February 15th, Saturday.
Saigon City, Free Wilderness.
Deep within the Old City Ruins Site, the Dark Bazaar.
..
Three characters:
Deacon of the Diess assassin organization, recruiter for professional assassin trials.
Witiivi, a 16-year-old cute and charming white-haired girl in white.
Sapasa, a 17-year-old yellow-haired girl in yellow with depression.
..
Witiivi and Sapasa ride in a cheap Machine Capsule into the depths of the Old City Ruins Site.
Deep within the ruins lies Saigon City’s most secret Dark Bazaar.
The Dark Bazaar is the secret trading hub of Saigon’s underworld.
..
In Utopia, the wealthy travel on their expensive Contracted Machine Beasts.
Only those who can’t afford Machine Beasts use public transport: Machine Capsules.
A Machine Capsule looks like a giant metal beetle.
Beneath its transparent metal sphere are six mechanical legs.
Machine Capsules are Third-order Task Robots.
..
Following intelligence from a spy senior sister of the Beggar Sisterhood.
Witiivi brought Sapasa to the Dark Bazaar in search of…
With great difficulty, they found a deacon of the Diess assassin organization.
The deacon responsible for recruiting trial participants for professional assassins.
..
Witiivi:
“I want to join your Diess professional assassin trial.”
..
Deacon:
“Joining our Diess professional assassin trial is simple.
There’s only one condition:
You must find one of Diess assassin organization’s mobile strongholds.”
..
Witiivi:
Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.
“Is there a time limit?”
..
Deacon:
“No time limit.
Find it whenever you can.
The first virtue of an assassin is patience.”
..
After the deacon left, Sapasa and Witiivi discussed.
..
Sapasa:
“Can you find Diess assassin organization’s mobile stronghold?”
..
Witiivi:
“What does our Beggar Sisterhood have most?”
..
Sapasa:
“The inner faction of the Post-Society Beggar Sisterhood has many secret assassins.
The outer faction in Utopia has many secret spies.”
..
Witiivi:
“Exactly. I’ll ask the spy senior sisters of the Beggar Sisterhood for help.
I should find one of Diess’ mobile strongholds soon.” ..
..
The Beggar Sisterhood is one of the largest secret assassin and spy organizations for the poor on Mother Planet.
Also known as the Beggar Women’s Gang or “Beggar Gang” for short.
Its inner faction in Post-Society has more secret assassins.
Its outer faction in Utopia has more secret spies.
..
Disciples of the Utopia Beggar Sisterhood rarely have fixed residences in urban areas.
Though land in Utopia is free for all.
Each person receives 100 square meters of residential land at birth.
At 18, they get an additional 100 square meters of commercial land.
..
But constructing buildings on that land still requires money.
The cheapest housing for the poor is to retrieve abandoned mechanical cargo holds from Mechanical Cemetery.
And convert them into homes.
Even transporting and modifying these cargo holds costs some money.
..
Beggar Sisterhood disciples even save on that.
They either live in schools’ free mobile dormitories.
Or in large abandoned machines in Free Wilderness.
They wander the streets during lunch and dinner.
Mooching meals from acquaintances whenever they can.
They spare no effort to save on food money.
..
The Beggar Sisterhood has many rules, with three most famous:
Rule 1:
“Never spend your own money when going out for food, drinks, or entertainment.”
Rule 2:
“In the face of life, morality, ethics, faith, reputation, honor… are worthless.”
Rule 3:
“Even with empty pockets, live a wonderful life of wandering and decadence.”
