Chapter 1 The Ghost of Blood.

I'm lying on a hospital bed, I peer out to my sides, an IV bag to my left, and light to my right. I stare at the ceiling, which is a dirty white color with what looks like mold growing on it. I took a breath and started wheezing. I sit up, and the coughing came out dry, it sound hores and nasty. My lungs hurt, so I moved my arm to massage my chest. I suddenly felt multiple tugs, but one had stopped. It was the needle from the IV Bag. Two IV bags were hanging on the pole, both entry, one beled saline and the other, a smaller bag beled gentamicin. Despite being empty, the clear tube that would collect the liquids from the two bags was not. I would like to shove it back, but it is probably not a good idea. The wall was a dingy, diseased, yellow-greenish; nature had taken the room back. Yellow is an interesting color, one of the most common ones in nature, but it never looks like it. The same yellow on a dandelion, if painted onto something else like a book, will look just as good or better, but the yellow on the wall will make even the most putrid greens look good. There's no doubt the hospital is abandoned, but it can't be for more than a year; they would have remembered me and sent me to a different one nearby. Maybe it is the apocalypse, so no one could send me off to a functional one.

What apocalypse would it be? Would it be like the one in the video game where Earth is overrun by demons? He-HO.

  " HE-HO"

Maybe the demons will recognize me as one of their own and come to help me.

  "HE-HOOO!"

Noting, and I am still in my hospital gown, at least I still have my underwear on. I have noticed that many wires were attached to me. There is a fanger clip, so I removed it with ease, and then there was an arm-band, so easy, but there were many wires that were attached to stickers. I pulled one, but it pulled on my skin; it almost felt like burning. It left a sticky residue, but I must continue. It was the most painful thing I have experienced, but now they're gone. Here it goes, I move my legs and step down to the once sanitary floor.

  "AUWCH!"

Gss! The window was broken. Why did I not notice that, and why didn't I spot the blood that was gushing out from my arm? What should I do? I need to find shoes or something so my feet won't get cut up, but that prick from the IV was making blood pour out, and the bandages have lost some stickiness. There is a tray on the nightstand, so I climbed up the bed and removed all the medical equipment. With the old bandages, I tape them to my feet with the bottom facing up. I can only hop, but my feet are starting to bleed, so it is better than nothing. I hop to the nightstand, noting, in a closet, nothing. I notice a door, noting but a toilet.

Two cabinets were fixed to the wall in the room. I open the top one, I find clothes, so I look for shoes and socks, noting. Do I even bother wearing this? But it is better than nothing, so I look at the bottom cabinet, a vial of mysterious liquid, it says streptomycin on it, finders keepers. I looked everywhere, and there was no first-day kit. What is with this hospital? There is a sofa, probably there to mock me. Telling me that I was prepared to have guests for you to meet, but no one was there, Ha, Ha.

The sofa was near the window, so it had shards of gss on it. I carefully moved the gss and sat on it. I removed the bandages and slipped my legs into one of the pant legs, and did the same to the other leg. The pants have two pockets on the outside to two standard inside pockets, cargo pants. It has a stretch waist, so it fits me with no problems, but the legs stop barely below my knees. I sat down again and reached back to remove the hospital gown. I put on a t-shirt, which stops above my belly button and feels tight on the sleeves. It was obvious that it was meant for a kid or someone smaller than me. Did I have a growth spurt sometime st year? How old am I?

"Argh! I don't know my name or age but I know these things are call cargo paint and there are fucking green! grrr!"

My hands covered my eyes, so I took a deep breath and felt mucus coming out.

  "Hack"

I use the hospital gown to hold the snot. Wait a minute! I grabbed a gss shard and cut parts of the gown that did not have the snot to dress up the cuts and picture wounds. The bleeding made my arm look like it had a great gash on it, but it was just a prick; the feet don't look any better. Getting angry won't make things any better. But the pce looked gutted, even the curtains were gone. The door was a sliding gss door, and the walls were also see-through. The hallways have windows that look into the main interest, the hospital has no sense of privacy, but it wouldn't matter if the patients are on the third floor. Maybe I can raid the hospital for more supplies or even information on me, but I should be quick; the bandages are being soaked in blood. The t-shirt was bck and had a pixeted creature with the words "Born in 1997" on the bottom. I found a red hoodie with the other clothes and put it on. Time to move, I look down and walk to the door.

"You're not supposed to stand up that soon."

  "Ghaaaa!"

  "Your muscles should be weak."

It was a girl wearing blue stockings and golden shoes, a light blue blouse with puffy sleeves. She has short white hair with a gold headband that holds it in pce, bangs that swoop to the left, framing the red eyes that pierce her pale skin. She had a neutral frown and looked serious, but she wore a cheerful, golden yellow skirt and matching sleeve guards. She was shorter than me, just by an inch or so.

"Your bones seem to have no effect."

  "What year is it?"

"2024" The girl looks ghostly, almost transparent.

  "Hop up."

She turned around, holding her hands together, and squatted down, expecting me to climb up. I should decline because she is smaller, so if we eventually fall, it will make things worse.

  "Up up"

Fine, I will let myself be carried. So I y on her back and felt her arm locking on my legs. She stood up as I crossed my arms, and she dashed through the gss wall.

' What the-!? She shattered the gss wall, I feel gss flying out, hitting my face. I close my eyes and feel weightless. She broke the window too, I felt the gss fly towards my face again. I opened my eyes, she jumped out the window to the first floor!

  "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

"You are no longer eligible to go to Eden, so you will need to be carried to the nearest Hospital."

  "Hue?"

"In Eden, I would have been able to care for you without consulting a physician, but my powers can not manifest in the real world."

She squatted as she nded on the ground, causing the food to cave in, causing many cracks to form. She then vaulted to the main entrance, opening the door with a dropkick.

We entered a small overgrown field with a small cracked asphalt road that loops around. I look back to get a better look. It looked abandoned for decades, and there's already a forest growing around. It has to be the post-apocalypses. The girl continued to dash through the woods and onto a road as the cloudy sky darkened. The road continued until buildings started to appear, modern and well-kept ones. The road had cars on the side and other ones driving, Civilization! I feel relieved, but it was starting to rain. I am certain the gss has cut me, but I only felt the rain drizzling on me. The girl stopped.

"The meeting has ended. I will see you again."

She put me down in front of the hospital entrance, "River Valley Memorial Hospital" was on a sign nearby.

"What day is it? I said.

"April 6, 7:30 eastern standard time."

Such a cold tone, like, why would I even need to know that, but any answer is good enough. She left like that and quickly disappeared to the sidewalk. The rain has grown thicker, my feet shoeless. I feel something warm dripping down my face, and the makeshift bandages are drenched in blood. Blood started to flow out to a puddle that was quickly forming. Did she stop the bleeding? I closed my eyes and started seeing only bck.
