A day before Amber returned to the Akane Clan…
“Ngh… Ah~… Today’s classes are finally over! I can finally relax before I prepare my things!”
Amber stretched her arms upwards as she managed to finish her classes a lot earlier in the Starfell Academy. It was a long day for her and for the other students who were studying in the prestigious academy of their nation, no doubt.
“I can’t wait to meet my little siblings again after so long! And tomorrow is exactly the same day when Steely’s Blood Transfusion will happen! I’m probably not going to get even a single wink of sleep tonight with all this excitement!”
She giggled to herself when she thought of those words and a small smile appeared on her face when she imagined the smiling faces of both Steely and Stella once she finally returns home.
“Hey, Amber! Are you going just going to stay sitting on your chair all day or are you going to eat with us?” A feminine voice called to her as the female student leaned her head.
The girl had a neck-length light blue hair that had a bright yellow color beneath it and was wearing the academy’s female uniform; a purple blazer with orange stars along the arms, white blouse, black knee-length skirt, and orange necktie with the usual black shoes and white socks.
“I’ll be right there, Viola! I’m just packing a few of my things up and I’ll walk with you there! Just wait for me at the door, okay?”
Amber shouted as she packed her fountain pen and notebook inside her bag before she wore it behind her and rushed out of her classroom doors where Viola was waiting for her.
“There you are! You were taking so long that I was just thinking about leaving you behind there.” Viola joked with her hands inside her skirt’s pockets.
“Haha. Very funny, Viola.” Amber rolled her eyes in her sarcastic tone of voice.
“Well someone’s not feeling well today.”
“I was earlier when you called out to me. I was imagining just how my little siblings would be smiling at me once I return home tomorrow. The Starfell Academy summer break will begin tomorrow and I’m just so excited about it!”
“Well aren’t you a supportive and eager big sister.” Viola commented with a grin.
“Of course I am! It’s been so long since I’ve seen those little rascal of twins that as their big sister, I’ll always be happy and content to see them whenever I get the chance!”
Viola just giggled at Amber’s words before the two of them started walking side by side all throughout the academy halls to reach the cafeteria on the first floor.
“With a big sister like you, I’m certain that your little siblings really adore you. If you were to be my big sister, I’m sure I would be composing songs here and there about how much I care and adore you.” Viola admitted.
“I’m so sure if I should take that as a compliment or as an awkward statement.” Amber nervously admitted to Viola and the light blue lady pouted.
“What? Can’t I show how much I love you through composing multiple songs?”
“I can accept a song or two, but multiple of them sounds to be way too much, even for you, Viola.”
“Well I’m sorry then! I hope that you’ll never become my big sister ever again!” Viola pouted even harder and crossed her hands.
“Hey! I never told you that I wanted you to become one of my little siblings anyway, so why in the Netherworld are you pouting over your own jokes?!” Amber angrily retorted back.
“No shouting in the hallways, you two!”
A male student with dark purple hair and black eyes shouted at the two friends who were chatting in the middle of the halls in a stern tone of voice.
“Amber! Viola! I’ve told you these many times before now! Shouting in the halls is forbidden whenever you’re talking!” The male student scolded the two.
He wore just the same top as the two female student that had the same color with the only difference being was that his uniform had a long sleeved shirt instead of a blouse and black pants instead of a skirt.
The male student then fixed the black glasses that he was wearing and continued speaking to Amber and Viola.
“Considering that our academy’s summer break is just right around the corner, I understand the excitement of the both of you. However, please keep it under control until tonight as you two are still within school premises.”
“Understood, Vice-President Yicheng.” Viola rolled her eyes.
“Sorry about that, Vice-President.” Amber apologized as her fox ears arched down.
“Hmph. You two have always usually followed academy rules with only a few exceptions being accidental shouting in the halls or unintentional injuries through friendly banter. Considering that today’s the former, I won’t punish you severely.”
Yicheng then took a pen from his pants’ right pocket and a little notebook from his pants’ left pocket.
“However, that doesn’t excuse you from not getting your names written in the Misbehaving Student Book one last time before summer break. I expect that the two of you to visit our academy’s library to help sorting out the books this evening. You two may leave now.”
Although the two female students didn’t really wanted to do anymore school work, they don’t have much of a choice because they don’t want to break anymore school rules.
Especially if the one who found you was none other than Yicheng Zi Yue of the Zi Yue Clan—the clan known for martial arts in the Raiden Nation—and the Vice-President of Starfell Academy’s Student Council Board.
Yicheng is known as the Tiger’s Fangs within the academy because of the fact that if he caught you misbehaving in the school grounds, he’ll never let you out of his sight until you complete the task that he handed to you as your punishment.
But don’t let the reason he was given that title fool you though.
His title may have started out as a joke because of his strictness towards the academy rules but he’s not one to be messed with when it comes to a fight as he’s especially strong in the Zi Yue’s Hand to Hand Martial Arts.
So both Amber and Viola left without even a single mutter of another word out of their mouths.
“He’s as strict as ever, isn’t he?” Viola asked when she turned her head to look back at Yicheng.
“Although you can tell that he’s also excited for the Starfell Academy Summer Break to start, he’s not letting even a single thing of his personality break from making sure that every student follows the academy rules.”
“That’s just how Yicheng is, Viola.” Amber answered.
“I mean, aren’t you like that with your music as well? Whenever you compose a new song or a new tune, you’re always so focused and so strict when it comes to figuring out what the right tune is. I think he’s just like that when it comes to following academy rules.”
“Yeah well, the Armonia Clan is only strict when it comes to composing the perfect tune for our music since our culture and nation is literally about different music and tunes.” Viola argued back.
“When it comes to Yicheng and his clan, the Zi Yue, discipline is always a must both in combat and in the daily lives of their clan members. There’s a huge difference there.”
“Seems like someone knows a lot about their childhood best friend and crush~. When are you even going to confess to him anyways, Viola~?” Amber teased with a cheeky grin on her face.
Viola’s face blushed extremely red and was resisting the urge to shout at Amber to not get herself into any more trouble by stomping both her feet.
“For the last time, I do not have a crush on him, Amber!” The Armonia girl said through gritted teeth and clenched fists.
Amber just giggled at Viola’s somewhat suppressed anger towards her with her right hand covering the grin on her mouth.
“The more you deny it like that, the more it means that it’s the truth, Viola~!”
Amber let out a hearty laugh as she ran through the halls in a fast pace, avoiding the fitful rage that is occurring to her friend right now.
“Hey! Get back here, you mischievous foxian! I haven’t finished talking to you yet! I’ll make sure that you take back those words once I’m done with what I’m about to do to you!”
Viola ended up chasing after Amber, quickening her steps through the halls as she tries to catch up to Amber because the Foxian Maiden already ran with a head start.
Evening, Starfell Academy Library…
“Phew~… That just about does it for the remaining books.”
Amber wiped the sweat on her forehead before she fixed the leaning book on the bookshelf one last time before she dusted her hands and grabbed her bag.
“It took quite a while but I’m glad that I managed to finish up pretty quickly before night completely fell. Hey, Viola! You done on the other side?”
She called to her friend who was at the other side of the bookshelf that she was organizing.
“Don’t shout, Amber! I can hear you clearly! And yes, I’m just about to finish with my books here! Go and leave early if you want, I still have other things to take care off before I go back to our dorm!” Viola shouted back.
“Got it! I’ll see you back at the dorm then!”
Amber then grabbed her bag on one of the library tables before walking out of her isle. As she was walking nearer to the library door though, she came across an unusual pair of students fixing a few papers together.
“President Serenity! Secretary Aria! Good evening!”
Aria Azure, whose body was now showing her starting growth spurt, looked as beautiful as ever despite her cold demeanor towards other people she isn’t close to.
And right beside Aria was Serenity Solari, the only daughter of the Solari Clan and rightful heir to the throne of the Solari Clan, who was also the President of the Student Council Board of Starfell Academy and the Youngest Ruler to ever be known.
Serenity had beautiful hip-long white hair that faded into orange with a single strand of purple on her bangs, star-like orange eyes with purple pupils, and a white four-pointed star on her forehead.
The both of them were also wearing the female academy uniform with the only difference being was that Aria is wearing a pair of blue stockings while Serenity wore a black stockings.
“Ah. Amber, good evening to you too. It’s good to see you. I assume that the task that Yicheng gave to you is completed?” Serenity asked with a calm yet stern tone of voice.
“Yup! I’ve finished fixing all of the books that needed to be placed in their right shelves and in their right categories already! I was just about to leave when I saw you two here. What you two doing anyways? More SCB stuff?” Amber asked.
“It’s bound to happen with the academy’s summer break starting tomorrow. We’re just about to finish up with the rest of the paper work that needed to be done today. If you’re wondering how long, we’ve been at it since this afternoon.”
When Aria replied in a seemingly uncaring tone of voice, Amber wasn’t focused on her tone of voice but was rather more focused and shocked at how long the two of them have been dealing with their paperwork.

“You two have only been doing your Student Council Board paperwork ever since this afternoon?! You’ve been at it for that long?!” The Foxian Maiden asked in shock.
“Quiet in the library, Amber. Remember that rule.” Serenity reminded in an almost quiet voice.
“You don’t want another task to be added to your workload and not be able to pack your things for the academy’s summer break that’s starting tomorrow, do you?” She added.
Amber immediately covered her mouth before she shook her head side to side.
“Nope! I’m very sorry, President! I’ll try to be quiet now!” Amber replied underneath her covered mouth.
Serenity let out a small amused smile before she continued doing her paperwork while Aria let out a small sigh out of her mouth before she spoke to Amber.
“Well, you best be on your way now, Amber. Unlike you, who has already finished her tasks, us Student Council Board Members have to finish a few things before we can fully enjoy our summer break.”
Aria moved her right hand in a shooing gesture before she returned to doing her paperwork just like Serenity. The Solari Heir saw Aria’s little gesture and let out a small chuckle under her breath.
“Go now, Amber. See you in the next school year in about three months.” Serenity responded kindly to Amber.
“S-See you two in the next school year too. I-I’ll be off now! Goodbye!”
Amber rushed out of the library quickly. She couldn’t help and stutter when she talked with one of the two most beautiful and strongest students among the entire academy. Sure she matched their beauty but her strength and powers isn’t yet comparable to theirs.
When Amber finally left, Serenity turned to Aria and spoke with a stern voice.
“Did you really have to be so cold towards Amber, Aria? You know that she meant no harm when she greeted us. Is a simple gesture of “hello” too much for you?”
Aria sighed and stopped writing on her paper before she looked at Serenity and responded with an equally stern tone of voice.
“Not everyone is as friendly to every student as you, Serenity. I don’t mind simple pleasantries between me and another student. But when I’m in the middle of my work, I don’t ever want to be disturbed, so I always shoo anyone away who tries to distract me.”
Serenity sighed before rubbing her forehead and replied to Aria.
“This is why a lot of students are afraid to even come close to you and are afraid to approach whenever they need something from the Student Council Board and why they always approach Yicheng instead of you.” The Young Ruler sighed again.
“Can we talk about this some other time, Serenity? We need to finish these remaining paperwork already. Unlike you, who lives so close, I have to travel through another nation to get back home.”
Serenity didn’t replied to Aria’s sentence as she merely got back to doing the rest of her paperwork in silence with the cold ice princess following suit. All that can be heard within the library now was the scribbling of their fountain pens.
At Amber’s and Viola’s Dorm…
“Ugh… I can’t believe that I stuttered right in front of both Secretary Aria and President Serenity… I could’ve chosen to use that moment to become closer to them but I wasted it…” Amber groaned once more.
The eldest of the noble foxian siblings was laid face down on her pillow on her own bed right now, she decided to take in a few minutes of rest before she starts packing up her stuff.
“I’ll just wait for Viola to return before I start packing my things up…” She then looked up at the clock over their dorm door.
“It’s about eight thirty o’ clock, an hour and a half before the academy’s “Lights Out Curfew” begins and the time for all students to sleep… Although I usually sleep at nine, maybe I should sleep in for a few minutes. What’s the hurt there…?”
Amber then stood up from her bed before stretching her own arms and grabbing her towel that was laying on the side of her bed.
“I’ll take a bath first before I take my sleep. I just hope that Viola doesn’t take too long with arranging the books in the library though. I don’t really want to accidentally lock her up.”
And so, Amber started to remove her clothes one by one, leaving them on her bed before she folded them neatly and headed straight inside for the bathroom in her dorm room together with Viola to take her shower.
After a few minutes later, Amber returned back inside their room with her towel wrapped around her while she was blow drying her hair.
“Phew~… Nothing like a nice warm bath in the night before going to bed.”
It didn’t take long for her to get dressed into her pajamas that were provided by the academy and she then laid on top of her bed before she tuck her blankets over her and closed her eyes.
“A few minutes of rest… That should be more than enough time for me to feel rested before I begin packing my things up.”
That was a mistake on her part however, because when she closed her eyes—she completely fell asleep without ever being able to wake up even when Viola returned to their dorm.
“Amber seems to be sleeping in quite peacefully… Didn’t she say that she was going to pack her things tonight though?” Viola wondered.
She then took a peak at Amber’s condition and when she confirmed that the foxian maiden was sleeping peacefully with her blanket and tails tucking her in, she decided not to wake her up.
“Maybe it’s best to left her sleep. She’s had a rough day after all.”
Viola then took a bath of her own before she got herself dressed with her own pajamas and laid on top of her bed then tucked herself in before closing her eyes and sleeping through the night.
The next day, six thirty in the morning…
*BEEP!* *BEEP!* *BEEP!*
Amber’s usual alarm in the morning was beeping loudly throughout her dorm room with Viola.
“Ngh… Mm… Huh…? Eh…? EEEHH?! No way! Did I really sleep in until morning came?!” She shouted in disbelief.
“Oh crap! What time is it now?!” Amber then turned to the clock and let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank goodness that it’s still six thirty in the morning… I thought that I might’ve overslept. Thank you, alarm! Alright then! I still have a lot time before I finish packing my things up!”
Amber got up from her bed and stretched her arms and let out a light moan. She then scanned the room and saw that Viola was still sleeping quietly on her bed before she pondered.
“It seems like even when Viola entered our dorm, I didn’t even heard her. Alright! A few last classes starts at nine in the morning and then we leave at lunch by a carriage that will take us back to our homes. So I have a few spare time to pack my things before we leave!”
And so, Amber took a quick shower, brushed her teeth, before she got dressed into her academy uniform. She then did a few packing, starting with her clothes and then on her toiletries before she turned to look at the time.
“Seven fourty on the clock.” She glanced at Viola.
“That’s odd… Viola usually wakes up at this time around and yet she’s still fast asleep. Did she not managed to set her alarm clock for today last night?”
Moving closer towards Viola’s bed, Amber shook her friend’s sleeping body in a slow rocking manner while calling to her in a soft voice.
“Hey~… Viola~… Viola, it’s time to wake up.”
“Ngh… Ugh… Just five more minutes, Amber…” Viola groaned in her sleep.
“You know that won’t do, Viola. You still have to pack your things before we leave, remember? Also, we have a few last classes today before summer break really starts.”
“Ugh… I don’t want to go, Amber… Just tell them that I’m sick or something…”
Those words ticked Amber off so much that she got angry at the audacity of her friend.
“I will not… Make any type of excuses just for your lazy ass to get some more sleep when you clearly already have many!”
“UWAH!!!”
Viola shouted and was now awake thanks to Amber forcefully throwing her blanket so hard that she fell to their dorm floor with a loud thud.
“Ow! Amber, what was that for?!” Viola rubbed her hurting rear.
“Don’t try to make excuses anymore, Viola. It’s the last half day before we leave for our summer break and I won’t have you miss any of it. So get your sleepy ass up, take a bath, and get dressed before you start packing your things later.”
“Okay, okay… Jeez, no need to sound like my mother all of the sudden.” Viola forced herself to get up and enter their shared shower.
“Also, don’t forget to eat breakfast before you head to class! I’ll be leaving now!” Amber informed.
“Got it! I’ll see you back in class!” Viola replied.
Amber then left their shared dorm and closed the door behind her before she walked through their dormitory hallways before she headed towards the main campus of Starfell Academy.
Time went by like a blink of an eye after that. The classes seemed to feel faster, a few of the magic and combat lectures along with the survival lectures seemed to last only a few minutes before they were finally over.
And when it was time to eat lunch, Amber hurried up to finish her meal before she got back inside her dorm together with Viola and packed their things together before they did a double-check on their items and left the dorm.
When the carriages arrived at the academy gates, every student got inside one by one according to the distance of their homes. Amber got inside the fourth carriage with a few other students from other classes before she said her goodbye to Viola.
“See you next school year, Viola. Take care of yourself, girl.” Amber waved goodbye.
“Take care of yourself too, Amber! I’ll see you next school year!” Viola waved as well before Amber’s carriage started to drive away into the distance.
After a four hours and thirty minutes’ drive…
Amber got off the carriage and went inside her home.
“I’m home everyone!” She greeted both Shiranui and Aki, who were ecstatic to see their eldest daughter finally home and they hugged each other for a few minutes.
When she saw Enrei, her eyes went wide as she was surprised to see that the old foxian was home. After a few moments of joking around with each other, Amber hugged Enrei and they shared a small laugh together.
A few minutes passed by…
“I wonder where Steely and Stella are. Mom and Dad said that they left at three and hasn’t come back ever since. Hm?”
When she looked outside from the window on the second floor, she grinned when she saw both Steely and Stella panting for their breaths with a few gift bags gripped in their hands.
“It seems like my little siblings decided to buy a few gifts for me~. How about I give them a little surprise then for their generosity~?” She rushed downstairs and then opened their home’s main door.
“Well it certainly is a good sight that you two are having a lot of fun even though I’m not even here most of the time.”
When she called out to them, they responded by calling her the way they usually call her and she grinned gleefully back at the both of them with her arms crossed over her chest and shouted loudly.
“The one and only!”
