*Chapter 39: The Formation of the Elderly, Weak, Sick, and Disabled Team

Lin Junru remained in Xia Zheqin's room.

As the new world began, when the two emerged from the same room, Lin Junru shyly leaned into Xia Zheqin's embrace. Everyone understood the implication, but no one bothered to comment.

Mu Xin frowned but ultimately said nothing.

It was Qin Wei Yi who took the initiative to approach Jian Fan. "Congratulations on gaining a new teammate?"

Jian Fan responded with a nonchalant "Mm." However, his emotions were not as calm as he appeared; seeing Xia Zheqin and Lin Junru's intimacy made him furrow his brow.

Qin Wei Yi didn’t notice, but Qin Nan, who had been beside Jian Fan, saw everything clearly. He glanced at Xia Zheqin and then back at Jian Fan, a somewhat perplexing thought rising in his mind.

Could Jian Fan and Xia Zheqin have some emotional entanglement? Otherwise, why would Jian Fan care about Xia Zheqin changing partners? The fact that Xia Zheqin's former partner had been eliminated and now Lin Junru was stepping in seemed surprising yet somewhat logical to Qin Nan.

  But Jian Fan...

"What are you looking at me for?" Jian Fan asked, unable to hold back after Qin Nan's gaze lingered too long.

Qin Nan withdrew his gaze, clearing his throat awkwardly. "Nothing, just pondering the relationship between you and Xia Zheqin."

  Jian Fan remained silent.

Qin Nan had anticipated that Jian Fan wouldn’t share the story of his past with Xia Zheqin. Yet, the more Jian Fan stayed quiet, the more curious Qin Nan became. As someone who made a living online, his thoughts were progressive, and he had often made quips about romantic dramas. So... the question arose: what kind of relationship did Jian Fan and Xia Zheqin have?

"Do you have a grudge against Xia Zheqin?" Mu Xin asked, surprised.

Her voice interrupted Qin Nan’s train of thought.

"Just personal matters; it won't affect anything," Jian Fan replied briefly.

Mu Xin wasn’t curious; as long as it didn’t impact her, she didn’t mind. She nodded and didn’t press further.

The bus to the new world reappeared.

Xia Zheqin was the first to take Lin Junru onto the bus, choosing the front seats. His entourage followed closely, then Qin Wei Yi and Lu Jing boarded together, sitting in a row. Jian Fan and Qin Nan still sat together, while Mu Xin took a seat in the row in front of them.

  Lastly, there was Xu Tian.

She remained solitary, but compared to her earlier demeanor, she seemed much colder now. If she had initially appeared as a trendy cool girl, she now resembled a cold beauty.

The nine of them took their seats.

They were still waiting for three more players to arrive.

Before the three players showed up, Jian Fan surprisingly spoke up to introduce two of them. "The person next to Xia Zheqin is called Qian Xing; don’t underestimate him."

"Qian Xing?" Qin Nan perked up at the name before saying, "He didn’t seem to stand out before."

"Pay attention to him, and you'll understand what I mean," Jian Fan advised.

Qin Nan nodded, then asked, "Why didn’t you mention this earlier?"

  Jian Fan fell silent.

Qin Nan immediately understood, snorting softly. In the first world, he was merely Jian Fan's temporary teammate, and in the previous world, he had only qualified as a teammate after passing Jian Fan's test.

Only teammates received such friendly warnings from Jian Fan.

  What about Mu Xin?

Qin Nan felt a bit disgruntled. Why did Mu Xin get that information after just one world? Was it gender discrimination?

"One shouldn't be too input method-oriented," Qin Nan muttered to himself, his peripheral gaze landing squarely on Jian Fan.

Hearing that name, Jian Fan showed no significant reaction and replied, "Nickname, canceled out."

Tsk. Qin Nan sighed in disdain. He had merely given Jian Fan a nickname, yet Jian Fan had wasted an entire world of trust! However, Qin Nan only said it out loud and didn’t bother to argue further.

If it was canceled, so be it.

Mu Xin chuckled. "Input method? Is that the nickname you gave him? It’s quite fitting."

After all, the input method allowed for the selection between simplified and traditional characters—Jian Fan and simplified characters, indeed fitting.

"Right?" Qin Nan grinned. "I think my nickname is great, input method." He emphasized once more.

Jian Fan suddenly looked at Qin Nan.

"What?" Under Jian Fan’s intense gaze, Qin Nan felt an uneasy premonition and subtly distanced himself, contemplating whether to sit with Mu Xin instead.

Jian Fan’s expression remained unchanged. "I’ve thought of a name for our team."

  Qin Nan’s uneasy feeling intensified.

He didn’t speak, but Mu Xin, intrigued, asked, "What is it?"

"Elderly, Weak, Sick, and Disabled," Jian Fan replied.

  Qin Nan: "…"

  Mu Xin: "…"

"Look at you, with that frail body, aside from being old, weak, sick, and disabled almost covers it. Mu Xin, being a young girl, can barely be considered weak. What do I have to do with elderly, weak, sick, and disabled? I'm neither old nor weak, and definitely not sick or disabled," Qin Nan protested.

Jian Fan smirked, pointing to his head. "Disabled in here."

  Qin Nan: "…"

Compared to Mu Xin and Jian Fan, he admitted his IQ might be a bit low, but surely it wasn’t to the point of being disabled, right?

"Be careful, Jian Fan," Qin Nan threatened.

Jian Fan’s eyes twinkled with amusement as he explained, "You’re a new player, not well-versed in the Death Realm, lacking experience; that’s your drawback."

Qin Nan reluctantly accepted this explanation.

Mu Xin found it quite amusing. "I’m weak, Jian Fan is sick, and Qin Nan is disabled. Perfect! If we find an old person as a teammate, that would truly be the Elderly, Weak, Sick, and Disabled team. It’s quite misleading and fits my style."

"Mm." Jian Fan didn’t deny it. "The inspiration for this name came from you."

"Alright, then let’s work together as the Elderly, Weak, Sick, and Disabled team to conquer this Death Realm!" Qin Nan enthusiastically accepted the team name, brimming with confidence.

Mu Xin laughed. "Elderly, Weak, Sick, and Disabled; may our cooperation be pleasant."

"Pleasant cooperation," Jian Fan echoed, a smile tugging at his lips.

In the cheerful atmosphere among the three, the three additional players they were waiting for finally arrived.

This time, there were no new players; the three boarded the bus together, clearly having come from the same world. They looked noticeably fatigued, as if their previous world had been quite brutal, even after resting.

Among the three, there was indeed an elderly woman with a head full of silver hair.

Mu Xin turned around first, locking eyes with Qin Nan.

Could they really be forming an Elderly, Weak, Sick, and Disabled team?

Actually, there was no need to fulfill their wish so readily.
