Princess

Feeling embarrassed, Yang Xuetian turned toward the sound, immediately apologizing.

Yet his words were cut off by the sight of the person in front of him.

Holy shit, how had he missed him?! He was huge!

The space they both inhabited was fairly small. In his world, he’d shelter at most 4 people with them huddled in together. The compact space made it just a bit warmer.

This guy, however, took up the space of two regur people!

Not only that, but he was blonde! Like an actual blonde!

While Yang Xuetian was a lover of all types of women, he found blondes to be the most appealing since it was rare to find one in China. In a sea of bck and brown hair, blonde hair was a rarity.

Yet his interest only went so far. Blonde was attractive but he wasn’t into men so he could only appreciate it superficially.

As he came to this revetion, the man in question gred hatefully at him, reminding him of the situation at hand.

The man, huge as he was, was soaking wet.

  “Damn, I’m so sorry! I didn’t-”

Shit, what was he supposed to say? That he wasn’t used to his new appendages so he’d acted on instinct? Wouldn’t that sound crazy? His body was over 2 decades old!

“I didn’t know anyone else was here…” He said, feeling awkward. While it was the truth, how did it sound that he failed to notice such a huge guy?

The man gave him an ‘are you stupid’ look that he couldn’t even refute.

“I mean, it's already raining pretty hard so it's not like you are gonna get any wetter with just me, right?” He tried to reason, still feeling awkward.

The man stared back at him, huffing before looking away.

  …

  Was he forgiven?

Yang Xuetian didn’t sense any danger so he rexed a bit. After many instances of being attacked by guys who feigned understanding, he knew the telltale signs of a surprise attack.

Yet there were none of those signs.

He sat down, frowning as he felt his clothes cling to his skin uncomfortably. While he’d run as fast as he could, he still got soaked to the skin.

He shivered, wrapping his arms around himself to preserve some heat.

Yet despite the chill, he felt a wave of heat nearby. Like the call of a thick bnket, he unconsciously moved toward the source only to stop as he realized he was sliding closer to the man beside him.

His eyes snapped open, frowning as he realized where the heat was coming from.

Was the guy a living heater?

Part of him was tempted to get closer but he wasn’t that brazen. While tempting, it’d be weird for him to do that.

Mao Mao or a pretty girl could act like that and probably get nothing more than a bnk look or perhaps a potential partner from clinging to a handsome stranger.

Him? He’d get a look of disgust and a punch to the face.

That and he had his pride.

Yang Xuetian continued to convince himself that his pride would keep him warm until the rain stopped. It was dumb but what else could he do?

He was broke and stuck in the rain. All he had was his pride.

All of a sudden, he felt something fall onto his head, surrounding him in warmth.

After a moment of panic, he realized he now had a towel on his shoulders. He gnced over at his benchmate, who continued to stare out into the rain but showed no reaction to the sudden appearance of the towel.

Had he… seen Yang Xuetian shivering and offered him a towel?

The man pulled out a towel from… god knows where. He wasn’t carrying a bag so was this one of those magic situations?

Either way, Yang Xuetian smiled, thanking the man quietly as he huddled under the towel.

  “Hmph.”

Yang Xuetian gnced over, seeing the man staring back at him with an unreadable expression. Since Yang Xuetian wasn’t a mind reader, he tried to think of what this guy might have wanted.

“Thanks.” He muttered, nodding to him to show his gratitude.

The man’s expression didn’t change. Even when Yang Xuetian turned away, he could feel the guy’s gaze burning a hole into his face.

  What else could he want?

Maybe… maybe he was cold too?

Unsure, he held out the towel but the man turned his nose at his offer.

  Oh?

Yang Xuetian nodded and shrugged. He wasn’t here to fight for something so silly. If he wanted to act spoiled, let him do so soaking wet.

Rather than handing the towel back, he used it on himself. He was surprised by how fluffy and warm the towel was. Had it been specially prepared? If so, he’d enjoy the privilege.

  ***

Luo Weiyuan watched the fox as he bundled beneath the towel. It was a simple spell, warming and drying the body with a magical cloth.

Yet the fox acted like he was snuggling into bed after a cold day.

Luo Weiyuan couldn’t help but stare at the man’s fox ears as they twitched and fttened against his wet hair. He could see droplets sliding and dripping off the tips like dew.

It was strange to be staring, he felt, but he couldn’t look away for some reason.

He’d come here after finding out that his mysterious companion wasn’t at the hospital. While his senses had been dulled due to the drug he’d been given st night, he knew the person who had been presented to him wasn’t the owner of the blood he’d spotted.

There was nothing familiar about them.

He’d been frustrated and chose to come by the university to ask one of the professors for his opinion.

Dragons were obsessive and possessive by nature but rarely about people. Most people, magical or not, didn’t live half as long as a dragon so there was no need to fixate on such finite lives.

He was a noble and grand dragon. He was not some hatchling crafting his first treasure trove.

Yet Luo Weiyuan couldn’t stop thinking about that person!

If that wasn’t enough, as soon as he arrived, dozens of people had dared to block his path, not recognizing the great and noble him as someone they dared not approach. They fawned and ogled him, prociming how handsome and cool he looked.

While such observations were usually welcome as such truths should be expressed openly, he was not in the mood for fttery.

He growled at them, not even honoring them with his grand roar. That was how annoyed he’d been, denying them such a privilege.

His mood must have been worse than he’d thought, as almost as soon as his fangs slipped past his lips, the dark clouds rolled in. Within seconds, a downpour crashed down, scattering the crowd and causing a mild panic.

That was what they got for annoying him when he wasn’t in the mood.

Unconcerned by the rain he brought forth, Luo Weiyuan walked to a nearby shelter, waiting for his natural body heat to dry him off.

Then this little thing came to spsh him like a wet dog!

  How annoying.

Still, as a dragon, he had his pride. He had to make things clear or else this little thing might get arrogant and assume ridiculous things.

  ***

Yang Xuetian was watching the rain clouds rumble and crack in the sky, seemingly getting worse as they sat there.

With this kind of weather, won’t the mood get somber?

Yang Xuetian usually liked the rain, finding it comforting and soothing but all the thunder was putting him on edge.

  “The towel.”

  “What?”

Yang Xuetian felt his ears perk at the rumbling grunt that came from beside him. It wasn’t loud yet he could somehow hear it over the rain. No, it was more like he felt the rumble.

Looking the blonde over, he could tell he was pissed off.

But why? He hadn’t even done anything.

Then he recalled what had grumbled.

Yang Xuetian pulled the towel from his shoulders, shivering a little at the action. He held his arm out, wanting to hand the towel over. After all, the blond had his arm outstretched too.

Yet for some reason, he had his arm out with the palm down.

Weird but whatever. Yang Xuetian draped the towel over the blond's arm like a rack.

Before it could nd, however, the blonde pulled his arm away. If not for Yang Xuetian’s quick reflexes, it would have fallen to the ground.

It might have just been a cut of fabric but it had kept him warm and dry a minute ago. How ungrateful would he be if he let it fall and get dirty?

  “Oi…”

What, was he one of those germaphobes who couldn’t stand to use something someone else used?

“Rex, we’re both guys so no need to act like that.” He assured the man, holding out the towel. “I promise I’m clean~”

He’d gotten to take a shower at the station since he hadn't been a suspect. They even gave him spare clothes so all his soiled clothes were in a bag with Mao Mao.

As such, he was as clean as anyone else.

Despite his reassurance, the blonde man stared back at him with a hard look.

Confused but determined, Yang Xuetian shrugged, taking the towel back.

The blonde’s gaze hardened even more, confusing Yang Xuetian even more.

Only then did he notice that the outstretched arm was wet. It was only a bit since his actions before had only sprayed a bit of water onto the man. He was mostly dry.

  Yet why was he offering…

  Then it hit him.

The bastard wanted him to wipe his arm dry!?

Yang Xuetian gritted his teeth, pulling the towel closer to himself.

  Not gonna happen, princess.

“Look, I apologize for getting you wet but I’m not here to wait on you hand and foot.” He snapped, taking off his coat. “Since you freely offered the towel, I’ll use it. Thank you for your generosity, young master.”

Despite his intentions, he flicked his tail at the man, spshing him with a few drops of water again.

Shit, this tail has a mind of its own! He thought, grabbing it like a naughty kitten.

The blonde growled, rising from his seat and towering over Yang Xuetian.

  Fuck, he’s tall!

“You can growl all you like but you're not getting this back.” He stated, acting like he hadn’t spshed him again. “You had your chance and refused. Don’t bme me for taking what was freely offered to me.”

  “It wasn’t for you.”

“Oh? Then why did you hand it to me?” He shot back, not faltering despite having to stare up at the man. “Are you so special that you expect strangers to serve you?”

“Shouldn’t that be the case?” The blonde crossed his arms, looking down at him arrogantly. “You wronged me.”

“Don’t go talking like some deflowered maiden.” Yang Xuetian shot back, mirroring his posture. It wasn’t as intimidating since he was shorter but he’d be damned if he backed down now. “I said sorry so let it go. I don’t owe you anything more than that.”

  “That towel is mine.”

“Then take it! I offered it to you yet you turned your nose at it.”

“You should return my property in the correct manner.”

“C-correct manner?” He scoffed, wanting to pry this guy’s head open and see what was going through his head. “How should I do that? Do you want me on my knees and obedient?”

The man stopped, seemingly imagining such a thing before nodding like it was an excellent idea that he had thought of.

“That is a good start.” He brazenly decred proudly.

W-what could he possibly say to that?!

Yang Xuetian felt his eye twitch as the urge to shout at this guy. No, there was nothing manly about this guy’s attitude. Such arrogance couldn’t be real, right?

He’s like those princess characters I see in anime. He thought, fully capable of imagining this guy in a full hime-sama garb and ‘ho-ho-ho’ing with a smile behind his hands. Even with his rge frame, the image was clear.

This damn princess demands such ridiculous things.

Obviously, he didn't say this out loud. Calling a man a ‘princess’ would earn him a well-deserved beating. In his previous life, he might have brazenly done so since he was underhanded in his fighting tactics.

  Here? He wouldn’t dare!

  The guy was fucking huge!

Even sitting down, he looked over 2 meters tall, towering over Yang Xuetian’s average height of 1.8m.

(Blond is 7ft while XT is 5’9)

That and his arms, which had been so elegantly offered to him, were bigger than his head!

It would be a losing fight that wasn’t worth the effort.

As such, decided to just refer to this mountain of a man as a princess in his mind and never speak it out loud. He’d take it to his grave!

Had Luo Weiyuan known Yang Xuetian’s thoughts, he’d really crush him as the fox suspected.

“A good start…” He echoed, feeling more baffled than angry. This was just ridiculous.

He gnced past the blonde, noting how the sky was clearing up fast. Part of him wanted to question how such a thing was possible since it was thundering just moments before but he found that he didn’t care.

He was not someone who stayed in losing situations.

“Then take it!” He shouted, throwing the towel in the blonde’s face.

He was clearly shocked by the action, raising his arm just a moment too te and being blinded.

Yang Xuetian took the chance to run, knowing the stranger would be pissed off once he got the towel off. Luckily, his new body was very nimble, running over the wet grass and rocks like it was dry concrete.

He heard the man’s roar of anger but didn’t turn back to check. Years of experience told him that he wouldn’t be chased. The pride of a man was very well understood by another man. While he’d definitely get hurt if they bumped into each other again, this time he could get away with just running.

His own pride was tossed aside in exchange for not getting his ass kicked.

All the while, dark eyes watched him disappear into the trees, the clouds rumbling faintly overhead.
