Zorba stretched his legs, it was good to feel the 0.7 gravity under his feet but he was debating whether or not to switch it off to conserve power. They had already lost 70% of the H5 due to destabilisation.
Their active sensors were still off line and their passive units were providing limited information. They still had no idea where they were and they had failed to raise the Resolute.
“Got them sir.” Bores walked into the bridge. “Try that Collins.”
“Active sensors on.” Collins smiled.
“I think I have an idea where we are sir.” Mag walked in from the map room and called up a map of the galaxy on the small 3D laser screen in the bridge. The model of the Milky Way slowly rotated on the table.
“All ears.” Zorba nodded. Mag would have made a good commander, still may if they ever got back, he mused.

“Here, nearly twenty five thousand light years from earth.” Mag pointed at the virtual map. She then pulled up a closer map of the galaxy. “We don’t have much detail on this area, but there is a Nebula 32 light years from here, it is the closest body the passives have picked up.”
“32 lights years, Bores, do we have the H5 to get there?” Zorba looked around.
“Give me a couple of hours.” Bores looked around. “We haven’t finished with all the systems yet.”
“Nothing on the active sweep, do you want me to send out a high energy message for the Resolute?” Collins asked.
“No, we have no idea who is listening.” Zorba answered as he rubbed his eyes. They were in enemy space, or at least non-friendly space.
“Sir, I can handle the bridge, I strongly suggest you get some sleep, you haven’t slept since we slipped through.” Mag stood up to the slightly shorter Zorba. She used as much of her statue as possible, Zorba was not an easy man order. Zorba looked up, it was the first time he saw a hint of hesitation in Mag, was he really that fearsome?
“The bridge is yours.” Zorba was too tired to argue. He stood up and head back to his cabin. He stepped inside and looked around, it was just as he had left it when he had doing his ‘paper work’. Already that felt like a very long time ago. He was a captain again and he smiled. Again he wondered if that was wrong.
