Prologue — A Mistake of Divine Proportions

Yasuragi Kaito never expected to die while reaching for his cup noodles.

One moment, he was leaning over to grab the kettle, the next, darkness swallowed him whole. No pain. No sound. No fear. Just… nothing.

When awareness returned, he found himself floating in an endless white expanse. The air felt weightless, the world empty, until a tall man with silver hair and a clipboard appeared before him.

“Ah… crap,” the man muttered. “Another filing error. Sorry about that, kid. You weren’t scheduled to die today.”

Yasuragi blinked, feeling oddly calm for a guy who just learned he was dead. “Wait… what?”

“I’m what you’d call a god, and this was an honest mistake on my part.” The man sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “To make it up to you, I’ll give you a free reincarnation. World of your choice. One unique ability or item. Think of it as an apology.”

Yasuragi’s mind spun — and then one name surfaced like a beacon.

  “One Piece.”

The god smiled. “Thought you might say that. Where and when?”

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Mt. Colubo, twenty years before Luffy’s journey. As an orphan taken in by Dadan’s gang.”

The god whistled. “Detailed. Anything else?”

“A Devil Fruit. A Paramecia type I’ll call the Makyoku Makyoku no Mi — the Reverse-Reverse Fruit. It lets me create a space where all directions are inverted for others. Left becomes right, up becomes down, forward becomes backward. Distances get warped, strikes get misjudged. I’m unaffected inside it.”

The god raised a brow, impressed. “Creative. That’s approved.”

“One more thing,” Yasuragi added, his voice steady. “A system. Not one that gives quests or missions. Just something that lets me see my own stats, track abilities, and my Devil Fruit development. I don’t want it guiding me — I’ll make my own path.”

The god’s grin widened. “You’ve got guts, kid. I like it.”

He raised a hand, and a small, transparent screen shimmered into view.

  [Name: Yasuragi]

[Devil Fruit: Makyoku Makyoku no Mi (Paramecia)]

  [Age: 0]

  [Location: Mt. Colubo, East Blue]

  [Haki: Locked]

  [Abilities: None]

“Nothing fancy. It’ll update as you grow. No quests, no guiding hand. Just a record of your progress.”

  Yasuragi smiled. “Perfect.”

“Then it’s settled,” the god said, his tone growing solemn. “Live well, Yasuragi. Write your own legend.”

A brilliant light engulfed him, pulling him toward his new life.

When he opened his eyes again, he was no longer Yasuragi Kaito, ordinary student.

He was Yasuragi — a child of the East Blue wilds, future wielder of the Reverse-Reverse Fruit.

And his new story was about to begin.
