The angels are not running towards the building, just moving to get a better view. However, enough of them have moved for me to spot a gap that I run towards. I only have a few seconds, but that is enough for me to reach the wall and jump over it.
Luckily, there don't appear to be any guards on the inside of the wall and I don't hear any shouts behind me. It looks like I actually got in without being noticed, I can't believe that worked. Now that I am inside the wall, I find the palace rather disappointing.
It is a large building, but it is blocky with no elegance at all, not what I would call a palace. In fact, to me it looks like something a child would build while playing with blocks. It seems that Holos has no imagination at all, he probably thinks that it is impressive just because it is big.
I don't know why I expected more from him, but I thought he would have a real palace. My hopes for finding nifty treasures are suddenly a lot lower now that I have seen this place. Still, I am already here, I may as well take a look around and see if there is anything.
In an attempt to be stealthy, I shapeshift down to my black bunny form. It is my smallest form and also the most innocent looking, but I doubt that will help. I hop around the palace grounds looking for a door into the palace.
It surprises me that there appear to be no guards at all, only those outside the wall. Holos might just be stupid enough to think that no one would ever date to try and steal from him. If so, I will be happy to give him an education, just not directly to his face.
Eventually finding a door, with no guards in sight, I head into the palace. The inside turns out to be just as weird as the outside, there is no artificial light. Meaning that anywhere there are no windows is completely dark, perfect for me to hide.
Even now that I am inside the palace, I still don't see any guards at all as I explore the place. The internal layout of the palace ends up being just as dull and unimaginative as the outside. There is a reception room, or throne room I guess, a locked room, and a large bedroom.
That is all there is inside, meaning the rest of this huge building is just solid stone. Not really believing my eyes, I send out a pulse of mana to double check, but it tells me the same thing. It does tell me one other interesting thing though, there is someone sleeping in the bedroom.
Curious, I hop quietly into the room and take a peek, but I also scream from shock. Lying on the bed is Holos, but he isn't asleep, he isn't even breathing. After getting over my shock, I move closer to try and figure out what is going on.

After a bit of study, I finally figure out what the body is, it is an inactive avatar. My guess would be that this is Holos emergency plan, if something goes wrong he can retreat to this body. Or switch places with it maybe, those are the two options I can think of anyway.
What interests me is that this is a prime avatar from what little I can tell. Meaning that if I kill it and take the body, the goddesses can steal some of Holos' power. However, I am almost positive that Holos will know the second it is killed.
Although, him suddenly rushing off in the middle of the meeting would make him look more suspicious. However, I am not going to give up on the angels and human souls for an avatar. Although, I may come back for it if the rest of the raid goes smoothly and I have time.
For now, I head back to the locked door that I found, that should be the treasury. When I take a look at the lock I find myself once again disappointed. The lock itself is rather ordinary and only has a single divine enchantment on it.
I check thoroughly, but there isn't even anything hidden behind the enchantment. No alarm, no nothing, it is far too simple to be protecting anything truly valuable. Still, my curiosity isn't about to let me leave without opening the door to see what is inside.
Removing the divine enchantment is fairly easy, it isn't all that complicated to begin with. After that, dealing with a common style lock is child's play and then the door opens. When I take a look inside I am both disappointed and excited at the same time.
The excitement comes from seeing the room being full of the silver ore. The disappointment comes from seeing nothing else besides the ore in the room. Where are all the treasures? Where are the divine items for me to steal?
I start shoveling ore into my ring, still holding out a faint hope to find something buried underneath it. However, even by emptying the entire room, I don't find anything else at all. Either Holos keeps his treasures on him, or he is a pathetically poor god.
Then again, I think I remember someone telling me that he was at the bottom of the pantheon. So I guess that it would make sense for him to be fairly poor, but it is still disappointing. I guess I will just have to be satisfied with the ore, the angels, and the human souls.
So, I leave the palace while being careful not to disturb the sleeping avatar. Then, once I am outside, I head for the main gate and attack the angels guarding it. This brings all the angels guarding this side of the wall running towards me.
As I am fighting the angels, I take a few steps back and stand under the gate. This prevents the angels from surrounding me, at least for the moment. If they stop to think about it, they will just fly over the wall to attack me from behind.
Of course, by the time they do that, I will have killed a lot of those attacking from the front. Luckily, they are mostly two-winged angels and aren't really able to hurt me. There were two four-winged angels guarding the gate, but I killed them first.
The angels in front of me don't figure it out, but unfortunately, they aren't the only angels. Our fight is too loud and attracts the angels from the other walls as well. I am soon surrounded by the angels and trapped beneath the gate.
At that point, I split the sword into two and start dancing among the angels. As angels fall they leave gaps that I can move into and get out from under the gate. Out in the open more angels can surround me, but I also gain more room to move.
