The Proof She Needed

The morning light poured into the clearing, bathing the shelter in a soft golden hue. A calm breeze rustled the trees, and for once, there was no tension in the air—only anticipation.

Kairyuuha stood at the center of the clearing, cloak folded neatly over a stone nearby. He had recovered enough strength to walk, and more importantly, to activate the technique again. Lumina stood in front of him, hands at her sides, eyes unblinking. She looked nervous, but hopeful.

Kazuki and Yuno stood off to the side, quietly observing.

“Are you sure you’re ready?” Kazuki asked cautiously.

Kairyuuha nodded, brushing his blue bangs from his eyes. “I’ve already fine-tuned the sigil. This time, the scan won’t knock me out.”

Lumina inhaled sharply. “Then… let’s do it, Papa.”

He placed his hand gently over her heart, closed his eyes, and whispered the activation phrase.

**“Reveál. Scan: Sequence Pattern — Absolute Truth.”**

The ground beneath Lumina shimmered with pale blue light. A glowing circular sigil expanded from her feet, inscribed with complex glyphs. Moments later, a second sigil hovered above her chest, gently pulsing.

Then came the white holographic screen—crisp and smooth, unlike anything seen before. Blue text began scrolling down in elegant formatting:

  > \[Scan Complete.]

  > \[Subject: Lumina]

  > \[Virus: None Detected]

  > \[Fatigue: Moderate]

  > \[DNA Stability: Fully Preserved]

  > \[Replication Errors: 0%]

  > \[Conclusion: Cellular Aging Halted.]

  >

  > **\[Immortality Confirmed.]**

For a moment, no one said anything. The screen slowly faded into sparkles that danced into the air.

Kairyuuha lowered his hand, and slowly looked up at her.

“You’re safe,” he whispered. “You’re not going to age anymore.”

  Lumina’s eyes began to water. “You mean… I won’t die… early?”

“No,” Kairyuuha said firmly, stepping forward and placing both hands on her shoulders. “You’ll live, Lumina. Just like the rest of us. You’ll grow no older than this, and you’ll stay with us. I swear it.”

She buried her face into his chest. “Thank you, Papa… I was so scared…”

He hugged her close, his heart finally at peace.

From the side, Kazuki smiled faintly. “He did it.”

Yuno let out a long breath. “The insane part is… I think this might just be the beginning.”
