The Wildoran Calendar
Calendar Type: Lunisolar
The Ilythari calendar is governed by the interplay of two moons and the Sun.
Lunareth, the blue moon—clarity, balance, and healing.
Duskara, the crimson moon—changes, chaos, and hidden truths.

Each month (or moon) holds cultural and spiritual meaning. We will explore festivals, omens and celestial convergences tied to each in the next chapter.
A year is dated in AoL (Age of Loss), following the fall of the last human monarch.

Weeks and Days
Wildora's week—also called a Verdance Cycle—is a 7-day rhythm observed in most regions. Each month has 4 cycles.
1. Sunmorn - Sun's rise, first workday.
2. Moontide - Commerce and toil.
3. Groundwell - Stories and hardship.
4. Ashfall - Hunting and harvest.
5. Stonepath - Silence, tax, and council.
6. Veilday - Prayers, offerings, and mourning.
7. Wildrest- Feasts, healing, and resting.
Mnemonic: Sun, Moon, Ground, Ash, Stone, Veil, Wild.
In modern times, many Wildorans regard these associations as ceremonial relics—honored in tradition, but rarely followed in daily practice.
In more practical or secular regions, weekday names are often simplified into numerical terms (e.g. Day-one, Day-two, Day-three, etc.), especially among nomadic tribes and rural areas.

On the Count of Hours
A day in Wildora is divided into daytime and nighttime.
Daytime: Time is measured in 8 divisions (called Verdances), corresponding to the phases of the Sun.
1. Firstlight - dawn
2. Goldrise - early morning
3. Midbeam - late morning
4. Suncrest - noon
5. Brightfall - afternoon
6. Duskglow - evening
7. Fadeveil - twilight
8. Nightrest - after dusk
Nighttime: Time is measured by the alignment of the moons and star constellations, particularly The Eye of Karnithis, which appears ominously during the blood moon cycle.
"Moons twin above, bells drift in vines. Keep your tally close—or Luxarion shall judge in time."
- Common adage among Wildoran folks.
