Chapter 74

"Brother, what are you..." Sean swallowed nervously, watching as Caius walked up to him.

"Relax, we're friends now," Caius said with a grin, but Sean could feel the simmering anger behind that smile.

"Yes, yes! Friends!" Sean nodded quickly in agreement.

"Since we're friends, how about doing me a little favor?" Caius leaned in closer, the smoke from his mouth casting a shadow over his face.

"Just say the word! I'll help!" Sean replied hastily.

"Good." Caius nodded. "Do you know which gang in Ocean City has a snake tattoo?"

"A snake tattoo... The Serpent Gang! Their emblem is a sea serpent!" Sean immediately answered, his eyes lighting up.

Could it be that Caius was planning to go after the Serpent Gang?

  That would be fucking fantastic!

  "Where are they?" Caius asked.

"In the west district of the outer city... I can take you there."

"Alright." Caius nodded and turned to leave.

Sean quickly followed, shouting as he walked, "Brothers, grab your gear! We're following the big bro to pay the Serpent Gang a visit!"

"Oh!" The remaining hundred or so members of the Crab Gang were all fiercely loyal. The moment they heard their leader's command, some of the more aggressive ones even started breaking chairs apart, wielding the legs like makeshift clubs.

There was no choice—Crab Gang was currently broke. Many of their weapons were broken, and they didn't have the money to replace them. The reason why...

Caius claimed he had no idea.

Right now, he only wanted to twist off the heads of the Serpent Gang members!

The entire Crab Gang mobilized, creating quite a commotion.

Over a hundred men marched down the street aggressively. Pedestrians quickly stepped aside, fearful of getting caught in the chaos.

Yet some onlookers noticed that not a single member of the Crab Gang dared to step ahead of the massive figure leading them.

This made many people wonder—was the leader of the Crab Gang always this huge?

Caius didn't care about Sean's motivations.

He knew Sean was just using him to get rid of the Serpent Gang. He was too familiar with this kind of gang rivalry.

But he didn't stop it. In fact, it was convenient—Crab Gang could clean up afterward, saving him the trouble.

Soon, they arrived at the Serpent Gang's headquarters, a large grove in the western district.

The moment Caius saw the snake tattoos on the gang members at the gate, he knew he had found the right place.

Seeing a group of armed men suddenly appear, the Serpent Gang members panicked and rushed inside to report. But Caius had no patience to wait. He kicked the gates open and strode in.

The Crab Gang members followed suit, swaggering inside and smashing everything in sight.

Caius ignored them, heading straight for the largest factory building in the compound.

With a thunderous boom, the factory's iron doors were sent flying.

Caius, cigarette in mouth, peered inside. Over a hundred Serpent Gang members were gathered there, already armed and ready after receiving the warning.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

Without any nonsense, Caius lifted a metal plaque and asked, "Who stepped on this? Step forward."

The Serpent Gang members exchanged glances before tightening their grip on their weapons and closing in.

The Crab Gang members followed closely behind Caius, standing at his back.

Tension filled the air as the two sides faced off.

"Brother, perhaps there's been a misunderstanding?" At that moment, a sturdy man with a goatee stepped forward, eyeing Caius warily.

Caius gave off an extremely dangerous vibe, and the man instinctively wanted to avoid conflict.

He had also heard of a powerful, towering mercenary who had recently arrived in Ocean City. It was likely this man.

But he was confused—wasn't this mercenary the one who had torn off Sean's Iron Claw? Why were they suddenly working together?

Of course, this was Serpent Gang territory. While he was wary, he wasn't afraid.

  Why?

Because the Serpent Gang had over two hundred members, just like the Crab Gang in its prime.

Now the Crab Gang barely had a hundred left. Did this single Gold-ranked mercenary really think he could wipe out the entire Serpent Gang?

"No misunderstanding." Caius placed the plaque on the ground. "You have one cigarette's time to hand over the people who tried to forcibly buy that land this morning."

The goateed man's face darkened instantly.

Handing them over in front of so many of his brothers? That would destroy his credibility.

That was a death sentence in the gang world—lose credibility, and you lose control.

So he took two steps back and sneered, "And if I refuse?"

At that moment, more Serpent Gang members emerged from the factory, surrounding the Crab Gang members completely.

Two hundred against a little over a hundred. No matter how you looked at it, the Crab Gang was doomed.

Sean was already breaking into a cold sweat, praying that Caius would pull off something miraculous.

  And Caius didn't disappoint.

"You refuse?" Caius hefted the metal plaque in his hand, then swung it with terrifying force.

The rusted metal transformed into the scythe of death, slicing through the crowd like cutting wheat. It embedded itself deep into the factory wall, dripping with blood.

The goateed man didn't even have time to react before his body went limp and collapsed.

Including him, seven or eight Serpent Gang members' heads rolled off their shoulders and hit the ground with dull thuds, blood splattering everywhere.

  Everyone froze in shock.

  He... he was instantly killed...

The Gold-ranked, six-star leader of the Serpent Gang... was instantly killed...

The factory fell into complete silence, broken only by Caius' thunderous roar.

"I gave you a chance, you motherfuckers!"

"If the Serpent Gang still exists by tomorrow, I'll cut my own head off and let you use it as a ball!"

As he cursed, his spatial ring flashed, and a massive warhammer appeared in his hands. With a single swing, he sent it spinning through the air, smashing through a crowd like an unstoppable force.

Then, like a tank, he charged into the midst of his enemies. Screams filled the air as countless people were sent flying, some even crashing into the factory ceiling.

Sean, witnessing this, felt his vital energy surge. He raised his machete and roared, "Brothers, get them!"

Seeing their leader instantly take out the enemy boss, the Crab Gang members' morale soared. With a deafening battle cry, they charged forward, weapons raised.

The Serpent Gang members were completely shaken.

By the time they realized what was happening, Caius had already killed over fifty of them. His terrifying slaughter efficiency shattered their spirits.

Their leader was dead—what were they even fighting for? Run!

The battle quickly turned into a one-sided massacre.

Despite outnumbering their enemies, the Serpent Gang was crushed, wailing as they fled.

Caius was like a beast among sheep. The Silver-ranked members were like fragile chicks in front of him—one swing of his hammer flattened a whole group.

The Serpent Gang's numbers dwindled rapidly.

In the end, only sixty managed to escape.

The rest were either dead or crippled.

Seventy of the fallen had been slain by Caius alone.

Over sixty died on the spot, while the rest were left permanently maimed.

Two were even taken down by a certain ferocious little catgirl—Kiki was ruthless!

Such a commotion quickly drew the attention of a large number of enforcers.

Though Ocean City's enforcement system was deeply intertwined with the gangs, an event of this scale couldn't be ignored. Otherwise, the authorities would lose public trust, so they had to intervene.

"Boss, enforcers are coming." Sean looked at Caius, who was calmly sitting on a factory machine, lighting a cigarette. Somewhere along the line, "brother" had become "boss."

  He was clearly thrilled.

Caius glanced at him and exhaled a puff of smoke.

All around them, the ground was littered with his "work." To Sean, he looked downright majestic.

In that moment, Sean was completely convinced—his resentment toward Caius vanished, replaced by admiration.

All he could think about was—follow the boss, grow stronger, and rebuild the gang!

"Can you handle it?" Caius asked.

"Of course!" Sean looked at the Serpent Gang's territory and nodded.

With the Serpent Gang wiped out, the Crab Gang would inevitably grow stronger. He no longer had to worry about being abandoned by the boss.

And with the boss around, enforcers wouldn't be a problem. They'd just find some scapegoats, throw them in jail for a while, and that would be the end of it.

Ocean City was just that corrupt.

Caius nodded, put away the [Angel] Warhammer, and walked out. His deep voice echoed slowly.

"Spread the word—any gang in the Outer City that dares to force low-price land grabs will end up like the Serpent Gang."

  "Got it!"
