Mercy says “Oh, I was wondering why you were planning to leave before the wedding. I am glad you are not thinking about running away!”

  “I couldn’t even if I wanted to, Lin can track me no matter where I go.”

  Lin says “That’s right, you can never escape from me! I would chase after you even if I had to go into hell to get you!”

  “I am both flattered and yet terrified! Don’t worry, I have no plan to run off or disappear. I also won’t be going through any unknown gates!”

  Lin says “Good to know that you at least learned something from your previous mistakes. Although, I can’t really complain since it led to you meeting me.”

  “Yeah, it may not have been a planned trip, but I certainly gained a lot from it and I have no regrets.”

  Lin says “That is a good answer considering that you met two of your future wives on that little adventure. Speaking of, don’t you need to go visit Brightfire?”

  “Yes, I do, but I didn’t want to just run off without spending some time with the two of you.”

  Lin says “Just go, Mercy and I need to have some girl talk. Oh, by the way, I finished that scrying spell and used it for the summoned. Sarah said most will be going home once the tattoos are done. In fact, quite a few have left already.”

  “Oh, that’s great! Can you show me my world? Please?”

  Lin says “Um…”

  “What? What’s wrong? I am not going back if that is what you are worried about. I just want to see if anything major happened. Actually, to be honest, I kind of hope it got overrun with zombies.”

  Lin says “The problem is that you are really smart and good with magic. I am worried that if I cast the spell in front of you, you will figure it out. That means you could also figure out the summoning spell and that would break my promise.”

  “Oh. Okay, that makes sense. Can you not just cast the spell in the other room?”

  Lin says “No, it won’t work. If there isn’t a summoned nearby to act as a target, the spell looks at a random world.”

  “Hm. What about as an enchantment? Summon a TV and enchant it with the spell and then if I use the TV it would use me as a target? Would that work?”

  Lin says “No! Making it an enchantment would just make it even easier for you to figure it out! At this point you are better with enchantments than I am.”

  “But as an enchantment you can hide it and lock it so that I can’t see or mess with it. Then I can use it and you don’t have to worry about me learning the spell.”

  Lin says “I don’t know how to do that!”

  “Then I will teach you. It is something you should learn if you are going to be creating your own items anyway.”

  Lin says “I guess we can do that, but it can wait until after your visit to Brightfire. Don’t make her wait too long.”

  “Alright, we will do it when I get back. I will leave now, you two have a nice chat.”

  Jarvis enters and says “Maker, Ladies Isabella and Ruby are here to see you.”

  “Alright. You two stay and chat, I will see what Isabella wants before I leave.”

  I give the two of them another kiss each and then head outside to meet Isabella and Ruby. They are standing together when I walk outside and I don’t sense any tension between them. From that I am guessing that Isabella lost and Ruby will be going home with her.

  Isabella says “Ash! Thanks to Lin we now know my world has mana. It isn’t much, but it will be enough for Ruby to survive. So she will be staying with me. We came by to say goodbye.”

  “Alright. Did zombies overrun your world?”

  Isabella says “Strangely, no. As far as I can tell my world already had mana, but even as we were watching the level was rising. So my world is probably heading towards a big change and I want to be there for it.”

  “That’s understandable. I wish you well!”

  Isabella says “Thanks. We both wanted to thank you again for saving us.”

  Ruby says “I also wanted to apologize again for the way I acted after you freed me. I got a little carried away with things and I know I put you in a tough spot. Thank you for not taking advantage of me during that time!”

  “You certainly didn’t make it easy on me, but I also should have tried to see things from your point of view more.”

  Ruby says “You were a little busy at the time! I don’t hold it against you and I hope that you can forgive me.”

  “I don’t really think there is anything to forgive, but if it is important to you, then yes, I forgive you.”

  Ruby says “Thank you.”

  Isabella says “I am glad that is finally settled!! You two have been acting like kids for way too long! Now, we can finally leave without any lingering issues.”

  Ruby immediately gets angry and turns to yell at Isabella, but stops when she sees her big grin. I myself am a little surprised that Isabella dares to tease Ruby, but I am also glad to see it. The two of them chat with me for a little bit longer and then say their goodbyes.

  They both give me a hug and I make sure to wish them luck as they are leaving. I will need to ask Lin if there will be a way for me to view worlds other than mine. Maybe she can have the enchantment use people to get a lock on worlds and then maintain them.

  For that to work, we will need to make the item and the enchantment before they leave. Of course, half of the summoned have already left, but there is nothing I can do about that. I head back to the main room to talk to her, but I find that Lin and Mercy have already left.

  I immediately ask Jarvis, but he tells me that they left by gate and he doesn’t know where they went. Lin seems to be serious about making sure that their girl chat stays private. I write a note for her with my idea for the enchantment and ask her to work on it as soon as possible.

  Then I hand Jarvis six out of the eight items that I made for the kids with some instructions for them. The last two I will deliver myself, but I don’t want to wait around for the kids to get back. Then I leave the castle and head to her inn to look for Sarah to ask her to delay the summoned returning.

  If we can make the enchantment work, I want to get as many targets as possible. Unfortunately, Sarah isn’t at the inn so I am forced to leave a message for her as well. She is probably off somewhere with my kids, so I can’t complain too much about it.

  After leaving a message for Sarah, I head back to my workshop in the castle to craft two more necklaces. One is feminine, while the other is masculine, and once they are done I leave again. This time I return to normal form and take to the sky as I head out of the trade city.
