Hey folks,
great to see you all are still around to read this note!
First of all, I wish you a happy new year and hope you had a nice holiday!
As promised after finishing Book 2, I wanna keep you up to date with what is happening around Starborn. Oh boy and there are great news incoming for you!
Before we dive into that however, I want to address a curiosity. I got surprisingly little activity on the final chapter of Arc II even though the number of active readers is still quite high. So, a small call to action: Please share your thoughts on the Starborn, the second Arc, predictions for the next book,... Getting feedback and knowing what you like/dislike helps me massively in optimizing my writing.
Now, to the juicy parts and why you all came here: Updates and News!
Well, I have finished the complete outline of Arc III and, more by accident and an uncharacteristic flash of genius, I even finalized the storybook for Arc IV, which will be the final Arc of Starborn. So: *yay* for finishing the planning of both books. Additionally I am back at the desk and happily writing away. Right now, I have finished the first five chapters and drafted the next 7.
That's the "Where are we right now?"-part. Hope you are happy with this - if not... well, too bad!
The next topic I wanna address is the promised reveal of the Arc III-cover and without further chitchat:
Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more.
A new cover... *yay*!
A new title... *yay*!
I promised more great news, so more is coming:
I have got to know , a professional editor! Woohoo! She already has done a test-chapter and we do match really well. So after deciding on the terms, I formally signed the contract already.
*Commitment* Yeahh!
For you that doesn't change that much however, at least for now. She starts with book 1 and book 2 is only scheduled for ~summer. So there is still some time before she catches up to book 3 and I don't wanna let you wait that long. You'll probably get the first half of the book in the usual quality before editing catches up. But, well, you came so far - I think you prefer to get the chapters a few months earlier instead of waiting for the editing to be done.
Last but not least:
My next update will be at the end of February. Right now I'm planning to hand out the first sub-arc of the third book to a few test-readers. So if you are interested in reading the first part of the book early on in exchange for your honest feedback, stay tuned and don't miss the next Update on Starborn!
That's it for my part - I hope you like what you've heard. Let me know in the comments!
Ah right: If you haven't done so already, please give this book a rating or maybe even a short review. That really helps a small book like this to gain some attention.
Have a great day,
Dusky
