After my talk to Serne, we came closer to a town, at which I teleported away.
I guess Serne is my advisor or something now.
To prevent me from destroying everything, which I wouldn’t do!
But I guess he can’t read my mind.
It’s probably better that he can’t, don’t want him getting a peak into some of my weirder thoughts.
What to do now?
I planned on checking in on Aster again, but it’s only been a little bit.
A few hours probably.
I’ve felt bored a lot lately, and I think I found a solution!
In my past, I would find cool trinkets interesting, even collected some sometimes.
Novelty is quite fun.
Flying and similar things are activities that I can do anytime, magic though…
I don’t really understand how it works, and it seems to have some interesting properties.
I could find some interesting trinkets and copy them.
Or pay via immortality.
Or super strength.
Or something else.
But where to find these trinkets?
Apparently people can spot my outside form, so I shouldn’t expand my view and search through things.
Or maybe I should, how could they pinpoint me?
But if I do, whoever has interesting trinkets might be confused at the soul encompassing entire cities.
Maybe I’ll just teleport to a random city.
I move myself, and find myself in a nice kinda quaint city.
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
It’s full of all sorts of people beyond just human looking ones.
There are humans, beast men, people with horns(demons?), blue people, green people.
Perfect fantasy city!
There are even people with wings.
There are ghosts I think as well.
I walk through the city, asking people where I could find a shop that sells fun magical trinkets.
Most seem wary, perhaps because of my clothes?
Anyway, I’m still directed to a shop with stained glass windows and a wizened horned wizard reading a book.
Okay, maybe not a wizard per se, but a man with a wizard hat.
As I walk in, there is a chime.
It happens after I open the door, so it must be related to me actually coming in.
He looks at me with curiosity in his green eyes.
I wave at him and say “hi! I hear you have fun trinkets. Is this true.”
He nods and gestures at the store, “I have all manner of interesting things. Tomes, artifacts, and trinkets as you say.”
I ask him, “do you have anything interesting for someone who doesn’t know much about magic.”
He turns and grabs a box with several figurines.
One of a princess, one of a dragon, and one of a knight, along with others.
He shows me the dragon first.
He turns it towards the knight, its mouth open directed at the knight.
Suddenly a little bit of fire comes out of the dragons mouth and flies at the knight.
The tiny knight mechanically or magically reacts by bringing up their sword.
After the fire dies down, the knight still holds the sword in a blocking pose.
Slowly, the arm comes down.
I ask, “how does that work?”
The man responds, “it has to do with the heat causing the arm to move, something in the knight constricts pulling the arm up.”
Interesting, but I don’t really care about a cool action figure.
The dragon is pretty cool with the fire.
I ask, “do you have anything similar to the dragon? Something more gimmicky preferably.”
He nods and moves to the back, grabbing a box with a strange glow.
He pulls a weird glass object, a cylinder with a dome at the top.
He puts it down, It makes a thudding sound.
Why is he not being careful with the glass??
Is it enchanted as well?
The man puts his hand on the top of the glass, causing glowing writing to appear on the surface, along with a hologram type thing floating above it.
He shows me how the glass can do multiple things.
It can shoot fireballs, create illusions that encompass part of the room, and can shrink into a ring.
The ring still weighs as much as the original object though.
After showing me the object, he has me try as well.
Nothing happens when I put my hand on the object.
He looks at me and asks “do you have no magic in you?”
I think for a moment, kind of ignoring his question.
I probably don’t have much magic in me, I made this body without magic in mind, and in a place with no magic.
I could do the same thing to myself that I did to Serne’s legs.
I project, incredibly magical to my body.
My body starts to glow a red hue like my fur, and I put my hand on the glass object.
It cracks and the man just stares at me.
I confusedly stare at the object and say, “it broke. Why?”
He responds while observing me more carefully, “it can only accept so much magic, it’s made to work even with very little.”
He moves his gaze up and down me.
“How?” he asks, “how did you overload it? And why do you have the magic of a great sage.”
What?
The magic of a sage?
That sounds like a lot.
Should I tell him what I am and run away?
Probably not, I need to find a way to pay for this thing I broke.
Or I could just project fixed.
I project fixed on the object, and it quickly shifts back into place.
I look at him and ask, “how much for that.”
He moves his gaze to outside the window and says, “14 gold”
14 gold? How much is that in copper.
I don’t want to do that that math, nor copy a bunch of gold.
A wish is probably easier.
I tell him, “I’ll give you a wish if you give me it.” then I quickly add, “a reasonable wish.”
He looks at me again, and just shakes his head, “if you can grant it right now, then sure.”
I nod, he says, “I want great magical power, beyond that of a sage.”
What?
That sounds unreasonable for an object such as this.
But I think I can easily do this.
I look at him, put my paw out for a handshake and say “deal!”
He looks at my paw at then back at my face, “what are you doing?”
I respond, “a handshake! Shake my paw for the deal to be complete!”
He shakes my paw with both of his hands.
I project magical power beyond the realm of a sage onto him.
He starts glowing bright green, brighter than I am right now.
Then he stops glowing, except his eyes.
His eyes are a piercing green, maybe capable of cutting a man down with a single look.
He looks surprised, guess he didn’t expect this to actually work.
But why was he indulging me then?
Whatever, I quickly grab the glass object and wave farewell as I walk out the door.
