Chapter 168: Wu Yu Meets Twenty-One (1)

  Angle of view

When I woke up again, the scenery around me had completely changed. The hospital room disappeared without a trace, and I lay in a place that looked like a cave. As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw towering dark rock walls, with an extremely large space around me, it was like another world.

The rock wall was also reflecting a faint phosphorescent glow, so I could see my surroundings clearly. There seemed to be several people lying around me, and my clothes were all wet and clinging to my body, making everything seem unreal for the time being.

But they are real. Vividly real, right around me. When I breathe, the sound of breathing is clear and audible.

I sat up with a start, and found that the injuries I had sustained at the Chen's house hadn't appeared on this body - I was still me from a year ago. My whole body hurt like hell, covered in dark purple bruises, and my fingers were pale white as if they had been soaked in water for a long time.

I immediately remembered what had happened before and where I was again.

The night before we fell into the lake at Chen's house, we were swept away by a flood and ended up underground somewhere. My last memory was holding onto Tan Jiao. Now that I think about it, it feels like something that happened in my past life, so long ago.

  Tan Jiao?

"Ah Yu!" A familiar yet surprising voice called out, but it wasn't Tan Jiao. I lifted my head to see Chen Ruying and her mother Feng Yan standing not far away by a small black pool of water, washing their faces and the mud off their arms.

Seeing them "reborn" again, I have a mix of emotions in my heart. With a slight nod, I found Tan Jiao.

She lay on the ground not far from me.

It turned out I never let go.

Pale little face, buried in wet black hair, slender figure like a stray small animal. I leaned over, gently picked her up. She murmured twice, opened her eyes, saw me, and drowsily muttered: "Again? Sleep for a while longer..."

I couldn't help but laugh, patted her face and whispered: "Wake up, we're back a year ago."

She blinked, suddenly opened her eyes and stared at the surroundings in an incredible way, then let out a loud sneeze. Many people turned their heads to look at her. I held her tighter, pressing her face against my chest, she looked up at me and whispered: "Is the wound healed?"

"It's as good as it gets."

She lowered her head and smiled.

This is an unprecedented feeling, even if I fall into the uncertain future, my mood is still relaxed, everything seems to be full of hope. All because there is one more her in my arms.

Not far away, someone lit a small bonfire, and the firelight illuminated Xuan Yu and Zhu Ji Hua. Seeing us wake up, Xuan Yu nodded and smiled warmly at us, with a hint of helplessness and bitterness between his eyebrows. I also politely nodded in response.

Tan Jiaoming obviously saw the interaction between us, and also saw Chen Ruying mother and daughter not far away, grabbed my clothes, whispered: "It's really exciting..."

I patted her head: "Since you're here, then just relax. They are still who they were a year ago, just respond normally."

Tan Jiao said: "Then put me down first."

I said: "Don't want to let go."

She stared at me with wide eyes.

I couldn't help but laugh, and finally let her go, only to still hold her hand tightly. She was so cold, I led her to the bonfire, but didn't say a word, they were too close.

I've always felt a pair of eyes on my back. I know who it is, but I'm ignoring them.

"It's terrible, isn't it?" said Yan Yuan, "I don't know when the rescue team will arrive."

I didn't say anything. In my memory, we were directly swept into the collapsed underground by the flood, and it was a blessing in disguise to be able to enter this cave. I guess people on the ground thought we had gone missing.
