes a step back trying to reject the offer.

“That’s better than nothing, just give it a try.” Ricardo insisted. Alasia puts a firm grip on Reality Breaker’s hilt with her shaking hand and lift it from Ricardo’s hand with little effort. She is shocked by how easily she was able to handle the large sword with just one hand.

“Try to control it with telekinesis.” Ricardo said with a casual demeanor. Alasia nods nervously and begins to focus her mind on Reality Breaker. The blade lifts slowly out of Alasia’s hand and hovers in midair.

“Good job, now try to make it glow.” Ricardo prompted.

“Are you sure about this? I’m not that proficient with controlling very small things.” Alasia stuttered.

“I will take responsibility for anything that happens, just give it your best.” Ricardo calms her down. Alasia takes a deep breath and focuses all her power into the edge of the blade. A tiny spark of white glow appears and immediately extinguishes. Reality Breaker starts to fall onto the invisible platform beneath them. Just as the tip of the sword falls inches away from the platform, Ricardo grab’s the hilt of the sword at an incredible speed.

“Good job darling, that was quite impressive for a beginner.” Ricardo teased.

Alasia blushes slightly when she hears the compliment.

“T-thanks, I didn’t actually think that I was able to even able to control one of the edges.” Alasia said while wiping away some of her sweat on her forehead. Ricardo unsheathes Reality Breaker and returns it back to its miniature state. Meanwhile, Alasia’s phone begins to ring.

“Hey Claire, what’s up?” Alasia answered, “well would you believe me if I was out on a date?” Alasia said as she glances at Ricardo. “I know you are jealous that I got a boyfriend before you did, but I will be on my way home.” Alasia hung up the phone and lets out a sigh, then she walks over to Ricardo and buries her face on his chest.

“Sorry dear, we should probably get going, my roommate wants me to help her with homework.” Alasia explained with a muffled voice.

“Today was a lot of fun, probably the most fun I’ve had for the past couple thousand years.” Ricardo snaps his finger and the two of them returns to the park. The sun is on the verge of setting, and a cool breeze breathes onto Ricardo’s face.

“This was definitely a new experience for me, dating a god and staring at a galaxy from space.” Alasia giggled, “I had a lot of fun, and glad that you had fun too.” Alasia looks at Ricardo in the eye with affection. “Can we please stay like this for a little bit longer, just five minutes and I will get going.”

“Absolutely, we can stay like this for as long as you like.” Ricardo comforted. The two of them cling onto each other for a few more minutes. Despite no words were said, the intimate moment was enough communication for the two of them to understand each other. As Alasia slowly breaks away from Ricardo’s embrace, she takes a couple step back as she controls her urge to stay longer.

“Well, I just get going now, bye Ricardo!” She waves goodbye and starts to walk towards one of the student dormitory buildings. Ricardo watches as Alasia leaves his line of sight. There is a slight sense of disappointment that the date ended, but there is also a sense of anticipation for the next time he sees her. Ricardo teleports back to his ship as the darkness sets in. He changes his clothes and prepares to take a bath. As he submerges himself in the warm water, he begins to ponder the possibilities of being in a relationship with a human. After all, he is only on vacation and isn’t staying forever and humans can’t go beyond their own universe. Ricardo then flashbacks to when Alasia first smiled at him.

“It’s too early to think that far ahead, because goddamn her smile is so cute.” Ricardo whispers to himself.

Ricardo rushes out of bed the next morning; he dresses himself up instantly with his power. It was the same outfit as the day before, he didn’t even get a chance to think about his appearance before teleporting out to the park. Unlike the day before, Ricardo is walking along the trail with a fast pace. He knows this feeling is what people call love, but it’s still hard for him to believe that he is in love despite his godhood. Nonetheless, he continues to pace around the park looking for Alasia. He makes his way to the bench they sat on yesterday; however, Alasia is not there. Ricardo sits down on the bench in hope that she will show up eventually. An hour passes, there is still no sight of Alasia. Ricardo feels a sense of anger and sadness, he wasn’t sure why Alasia didn’t show up after all she’s said yesterday. He knows the feelings that the two of them shared was genuine, and yet he feels as if he shouldn’t had put so much pressure on Alasia with his secrets. After all, a god being in a relationship with a mortal is only something out of a fairytale. As Ricardo gets up from the bench, a vibrant light shines from Reality Breaker. Ricardo holds the blade in his hand to examine it.

This is Alasia’s psychic energy, and if Reality Breaker is emitting someone’s psychic energy, it typically can only mean one thing. Ricardo thought to himself. A sense of urgency flows through his mind, he uses his Spirit Sight and begins to scan the entire planet for Alasia’s soul. He locates her in an abandoned construction site around two hundred miles from his current location. Ricardo launches into the air and flies towards the location at max speed. As he lands on one of the rooftops, the psychic powers emitting from Reality Breaker diminishes.

Alasia wakes up abruptly when a bucket of cold water is splash onto her face. She opens her eyes slowly as she tries to adjust to the bright light that is pointed directly at her. The cold wind blows onto Alasia’s skin which causes a stinging sensation. She tries to move around the chair she is currently on, but her legs and arms are all secured by a tight rope.

“Good morning, Ana, or should I call you Alasia. It was such a chore to haul you all the way from here, but luckily your roommate granted me assistance.” Says the man who sits behind a table that Alasia is facing. He appears to be in his forties, with glasses and a luxurious white suit. “I suppose I should introduce myself, you can call me Dr. K.”

“What did you do to me? Also, it’s not very gentleman-like to treat a girl like this you know.” Alasia insulted hoping to distract him, so she can untie the ropes with telekinesis.

“Oh, you don’t have to worry about that young lady. You don’t know how long I have been tracking you down, but it was Claire who drugged you last night.” Dr. K said as he reaches into his bag and sets a dozen surgical devices onto the table in front of him, “And I will make sure to have plenty of fun with you.”

“Who sent you? And how did you find me in the first place?” Alasia questions him, the knot on the rope is now more than halfway untangled. She knew that she should’ve moved out this week, and this slip up might end up costing her life.

“I’m sure you already know who sent me, as for how I found you, let’s just say you should be more careful when you are hanging out with your lover.” Dr. K giggled sadistically. “Let’s see which one of these toys I should use first…” Before he can finish his sentence, a scalpel flies from the table aiming for his face. Dr. K catches the scalpel midair and looks at Alasia who is now standing in front of him.

“I did not give you permission to talk about him.” Alasia raged.

“Well well well, aren’t you a feisty one, I wonder if he will still love you after I tear you limb from limb.” Dr. K taunted.

“SHUT YOUR MOUTH!” Alasia yelled as she controls the other sharp instruments to attack. Dr. K continues to deflect the flurry of slashes and stabs from the tools with the scalpel in his hand. He continues to provoke Alasia while remaining in a defensive position. Alasia in a desperate attempt, launches all five tools at Dr. K at the same time. However, the tools were stopped in midair and falls onto the ground.

“Let’s put an end to your little game.” Dr. K sends an invisible slash of wind towards Alasia and her left arm falls to the ground. Alasia drops as her head register the pain coming from her left arm. Tears slowly flows from her face to the concrete floor that she is laying on as she slowly bleeds out. Her last thought was the warmth of Ricardo’s embrace as she whispers his name.

Ricardo busts through the concrete walls of the abandoned building with ease. He speed- teleports through the building and pinpoints Alasia’s location. He destroys the wall in a single punch with no hesitation. As the dusts clears, he sees a man in a white suit sitting in a chair with a cup of coffee. Ricardo glances to the wall behind him and was immediately hit by terror and rage. On the wall, it was Alasia, who is nailed to a white canvas, her limbs were sewed together and there is a large gap on her belly where her intestines were protruding from. The white canvas was painted red by the gushing wounds that were on Alasia’s naked body.

“Greetings my honored guest, are you enjoying my artwor-.” Before the man could finish his sentence, his body explodes into a puddle of unrecognizable flesh. Ricardo limbs over to Alasia, he falls to his knees as he is directly in front of her. Drops of tears begin to fall from his eyes as he stands up and lowers Alasia’s lifeless body from the wall. He takes off his suit jacket and puts it on Alasia’s exposed body.

“I had felt so lonely for so long and yet you drove it all away in just two days.” Ricardo said with a bitter smile as he holds Alasia’s hand, “I never thought that I would truly be able to feel all these emotions, but you proved me wrong, and I will be forever grateful.” The tears continue to flow down Ricardo’s face despite his effort to control his emotions. He takes off his necklace and sets Reality Breaker in Alasia’s hand, “You are the only other person that Reality Breaker has taken a liking to, and not only that, but it also let you wield it.” At the moment that Ricardo finished his sentence, a vibrant bright light shines from Reality Breaker. It rises to the air and returns to its original size. As Reality Breaker unsheathe itself, the blade turns from a deep dark color to a shiny silver with various colored markings. Alasia’s body begins to ascend into the air alongside Reality Breaker, her body begins to repair itself under the radiant light emitted by the sword. And while the energy coming from Reality Breaker heals Alasia’s damaged body, it also starts to transform her appearance. Ricardo is blinded by a sharp flash of blinding light, and when he opened his eyes, in front of him stands a girl with long white hair and heterochromatic eyes that are red and blue. She is wearing a green dress that emits a powerful nature aura, and she wields Reality Breaker with her right hand. Despite the completely different presence, her facial features stayed the same.

“Alasia?” Ricardo whispered. The girl opened his eyes and immediately embraces Ricardo in a tight hug.

“Ricardo, I thought I won’t get to see you again!” Alasia cried, “Do you have any clue how scared I was? That motherfucker was not lying when he said he was going to tear me limb from limb!” She buries her face deep into Ricardo’s chest.

“I’m sorry that I was late, but I promise that I won’t leave your side ever again.” Ricardo vowed.

“I think we have bigger problems on our hands now, pretty sure that guy leaked my DNA information and also this new form is kind of weird.” Alasia looks down on her dress. “Oh, and also Reality Breaker has a new fo-.”

“Alasia, I don’t give a flying fuck right now.” Ricardo interjects and kisses her. Alasia embraces Ricardo’s lips with her own, and the two of them share a moment of intimacy oblivious of their surroundings for a couple of minutes. Ricardo breaks away from the kiss and says “Well, I should probably teach you how to use your powers after this.”

“That’s definitely a good idea, my dear.” Alasia teased. “Especially now that I get the spend the rest of eternity with you.”
