There is a word for it.
Teamwork.
And there is a saying.
Nothing is absolute.
There is one more saying.
A team is only as strong as its weakest link.
All these statements ring true, with the third being an affirmation of the second's rule over the first.
As most people have heard, two heads are better than one, and in most cases, this is true.
In fact, it is more than true, but rather a fundamental fact.
Perhaps an example of "Nothing is absolute" being an affirmation of "Nothing is absolute."
Jokes aside, it is a true statement that nothing of value can be produced by one man or woman alone.
However, there is another fundamental fact.
That that fact only rings true when the hearts of those working together are of one mind.
This means, of course, that those who are not of the same mind and heart can not work together and will instead trample one another.
But there is yet more to this, as it is not always about butting heads.
At times, it can even describe people who do not know each other well enough.
And also, it can describe people in a shaken state.
A shaken state?
Imagine for a moment, a massive tsunami crashing onto a beach of unsuspecting people, perhaps having a normal day on the beach and chilling.
At that very moment before the water strikes, and after the people have realised there is danger, the people find themselves runnung away from the danger.
That is to be expected.
However, interestingly enough, it is in times like those that people's hearts are shaken.
In this state of absolute panic, they become prone to making incredibly wild decisions.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
All those on the beach make a mad dash for the exit will find themselves doing what one could even consider as inhumane.
Of course, this would not happen unless someone was in their way, but it is still an interesting thing to note.
While on an ordinary day, no one would ever attempt to murder anyone.
But, in a state of absolute chaos, it may not be all that shocking to hear of a man or a woman trampling another human if it would mean escaping certain death sooner.
Now, while one may place blame on such a person, one must always remember... that fear takes people straight out of their right mind, making them nonsensical in the deepest of terms.
The simple statement here being... they can not be of one mind... if they are currently losing theirs.
That was the massive advantage that Maximillian Hunter had over his adversary.
After all, having seen all that happen, it would almost be certain.
While the enemy was well aware of Max's location, the enemy was completely unaware of what to expect from Max.
Besides, who would blow themselves up?
That was straight up crazy.
Ken: (thinking: Well... Max.... what are you going to do?)
He would come up with a suggestion for Max, but no. He had other plans.
As for Max, he simply started scrolling through his inventory.
Ken: What are you looking for?
Max remained silent as he selected the grenades he'd kept.
Ken: Hmm?
Max: Grenades.
Ken: Intriguing.
The others watched at the edge of their seats.
What was Max going to do? Really, what was he going to do?
Max prepped his character's grenades and....
... threw them directly onto the wall.
Ken: Hmmm? (thinking: What is he... ?)
To better explain Ken's own confusion, one would need yet a better understanding of Warring Dimensia 2.
Like most games of its kind, there was a vast majority of weaponry. Be it guns, blades, grenades, missile launchers, und so weiter.
However, like many video games, even as advanced as Warring Dimensia 2 was, there was something of an interesting quirk to the game.
That being, that the wall was basically immortal.
What that meant was, that no amount of damage could destroy the wall.
Be it bullet, grenade, missile, even lasers.
Nothing could destroy it or any other wall, for that matter.
Some could be broken, of course. But that rule only held true for smaller walls.
And in this case, Max just so happened to be throwing grenades at the former rather than the latter.
That meaning... that Max's grenades would have no effect.
However, Max was planning on that.
Max's character suddenly rushed towards the wall and through the smoke.
Ken: (thinking: What in the...!?)
It was an exceptionally risky manouvre.
However, it paid off.
The result was exactly as Max had expected.
There lay not one, not two, but three completely befuddled players confusedly running about, almost as though debating their next action
All of them, as Max and Ken had earlier assumed, we're low on health.
And having been taken by surprise...
Max: Gotcha!
... they all fell.
And with that Max immediately stood up started fist pumping.
Max: I got it. That's right. I win. Booyah!
And he then briefly turned to Ken.
Max: Oh yeah... Thanks, Ken.
Ken: Hmm. Don't mention it.
As for the others...
Rose: That was amazing, Max!
Max: (proudly) Yeah...
Julianne simply took a sip and smiled.
Luke: Yeah, no kidding. That was pretty awesome.
Tiffany: Hmph. (thinking: Throwing grenades at a wall as a distraction...)
Luke: How'd you come up with that anyway?
Max: Oh that. Well... when I saw Ken blow himself up, I figured I could use the same thing to freak them out again.
Luke: I see...
Tiffany: (thinking: And he thinks on his feet.)
Julianne: (thinking: Hmmmm.. I... never realised he'd become so cunning.)
Max: And after that, it was just a matter of making sure to attack them where they least expect it. Right in front of them!
Ken: (thinking: To take such an absurd risk... Well... I suppose it did work. And also, it was my idea.)
He couldn't help but smile as he thought this.
Ken: (thinking: Maximillian Hunter. Turning a desperate situation into a hopeful one. I suppose I can say that I can count on you to pull that off.) By the way... Max?
Max: Hmm? Oh...
He immediately sat down and fell onto the controller, continuing to play.
In this man eat man world, it was an obvious thing.
If any players were left in the game, and they'd heard any grenades, they may or may not move in to kill Max.
And him, on his last legs......
Ken: Move to the corner on the right.
Max: Hmph!
The game was not over.
They'd achieved their goal, but no. The war would not be over until it was over.
That is Warring Dimensia 2.
And the battle raged on.
