Chapter 123 Claiming rewards

With no better options at the moment, William could only let out a long sigh.

Shifting his mood, he happily began to examine his spoils of war.

First came a massive pile of miscellaneous genetic samples, which he immediately ignored and tossed into storage—he’d analyze them when he had time.

Next was a literal mountain of assorted weapons and equipment. William gave them a rough glance.

Everywhere he looked was utter chaos—everything was damaged or incomplete.

Most of the recovered gear was covered in cracks and bite marks.

Helmets split in half, shields shattered into pieces, swords bent like pretzels, broken staves, cracked magic crystals—you name it.

They'd all have to be reforged before being usable again. Most could probably only be sold for scrap material prices.

As for the few that were still somewhat intact… they didn’t look much better. Worn out, chipped, scratched.

If he tried to sell them on the Divine Exchange Continent, they’d only fetch second-hand prices—definitely nothing impressive.

Seeing all this made William’s heart ache, but he could only console himself silently—At least it’s something. Better than nothing.

Then came the real highlight of his haul—the 50 million divine power he had already received as the championship reward. No need to say more about that.

Add to that the 12 million divine power from the school and the city, for a grand total of 62 million.

With that amount of divine power, William could once again buy more Thunder Drake bloodline cards.

He could also give a major upgrade to the stinger bug units, the current backbone of his ranged forces.

Finally, there was the chance to go to the logistics reward vault and select some rare resources.

Thinking about it, William couldn't help but feel excited about what treasures might be waiting for him in the vault.

He held back the urge to rush over immediately to check it out.

Instead, he got to work, wrapping up the post-battle cleanup.

All the disabled units missing limbs or severely damaged and unable to move needed to be recycled first.

Lightly and heavily injured units who could still fight and had a chance at recovery were separated out.

They’d need some time to heal before going into hibernation—otherwise, they might die during the process.

The rest—those fully fed, healthy, and unharmed—were finally assigned new hibernation spots.

It took William quite a while to reallocate them all properly.

Once everything was done, William looked over his now-calm divine domain and nodded in satisfaction.

The work here was finally done.

He let out a deep breath, coming out of his high-focus state.

Only then did he realize—three whole days had passed without him even noticing.

Just as he relaxed and was about to complain about how busy his two lives had been…

He suddenly sensed the arrival of Zous’s massive divine domain—teleporting in and appearing right next to his own.

Then Zous’s demigod form appeared just outside William’s divine domain barrier.

Zous was all smiles, radiating confidence and cheer, looking even more pleased than usual.

William immediately recognized that look—it was the same expression he used to wear in his past life when his lab achieved results, and he got to show off at corporate HQ meetings.

William merely smiled faintly and stepped out of his domain to meet Zous face to face.

What he really cared about was whether the divine power rewards from the school and the city had been approved.

When Zous saw him appear, he didn’t waste any time—he simply pulled out a sealed card and handed it to William.

“This is the 12 million divine power from the school and the city. Keep it safe.”

The moment William saw the card, a bright smile lit up his face. He quickly reached out with both hands and carefully took it.

He sent his divine sense into the sealed card to verify the amount—12 million divine power, confirmed.

Then he stored it safely within his demigod body.

“Zous, thank you so much for going through all this trouble.”

Zous just waved it off with a smile and said, pleased, “No need to thank me, William—this is what you earned.”

“Thanks to the great results you achieved in the Global Championship, the approval process from both the school and the city was completely smooth. Not the least bit of trouble.”

“Alright, I’ve got other things to take care of. You go digest your gains.”

With that, Zous casually waved goodbye and turned to leave—

Teleporting his divine domain away from the campus without a trace of hesitation.

Watching Zous leave in such a hurry, William couldn’t help but wonder—He’s probably off somewhere to brag again, huh?

Returning to his own divine domain, William—now that everything was in order—already had his next move lined up.

With divine power in hand, he had long planned out his next destination.

His demigod form shimmered, transforming into a glowing orb of light and appearing in the logistics center on Elvia Star, located within the Divine Exchange Continent.

It was a sleek, modern-style administrative building, bustling with other glowing orbs of light coming and going.

Since it was his first time here and he wasn’t familiar with the layout, William went straight to a staff member for help.

After explaining what he needed, the efficient staffer led him to an unoccupied service window and floated away.

The glowing orb behind the counter noticed William’s arrival and sent out a telepathic message:

“Hello, what kind of service do you need today?”

Hearing that question, an odd wave of déjà vu hit William right in the chest.

  He almost reflexively answered:

  Topping up my phone credit.
