In a few more days, some junior disciples sent over their disciple uniforms. Master Zhou told them that today at the Transmission Hall there would be a lecture by Master Shi Shu, starting from 7am to 3pm.
The disciples of Yunwu Mountain wore cyan robes with a few strands of clouds and the words "Yunwu Sect" embroidered on the cuffs. The clothes of these Qi-refining disciples were really not good-looking. Mo Tian Ge thought of the memory of Ye Jingwen wearing that one, which was indeed elegant and much better-looking than the Yunwu Sect's clothes. He then smiled at himself, indeed, a woman's nature is hard to change.
She tightened her chest, wrapped a few more turns around her waist, and put on the outer robe. She looked at herself in the mirror with satisfaction, not seeing any feminine appearance at all. For cultivators, using magic or spiritual instruments was not as safe as this method. However, she found it increasingly difficult to disguise herself. After the age of fifteen, the difference between her and men became more pronounced. Not only did she have to bind her chest and waist, but also imitate a man's voice. Fortunately, her voice was not sharp, so it wasn't easy for people to suspect anything.
After making sure everything was fine, she opened the door to find that the other three were already ready. As for Jiang Shanghang, he had long since gone his own way. He didn't fit in with them anyway, but it didn't matter. As cultivators, they weren't interested in forming friendships or anything like that. The reason the four of them always acted together was simply because Liu Yidao and Xu Jingzhi were very enthusiastic. Fortunately, apart from this, everyone else focused on their cultivation; otherwise, she would have also learned to be as carefree as Jiang Shanghang.
They arrived at the Transmission Hall, where everyone found a place to sit. Before long, a middle-aged Daoist who had built his foundation and was refining his spirit walked up onto the platform and sat down on the meditation mat in front of everyone. The crowd hastily stood up, bowed their heads, and paid their respects: "Greetings, Master Uncle."
The Taoist nodded: "Please sit down, all of you."
There were also several hundred people inside the Temple of Transmission. At this time, they were all quietly sitting on their meditation cushions, not a sound was heard.
The Taoist looked at them and said, "My Taoist name is Qingyu. This month, I will be lecturing on the Tao with my fellow disciples. Coincidentally, a new batch of disciples just joined us recently, so let's discuss the fundamental meaning of the Tao today. My fellow disciples, what does the Tao mean to you? And why do we cultivate immortality?"
Qing Yu Dao Ren finished speaking, and a disciple from the front row replied: "Reporting to Master Shu, the Tao is the principle of heaven and earth, cultivating immortality is for longevity."
Qing Yu Dao Ren nodded and asked: "Do any of you brothers have any objections?"
Someone else replied: "Reporting to Master Shu, I think that the Way is the origin, and cultivating immortality is for longevity."
"They're all right. The Tao gives birth to one, one gives birth to two, two gives birth to three, and three gives birth to the ten thousand things. This is the origin. The sun and moon are hidden, the four seasons take turns, in the dark and mysterious, all things follow their causes, this is the principle of heaven and earth. We cultivate immortality to pursue the Tao. Speaking of life and death, it's originally the way of heaven and earth, but seeking longevity is jumping out of life and death, why say we're still pursuing the Tao? It must be known that the way of heaven is eternal, what we seek is to eliminate life and death, and coexist with heaven. Therefore, cultivating immortality is both following heaven and going against heaven. All things have their rise and fall, we want to jump out of all things, which is going against heaven, so when cultivating immortality reaches its peak, there will be calamities to overcome, this is the reason why heaven and earth cannot tolerate it. However, after overcoming the calamities, flying up to the great Tao, is a thread of life left by the heavenly way for all living things, we cultivate immortality, just following the heavenly way to accept the test, this is following heaven. How to reach the state of following heaven in the process of going against heaven, is what our cultivation of immortality is all about..."
Everyone listened attentively, and Miao Tian Ge was even more focused. This theory of the Tao, she had never heard before. The path to immortality is diverse and varied, each person has their own understanding, what this Shifu said was different from what Ershu said.
Such a day passed in the blink of an eye, and by the time the lecture ended at dusk, all four of them had gained some insight. On their way back, Liu Yidao sighed: "I was able to embark on the path of cultivating immortality, which was already a coincidence. If someone had taught me like this back then, I wouldn't have been stuck in such a state for so long."
Liu Yidao, although a Four Spirit Root, has two excellent Spirit Roots. In theory, his innate talent is even better than Mo Tian Ge's. Mo Tian Ge is confident that he can reach the 10th layer of Qi Refining before the age of 25 and break through to the Foundation Establishment stage. Liu Yidao, on the other hand, is already over 30 years old, which shows that what was said is not empty words.
Xu Jingzhi smiled and said, "Brother Liu is only just over thirty, and still has a good chance of building his foundation before the age of forty. He's much better off than many people who have no hope of building their foundation in their entire lives."
Liu Yidao smiled upon hearing this and patted Xu Jingzhi's shoulder: "Younger brother Xu is right, I am already very lucky."
The four returned to their residence, each retreated to their room to meditate and reflect on today's epiphany.
After that, Mo Tian Ge's days also became calm. Every ten days, he would go with the crowd to listen to the lectures, and after returning home, he would focus on his cultivation. Every half month, he would go down the mountain and hand over the array he and his second uncle had researched to the sect's shop for sale, and then use the spirit stones they sold to buy medicine for his second uncle to heal his injuries.
Three months later, she successfully advanced to the eighth layer of Qi Refining. In these few months, she had a lot of elixirs on her body. The elixirs left by the man and woman in the forest, plus the prizes from the Fairy Platform Meeting, as well as the monthly allocation of elixirs and spirit stones from the sect. After finishing all the Nourishing Qi Elixirs, she finally advanced to the eighth layer.
This made Xu Jingzhi envious, he was originally at the 8th level, and now he hasn't even advanced yet, while Qin Xi has already advanced from the 9th to the 10th level. Among the five people in this house, it can be said that only he hasn't made progress. It's all because he frequently goes out on errands, these three months have been spent constantly going out, and there's no time for cultivation, let alone advancing levels. From now on, Xu Jingzhi has made up his mind to go into seclusion, unless it's absolutely necessary, he won't go out.
Xu Jingzhi was in seclusion, and the other three were also ascetics. Mo Tian Ge didn't need to interact with them, so every day he just practiced, studied formations, and occasionally went out to catch some wild game to satisfy his cravings. Life was quite carefree.
Activated Light Body Technique, Wind Blade was released, and the small deer running fell down.
Mó Tiān Gē flew over, picked up the small deer and threw it into the Qian Kun bag. He then went back along the original path, arrived at the stream bank, pulled out the deer's body, skinned and washed it clean.
Although the southern peak of Yunwu Mountain is much inferior to the northern peak, it is also a rare spiritual vein. The small animals caught here are better than those at the foot of the mountain.
First, let the blood drain and clean the internal organs, then peel off the skin, cut it into pieces, most of which are smeared with salt and wrapped in ling grass leaves stuffed back into the qiankun bag. Pick out a piece, draw a fine line on it, apply seasonings and roast over fire. The fire is for magic, that's what it's used for.
"Huh, sister, someone is roasting something here."
She turned her head and saw two female cultivators of the Refining Qi stage approaching, wearing the same cloud and mist sect attire. She had sensed their auras earlier, but this was Cloud Mist Mountain after all, where fellow disciples were everywhere.
She emerged from the pile of grass with a smile: "Greetings, two senior sisters."
She suddenly appeared, startling the two of them. The two women were both in their early twenties and looked quite good, especially the older sister, who could be considered a beauty.
The younger one glared at her and rebuked, "Which senior brother's disciple are you? How dare you be so rude?"
Moy Tian Ge was taken aback, and couldn't help but laugh bitterly. Just because he glanced at someone else for a moment, he was actually mistaken for a thief. He immediately said: "Sister, you misunderstood, I just wanted to secretly find a place to hide and roast something to eat, didn't expect to be discovered by the two of you, so I'm a bit worried..."
The reason is also acceptable, and the female fellow disciple said: "Don't worry, brother. We just smelled the fragrance and came to take a look out of curiosity. We won't tell anyone."
It doesn't matter if it gets out, anyway, Master Zhou won't care. Of course, she still had a smile on her face: "Thank you two senior sisters. Since we've met, let's just say we have fate, and coincidentally my venison is done roasting, why don't we eat together? Let's just consider it as compensation for scaring you both earlier."
She saw her being so polite and didn't mind anymore, smiling: "Brother, are you telling the truth? Or is it that you can't bear to part with it?"
Moye Song took out a large piece of venison from the Qiankun bag: "Sister, look, I still have a lot left, one person can't finish eating it."
Her craftsmanship is not to be bragged about, the deer meat is roasted to a golden yellow, the aroma wafts far and wide, making people's mouths water just by smelling it. This junior sister really doesn't want to leave, so she pulls her companion: "Senior sister, we..."
Sister Master sighed and said: "We don't know this junior master at all, how can we..."
"What's wrong with him, he himself said sorry to us."
"Right." Mo Tian Ge smiled and took over the conversation, "Sister, don't hesitate, let's just say I was caught sneaking food, so I'll bribe you guys instead."
The junior sister clapped her hands in delight and had a great increase in good feelings: "Younger brother is right. Eldest sister, don't be polite to him anymore."
Sister can't say anything else, she had to go by herself.
The three of them got to know each other. It turned out that these two female cultivators were actually disciples of Lin Shifu, the one from the girls' institute. From their mouths, they learned that Lin Shifu's name was Lin Qingwan, and she was also a well-known foundation-building cultivator in the Yunwu Sect. In fact, she didn't live on South Peak, but rather managed all these female disciples on South Peak. The person who actually took care of things for her was this very Shenyin sister, Shen Bing. This younger sister's name was Murong Yan, and she was Lin Shifu's junior disciple.
After chatting with them, Mo Tian Ge learned that Shen Bing was a dual-spirited root cultivator. This year, at just twenty years old, she had already achieved the perfect cultivation of refining her Qi. Mu Rong Yan also had the qualifications for three spiritual roots and was eighteen this year, with a cultivation level of eight layers in refining her Qi. As for Shen Bing, it was nothing out of the ordinary, but looking at Mu Rong Yan's temperament, one could tell that she must not be someone who is willing to endure bitter cultivation. Her spiritual root was also ordinary, yet she had already achieved an eighth-layer cultivation level, which goes to show that disciples from a sect have an advantage over individual cultivators.
Although Mo Tian Ge didn't intentionally try to get along with them, having more friends in the sect wouldn't hurt. After all, these two were also inner disciples of the Foundation Building stage. Moreover, she was really lonely and couldn't reveal her female identity, so she had to keep a distance from those male cultivators, making it difficult for her to meet other female cultivators. She often thought about when she was young with Tian Qiao together, yearning for such a friend.
Sometimes, in the quiet moments of her cultivation, she would think that if life were to start anew, would she choose to be an ordinary person with a peaceful life or come to the immortal realm and struggle to cultivate, struggling towards the path of longevity? If she were truly a man, perhaps there wouldn't be any hesitation, but as a woman, she was ultimately still emotional.
