Chapter Twelve: The Precious Sword of a Hundred Battles

When Uncle Rivado handed me the golden horn of Angle and pointed to a large yellow stone under the bed, telling me that I could take it away, I was so excited that I almost fainted.

Many times before I came to Uncle Riveras house, I never thought that the stone he used as a stool was actually that piece of copper ore!

Fine copper ore is very precious, generally speaking, its the core part of copper veins that has a little bit of fine copper ore, which is formed after high temperature and high pressure with super high density and quality. Its hardness is much harder than ordinary iron ore. The weapons made from fine copper ore are generally not unknown.

With a mighty effort, I heaved the massive boulder out of the way. Seeing my triumphant grin, Rivardo chuckled heartily - helping others was always the greatest joy for dwarves.

I brought the refined copper ore to the refining furnace, but I didnt rush to crush it. Instead, I sat on a large stone and recalled the Hundred Wars Treasure Sword I had seen in books. You see...the Hundred Wars Sword Technique is used in conjunction with the Hundred Wars Treasure Sword, so...there can be no deviation whatsoever in the specifications of the sword.

Finally... Ive figured out everything about the Hundred Wars Treasure Sword. From the soil pile next to the smelting furnace, I scooped up some soil, added water, and mixed it into a dough-like mud ball.

Dont underestimate these clays, they are all specially processed by the dwarf tribe and have a very fine texture, making them the best material for making molds.

After kneading the mud, I picked up a silver tin, which is a special metal with a melting point of less than 100 degrees, and its the best material for making models.

I took the hammer and began to shape the tin into the form of a hundred-battle treasured sword that I had imagined, the tribal elder grandfather frowned as he looked at what I was forging, completely unsure what this thing was supposed to be, it didnt look like a sword, nor did it look like a knife, it seemed straight yet curved, seemed curved yet still straight, the entire blade gave off an air of strangeness.

I am patiently and meticulously carving the silver-tin-made Baizhan treasure knife, I know... whether the model is standard or not directly determines the shape of the Baizhan treasure knife after molding, a difference of one thousandth of an inch can lead to a mistake of thousands of miles!

Its just like an old lady embroidering flowers, Im carefully carving this model made of tin alloy, and finally... after spending a whole morning, a uniquely shaped, specially crafted treasure knife was born! Of course... this is only a tin alloy model, if I want to turn it into a real treasure knife, I still have a lot of work to do!

After completing all the work, I put the treasure knife into a tall and thin wooden bucket, then poured the mixed mud into the wooden bucket, and took it to the edge of the stove to bake at a temperature of 50-60 degrees. The characteristic of this mud is that it will never crack or dry out; otherwise, ordinary mud would have cracked badly after being baked like this.

Next... I put the coke into the blast furnace, lit the fire, and ordered ten Bistate beasts to start blowing air into the furnace. Before long... under the efforts of the Bistate beasts, the coke was burned bright red, and you could feel the temperature inside the furnace from a distance!

But... its still a ways off from the temperature needed to actually start smelting. What I need to do now is crush the malachite into uniform particles and then toss them into the furnace.

I didnt bother with the bellows for smelting furnace, I took a big hammer and started crushing the fine copper ore from Uncle Vivaldo!

No wonder its a high-quality copper ore, its hardness is astonishing, shaking my hands numb. The high-quality copper ore doesnt seem to be affected at all. I spat two mouthfuls of saliva into the palm of my hand, gritted my teeth, and swung down the large hammer heavily.

  Dong! Dong! Dong......

One loud noise after another, finally... the stubborn copper ore was finally broken down under my efforts, slowly turning into evenly sized small pieces, next... I can start smelting now.

Load all the ore into an iron basket, pour it one by one into a smelting furnace that has been burned to red hot, cover with a lid, seal the opening with mud, and leave only a smoke vent for ventilation.

The next afternoon and evening, ten stupid beasts kept blowing air into the furnace. The melting point of refined copper was too high, until the next morning, they finally melted one by one!

After releasing the copper water from the furnace, I started refining again without hesitation and repeated it for a week. According to the patriarchs words, the purity of the refined copper is now basically 99.9999%, and its impossible to further increase its purity!

Until then, the remaining fine copper was only left with a fist-sized piece, which I carefully collected and placed in my treasure box along with the fist-sized black iron ore.

My treasure box is a large wooden chest, which I got from the next doors Xia family. Now there are three things in this box. One is what the patriarch grandpa gave me, said to be a silver-gray crystal stone as big as my fist when they found me, holding it in my arms. Another one is a piece of dark iron ore as big as my fist, and the last one is the refined copper ore that I just refined!

Three pieces of ore, each one heavier than the last. The heaviest is a silver-gray crystal stone, followed by dark iron ore, and finally, fine copper ore... these will be the materials Ill use to forge my True Hundred Battle Sword in the future!

After refining so many times, the refined copper ore is still a good thing. Although its not as good as the piece of copper ore I collected, its much better than ordinary copper and even iron. And they are the materials for me to forge my first treasured sword!

Throw all the eliminated pure copper ore back into the smelting furnace, I started the final smelting. When the temperature of the furnace reached the melting point of pure copper again, my treasure sword was about to be born!

At this time... the mud in the long wooden bucket with silver and tin had dried up, took out the mud from the bucket, and then put it on the smelting furnace to burn. Suddenly... all the silver and tin inside flowed out. After a while, when the copper water of the fine copper ore came out, pour it into this mold, my Hundred Wars Sword was completed!

Finally... Under my anxious waiting, the smelting furnace finally reached the temperature of dissolving pure copper. I excitedly took the mold to the pouring outlet below the furnace and used an iron poker to open the bottom of the furnace. Suddenly... The bright red molten pure copper slowly flowed out, flowing into the mold through the small holes on its surface!

After the mold was filled, I quickly sealed the small hole with soft mud and swiftly carried the mold to the edge of a previously dug pit. Then, I rapidly buried it under layers of fine sand until a small mound was formed before stopping.

Several hours later, I dug open the soft mud with a trowel. At this time... the mud had become very hot, but... I couldnt care about that much. Wearing heat-resistant gloves made of slime skin, I excitedly scooped out the mold made of mud.

Holding the large clod tightly, I quickly ran to the hard ground and slammed it down with all my might. With a dull thud, the clod shattered into pieces!

A clod of earth burst open, and a long, yellowish blade rolled out from within. Haha... this is my trusty battle knife!

I couldnt care less about the scalding heat, I rushed over quickly, grabbed the Bǎizhàn treasure knife on the ground, and examined it carefully. Haha... not a single bit was out of shape, exactly the same as the one made of silver tin, no wonder they were cast from the same mold!

The hundred-battle knife is actually very similar in shape to the warriors knife, only... on its basis, it has been slightly modified to make it more suitable for chopping!

The blades edge is not the usual sharp and smooth, but a serrated tooth-like structure, each tooth extremely sharp and thick, at first glance... it looks like a carpenters saw!

The shape of the blade has also changed slightly, with a hollow blood groove, but retains the sharp tip of the samurai sword, and many special attacks rely on it!

The entire knife weighs 40 kilograms, made entirely of fine copper, with a small arc on the blade. While its good for chopping, the blade also moves very flexibly, making it my treasured knife that I must use in a short period of time!

The next step is simple, its just repeatedly forging the treasured sword, decorating and perfecting it. This process is monotonous yet complex, and its also the most crucial part of making a weapon. Whether a weapon is good or bad depends on this step!

If one desires to improve his craft, he must first sharpen his tools. As mentioned earlier, the dwarves weapons are never ground, but instead forged with a hammer to create a sharp blade. Because they are hammered out, they are more solid and durable than those that are ground.

I will wield this treasured sword of mine, again and again, tirelessly repeating the strikes until I possess the true Hundred Battle Sword. Before that day comes, I will use this very sword to conquer the world!

A week later, a cold light flashing hundred-battle treasure knife appeared in my hand, it was no longer a semi-finished product, but an absolutely perfect work of art!

The reason I dont forge my true hundred-battle sword now is that my current forging skills are still lacking, and the minerals I have are also scarce. I only have mystic iron ore, refined copper ore, and that unknown silver-gray crystal stone. Apart from these... I dont have any other materials, and I wont consider using ordinary materials.
