Seeing who was in the taxi cab, Mina wanted to scream and run in a dramatic fashion, complete with her hands over her head. No way was she going to share a taxi with a half robot prosecutor programmed to destroy her and the very man who had controlled all of the crooks she had fought against in court.
But right when she was about to slam the door and run away, D. Vito chuckled. "Where ya going pally. We're all going to the same place!"
Mina's lip trembled. Once again, she wanted to run, but at last, D added, "Come on, take a ride with your ole pally one last time. Don't you want to reminisce about when we were friends. Before you KILLED my son!"
Mina froze and glared hostilely at D. Vito. "And your son killed my boyfriend. And who knows how many innocent people you've killed along the way to become the leader of the Aura."
There was a darkness in D. Vito's eyes that she hadn't seen, even in the other crooks. It was a hollow look like he was already dead inside. "Like I said, pally. We're all going to the same place. Whether it be da court room or to be roasted by the fires of hell itself."
At last, Mina gave in and climbed into the car. She prayed he wasn't going to try any funny business.
As soon as she strapped herself in, ready to ride the highway to hell, D. started to roll in the direction of the Hall of Lawson. "Ya know, pal," he said, casually. "I could easily put you ten feet under. Or even 100 feet under. But I won't. For two reasons."
Mina pursed her lips and glared daggers at the scoundrel. She couldn't even believe she trusted him with life advice. He was a bonafide criminal.
"One. Because I genuinely had some good times with youse. Being an undercover cab driver isn't the most interesting line of work, but if ya don't want da authorities to catch on, you gotta hide yerself well to pull strings. So I thank you for making all those 8 am cab rides more easy for me."

"And the second," Mina asked. She felt all icky thinking of all those heart to dark heart talks they had.
"Well," D. Vito said, laughing coldly. "I was once a lawyer. And you are currently a lawyer. And it bemuses me to no end to see how you're gonna wiggle out of dis one. Because you can't."
Mina lunged forward in her seat, only being held back by the belt. "I can!" she cried. "Just you watch me."
"You're a little pink worm, kiddo. And nobody is gonna let you off the hook. I'm gonna make sure dis big fishy next to ya gets the worm!"
Mina turned her head to the Dark Persecutor. He was sitting silently, his haphazard breathing charging the air. "You really think this robot can beat me?"
Vito chuckled again. "He isn't just a robot, kid. He is the best prosecutor there was...until he died."
Mina paused, her brain attempting to process the words Vito had just said. He was a dead prosecutor? So a zombie or...?
Vito spoke again, nonchalantly. "Oh dis guy wasn't just a prosecutor. He was a noble gentleman. He was quite caustic, but also a true chad with the ladies. Dis I didn't know until I heard it from you kid."
Suddenly, Mina's eyes shot right open, cracked with bloody veins. Her head slowly turned to the Dark Prosecutor as her body trembled in fear.
He was a noble gentleman. Caustic, but a gentleman. And she had told D. Vito this himself.
"Blind..." she squeaked, mortified and pale.
The Dark Prosecutor shook his head. "NEGATIVE. I DON'T GO BY THAT MONIKER ANYMORE. I AM A PERSECUTOR."
Blind Justice has been resurrected from the grave through the horrors of modern technology to serve as her opponent.
Now Mina knew why she couldn't find his spirit when she and Frieda tried to contact him from beyond the grave. Unfortunately, his tormented soul continued to roam the earth encased in a body of steel and wires.
"Willy..." Mina said, reaching out, hoping to pull off his helmet.
But he gripped her soft fleshy hand in his leather gauntlet and pushed it away.
"Well well," the monster D. Vito chuckled as he pulled in front of the courthouse. "Lookee here! We're here!"
