Chapter 71: All Things Have Spirits, Summoning

Nan Gong Huan was still locked in a fierce battle with the boss. She could clearly sense that this boss was stronger than the captain she had encountered last time. Moreover, he hadn’t even consumed the blood yet. If he did, she couldn’t imagine how terrifying he would become.

The snake-man’s voice rang out, and Nan Gong Huan took a quick glance, only to find that everyone else had been captured. She was the only one left.

"Hahaha, still trying to resist? If you surrender now, I might go easy on you!" The boss laughed heartily.

He had to admit, this little girl had some skill, but she couldn’t fight against so many alone!

Soon, the remaining dozen or so beast-men surrounded her.

"Junior, run! Go get help!" Qi Kong shouted, only to be knocked out by the snake-man’s tail.

"Shut up!" The snake-man spat, his red eyes narrowing into slits, silencing everyone with a glare.

As the snake-man turned his attention back to Nan Gong Huan, Hua Ning muttered under her breath, "How despicable!"

"Let’s see if I can cut through the ropes with wind blades," Yue Shan whispered, gathering energy in her hands.

Everyone fell silent, feeling the cool breeze brushing against their wrists.

Just as the ropes were about to be cut, Jiang Huairou accidentally kicked a pebble, drawing the snake-man’s attention back.

"What are you doing! Trying to escape?" The snake-man roared in anger, swinging his tail and knocking everyone out cold!

"Hmph, let’s see you try to escape now!" The snake-man grabbed new ropes and tied them up tightly.

Are they all unconscious? A glint of light flashed in Nan Gong Huan’s dark eyes as she observed the ten people around her.

"Little girl, if you don’t surrender now, you’ll end up just like them!" The fat man’s tiger claws scraped the ground, making a chilling sound.

If she fought with all her might, there might still be a chance!

Nan Gong Huan channeled her spiritual energy, and the leaves around her began to rustle without any wind. The surroundings suddenly fell silent, with no cicadas or owl hoots to be heard.

A strange sense of danger loomed in the boss’s heart, making his brow twitch with an ominous premonition.

"Summon, Little Nine!" Nan Gong Huan shouted, and the contract array lit up brightly.

Little Nine leaped out, immediately unleashing a skill: "Dragon Transformation—Wooden Dragon!"

A fierce gust of wind swept through, breaking branches and sending countless leaves swirling upward. In the air, they coalesced into a massive wooden dragon!

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

"Roar—" The dragon’s roar was like a storm, spitting out sharp leaves and dry branches from its mouth. It then charged into the beast-men, wreaking havoc.

The beast-men were thrown into chaos. Those who couldn’t dodge in time were pierced by several leaves, and one beast-man had branches stabbed into his eyes, rolling on the ground in agony!

"Useless trash! Get up! Capture that girl alive!" The boss shouted, realizing that Nan Gong Huan wasn’t an easy opponent. He pulled out a bottle of blood and drank it, transforming into a massive black sand wolf!

The aura of a Five Spirit Life black sand wolf surged, his blood-red eyes locking onto Nan Gong Huan, enveloping her in a strong sense of death.

"Yan Ji, Xue Ji!" Nan Gong Huan remained calm, summoning two soul entities behind her.

Their soul power had improved significantly, especially since it was now midnight, the peak of yin energy. While absorbing the souls of the dead, they unleashed their soul power, joining the chaotic battle.

"Soul control? Are you a demonic cultivator?" The boss bared his sharp fangs. He had indeed underestimated this little girl.

Nan Gong Huan didn’t care about being labeled as a demonic cultivator. She reached out, and the wooden dragon above her dropped a Phoenix Ginseng Fruit into her hand.

  "All things have spirits! Summon!"

Using the special summoning skill of the Earth Spirit Clan, Nan Gong Huan felt her first spiritual platform rapidly drained as all her spiritual energy concentrated on the Phoenix Ginseng Fruit in her hand.

This was a rare fruit that had accidentally been caught up in the wooden dragon’s transformation. She wondered what kind of spirit beast it would attract.

Under the boss’s stunned gaze, a massive summoning array, ten zhang long, lit up vertically in the sky. The Phoenix Ginseng Fruit was drawn in, leaping into the array like a nimble fish.

Soon, a massive red beak emerged from the array, slightly opening to swallow the fruit.

The other beast-men on the ground were drawn to the beak, staring in horror.

Following the beak came a pure white bird’s head.

  "Eee—"

It let out an elegant cry, its body gradually revealing itself to everyone. Its form resembled a giant red-crowned crane, its slender claws stepping onto the ground and crushing the snake-man. With a peck of its sharp beak, it tore off his head!

Blood splattered onto the boss’s face, making him tremble in fear.

"A Five Spirit Life Longevity Crane!" The boss was terrified. Although he was also a Five Spirit Life black sand wolf, the Longevity Crane was his natural nemesis!

Nan Gong Huan breathed a small sigh of relief. Summoning a Five Spirit Life spirit beast was already a great achievement.

"Ten seconds, little girl," the Longevity Crane spoke human words. Like an elegant gentleman, it knew it had been summoned by Nan Gong Huan. The Phoenix Ginseng Fruit had tasted good, and it quite liked the scent of her spiritual energy, so it decided to help her out.

But with Nan Gong Huan’s current strength, the summoning array could only last for ten seconds.

"That’s enough!" Nan Gong Huan gripped her Radiant Blade and charged at the boss.

With the Longevity Crane’s suppression, the boss stood no chance. In just two moves, his head was severed!

Little Nine had also dealt with most of the beast-men. The wooden dragon disintegrated into falling leaves, while Yan Ji and Xue Ji teamed up to kill the last beast-man, absorbing their souls.

Ten seconds passed, and the Longevity Crane returned to the summoning array, giving Nan Gong Huan a playful wink before leaving.

The battlefield was littered with corpses and debris. After confirming there were no survivors, Nan Gong Huan recalled everyone and untied her companions, waking them up.

"Nan Gong, are you... are you okay?" Jiang Huairou was the first to wake up. Her eyes were still blurry, and her face turned pale when she saw the bodies on the ground.

Especially when the boss’s head rolled to her feet, she kicked it away with all her might. No one noticed the flicker of anger in her eyes.

A bunch of useless trash, so many of them couldn’t even take down one person!

"I’m fine," Nan Gong Huan swiftly cut the ropes.

Gao Luo woke up shortly after, his expression darkening as he saw the bodies. He subtly tugged at Jiang Huairou’s sleeve, shaking his head at her.

Nan Gong Huan was still untying the others and didn’t notice the strange exchange between the two.

The other four seniors soon woke up, their faces filled with shock as they saw the carnage.

"Junior Nan Gong, did you... kill all these people?" Hua Ning rubbed her wrists, looking around. The corpses were in gruesome states, each death more horrifying than the last.
