Chapter 76

Tuobella scrambled backwards as I advanced, my tails lashing at any bruiser or windclaw that got near me. I stopped when I was around three feet away from her. She was so close. I could simply reach forward and kill her. So why the fuck am I not moving?

I strained to take a single step, my muscles clenching as I shakily lifted my arm. Tuobella smiled and said. “Finding it hard to move huh? Of course you are! You thought I was a simple high queen? That I had risen this far on nothing but my intellect? I’m flattered, truly. But you’re an idiot.”

I was suddenly sent flying backwards as she advanced. “You thought that none of us had evolved? That we just sat in our council, eating goblins and growing fat. You are fucking stupid. Some of us did just that, others didn’t.”

I stood up and was instantly thrown into the sky. After beginning to fall I accelerated far more than normal and landed with the force of an elephant being launched from a catapult. I felt multiple bone snap and blood leaked out of my mouth as I struggled to my feet.

She smiled and said. “You know, your kids didn’t instantly die. In fact one of them survived all the way back to me. I believe it was this one.” She pointed to Tim and said. “What a fighter, he screamed for his mother when he died. I suffocated him, slowly. I stopped sometimes just to start again. It was glorious.”

Tears ran down my face as my mind raced with images of Tim being tortured by this sick creature. She smirked and said. “You know what my magic is called? It’s called gravity. Have you heard of it? No? That’s too bad, it’s quite useful.”

She walked up to me and I was crushed to the ground, unable to move as she continued to talk. “I hope you know, all of this is your fault. Why couldn’t you have stayed loyal? You were a good general, for that brief time. Your children would have been treated well. But no, you came in with a plan to betray us all along.”

I groaned and said. “You’re the one that didn’t send our troops food when they needed it! You betrayed me first!” She shrugged and said. “I didn’t have enough time, you should have waited before mobilizing such a large army. You should have stayed loyal!” I was once again rocketed into the air and came crashing down just as fast.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

She waddled over to a nearby bruiser and said. “I want a thousand windclaws gathered here now! We’ll track the rest of the traitors and slaughter them!” I frowned and looked around, for anything that I could use.

I saw a rock, around the size of a human fist. I picked it up and waited for her to stop paying attention to me. Tears still streamed down my face as I hurled the rock at her as hard as I could.

It slammed into her forehead and I smiled as she let out a screech of pain. I felt the force that was pushing me into the ground lessen. I smiled even wider and launched myself forward, my tails darting forward to slam into her. I landed within punching distance so I did just that.

I can’t describe the sheer satisfaction I felt when my fist slammed into her face. My tails jetted forward, aimed at her chest. I slashed at her face with my claws, ripping one of her eyes out and causing blood to pour out of her face.

She screeched again as my tails hurtled towards her. They were unfortunately interrupted by a bruiser throwing his body in front of her. I let out a roar of anger as dozens of bruisers crashed into me. I saw a few grab her and run as hundreds charged at me.

My tails went to work stabbing and slashing as I punched, bit and slashed anything that came near me. I had multiple broken ribs, I think. My body is covered in bruises and cuts. I’ve lost so much blood it’s hard to keep my eyes open.

I grab a bruiser by the head and use its body to bash a nearby windclaw into the ground. Dozens of bodies surrounded me and the hundreds of skinks had begun to circle me. One would dart in every once and a while but they were swiftly skewered by my tails and hurled back into the mob.

I was out of breath and barely able to keep my head up. My head hurts for some reason, did I hit it when Tuobella was using that fucking gravity on me? God it’s hard to think. Focus! I slapped myself and shook my head.

The bruisers around me seemed a bit confused but I ignored them. I have to focus on my objective, vengeance can be dealt with later. I have too many people depending on me. I need to get the broodmothers. Alright, let's do this!

I stood up to my full height and yelled. “I’m Aya! I’m the emperor of the mud flats! I’m going to kill you shit heads if you don’t tell me where the broodmothers are! Got it?” The only response I got was jeers and a few slurs.

I smiled and said. “Good, I need to blow off some steam.” It was not in fact good, but I can’t show weakness. Why are they so willing to die for Tuobella? Are skinks just extremely loyal. Then why did they betray me? Because they were afraid. Hmm, so I just need to make these skinks afraid? Perfect! I’m fucking scary!

I smiled at them and stared at a bruiser in front of me. He stared back as I waved and said. “I’m gonna kill you first!” He looked a bit confused but I just continued smiling. I lunged forward, my tails slamming into the ground and then throwing me into the air as I yelled. “Die peasants! Die!
