Chapter 9: The Tyrant of the Dining Hall

  ♂?,,

When Lin Fei opened his eyes again, he found himself in the prison infirmary once more. Unfortunately, this time there was a full IV drip hanging beside him, probably changed by the doll-faced doctor while he was unconscious. It seemed that he wouldnt be able to see her busy self this time.

The following week, Lin Fei spent his days in the first cafeteria and prison infirmary. At night, the Battle God system in his mind simulated some fighting training moves for Lin Fei to learn. During the day, Lin Fei practiced what he had learned by going to fight with the prisoners in the first cafeteria.

During this time, Lin Fei saw Ouyang Feng, the intern doctor, three more times. However, each time her expression was more haggard and resentful than before. She said that in the prison, they had given a nickname to the group of prisoners who were responsible for the violent assault in the first cafeteria - "Cafeteria Tyrant".

Of course, Ouyang Feng still doesnt know that the person she has been chatting with these few times is actually Lin Fei, the tyrant of the cafeteria. However, Lin Fei feels that this title "cafeteria tyrant" is too unpleasant to hear, not elegant at all, and not cool either. If someone who didnt know him heard it, they would think he was just a big eater, like a fatso. Dont let him find out that it was that stupid person who gave him this unpleasant nickname, or else hell be in for it.

When Lin Fei appeared in the first cafeteria with an iron ball on the eighth day, all the prisoners eating in the cafeteria were only over 300 people. More than 200 other people either stayed in the prison infirmary or refused to come for breakfast in their cells.

The remaining three hundred or so people were all injured, some with broken arms and others with broken legs. The entire cafeteria was filled with crutches and white bandages, giving off a strong smell of medical disinfectant. The first cafeteria now looked like a rehabilitation center for the disabled.

This time, after Lin Fei ate his fill, no matter how he taunted or provoked, all the prisoners treated him as if he didnt exist. Even when he physically assaulted several prisoners beside him, they simply lifted their legs and ran away. Those who couldnt run just lay on the ground pretending to be dead, refusing to get up, let alone fight back against Lin Fei.

"War God System, look at this, does it count as me fulfilling the requirement of group-fighting the entire cafeteria prisoners and indirectly completing this task goal?" Lin Fei proudly said to his brains War God System.

The War God system did not respond, which was tantamount to acknowledging Lin Feis growth.

Without any opponents, Lin Fei called his cellmate Pangzi over and handed him a metal ball. Because of his relationship with Lin Fei, Pangzi had not been spared from beatings by the people in the cafeteria for several days.

Fortunately, he has thick skin and flesh, and Lin Fei didnt lay a hand on him. Several times during the fight, Lin Fei even took care of him a few times. He only had his arm bandaged with a few strips of gauze, without any broken bones or missing limbs. This kind of injury is considered minor in this dining hall full of wounded people.

The rest of the story is quite natural, Lin Fei became the boss of the first cafeteria in Karl Prison.

The original big shot of the First Canteen died not long before Lin Fei came to this prison. As for the cause of death, there were many rumors circulating. Some said he was killed by several angry inmates who had been bullied by him all along. Others said it was because he liked men and ended up dying like that. There were also those who said he committed suicide in preparation for reincarnation.

After finishing breakfast, Fat Brothers prison mate started handing over metal iron balls to Lin Fei, who walked towards his own cell.

Fat boy fellow inmates introduced Lin Fei to the distribution of prisoner forces in Karl Prison, with a total of three canteens. In some sense, there are three big bosses. Now Lin Fei is the boss of the first canteen.

However, Lin Feis subordinates are now mostly disabled due to fractures and injuries, and they will be of no use for a short period of time.

The entire Karl Prison held three types of prisoners, who were divided by the cafeteria. The first prison cafeteria held normal human prisoners, the second cafeteria held prisoners who had taken cellular alteration fluids or were biochemical humans, and the third cafeteria held prisoners who had undergone metal limb transplants, with most having metal parts on their bodies.

Among them, the Third Canteen has the strongest fighting power, but they are small in number and often excluded.

Soon, Lin Fei returned to his own cell, and it had been almost half a month since he last returned to his own cell. Lin Fei could finally see the bed that was not in the infirmary.

Lin Fei lay on the bed, ready to sleep well. The fat prisoner introduced Lin Fei as one of the three major canteen bosses among prisoners. As a normal human prisoner and the boss of the first canteen, he had some privileges, which meant that when he didnt want to go out for activities, he could rest in his own cell, also known as sleeping.

  --

When Lin Fei woke up, it was already noon. The fat prisoner friend brought back some food, and surprisingly, it wasnt the unpalatable synthetic food, but simple rice dishes.

Hearing Fat Brothers friend say that this is the benefit of becoming the head of the cafeteria. Lin Fei thought that being the head of the cafeteria was indeed good, and the first thing to improve was the food.

However, Fatso also told Lin Fei a piece of news.

Every month, the three major canteens will select people to participate in a martial arts competition. Each canteen sends two representatives to engage in a life-and-death battle. The winner can obtain some living necessities, food, fruits, cigarettes, liquor and other hard-to-get items in prison. Moreover, the winning canteen will have good meals for the next month.

The first cafeteria has been losing continuously for many games and has always been eating difficult-to-digest synthetic food.

The defeated teams were either heavily injured or dead. The two people selected to participate were chosen by the cafeterias leader. As for the fighting time, it was scheduled for tonight.

"War for food", this is a widely spread word in Karl prison.

"Boss, who are you planning to send to the life-and-death arena tonight?" Fatso asked Lin Fei respectfully.

"Lets just fight it out, whoever wins will be the winner anyway. Its a good opportunity to get some cigarettes and wine back." Lin Fei smiled and said to his sidekick, Pangzi.

With a "clunk", Fatsos cellmate was so startled by Lin Feis words that he dropped the metal ball he was holding in his hand.

"No way, boss! The life-and-death arena is notorious for its shocking mortality rate. Are you trying to get me killed? Sure, the boss can fight well, but among the death row inmates in Karl Prison, there are several tough guys in the second and third dining halls who arent even normal humans."

"Captain should choose teammates who can actually help on the field. Look at my physical condition and weight, whats the point of me going on the field?"

Fat boy said, starting to kneel down and hug Lin Feis thigh, crying and begging.

"With this weight and so much fat, its simply an ideal fatty armor, can go on stage to attract firepower"

"Alright, stop crying. Ill take care of you. You wont die, at most youll be disabled. Whats there to fear? This is a great opportunity that others would kill for, and Im giving it priority consideration. Think about it, after we win, we can smoke and drink freely, and have delicious food - much better than the synthetic food we have now." Lin Fei tried his best to comfort his chubby cellmate.
