He kept focusing, trying to feel the mana, but it eluded him.
‘Am I doing it wrong?’ Nova wondered, frustration gnawing at the edges of his concentration. He took a deep breath, releasing all tension from his body as he slowly inhaled and exhaled, attempting to clear his mind, his focus narrowing until he was barely breathing.
Minutes turned into an hour, and still, the feeling remained absent. Finally, Nova opened his eyes and let out a quiet sigh.
"I can't feel anything" he muttered, the weight of his failure heavy in the still air.
Rising to his feet, he took another steady breath, closing his eyes as he reviewed everything he'd learned so far.
‘When I deciphered that array formation I felt the energy flow’. His mind replayed that moment vividly. ‘That must’ve been mana. So why can't I sense it again?’
Nova retraced his actions, analyzing what he had done differently that time, trying to pinpoint the elusive piece he was missing.
A thought sparked in Nova’s mind, and his focus sharpened. ‘The difference must lie in me using the spear, becoming one with it. And now, I’m not in that state.’
‘Mana is everywhere in the world’ he thought, the realization dawning. ‘If that’s true, then I must—'
He opened his eyes, finishing the thought aloud. "Become one with the world."
Yes, if he could become one with the world, then by extension, he would be able to feel the mana that flowed through it. His mind sifted through past experiences, and a new question arose. ‘Doesn’t that mean if I hadn't found the booklet for Spear Basics, I would never have been able to train in Mana Basics? Was it luck?’
For a moment, he lingered on that thought, but quickly pushed it aside. There was no time for such distractions.
He reached into his Inventory, retrieving his spear with calm precision.
‘Now, the hard part.’
Taking a steadying breath, Nova readied himself. Without hesitation, he began his training, performing slow, deliberate sweeps with his spear. Each motion felt like it bridged a gap between his body and the world around him.

The longer Nova immersed himself in his training, the clearer the wind’s whispers became, flowing around him like a melody only he could hear.
‘One with the world. One with nature’. The thought echoed in his mind as his movements grew fluid, his connection to the spear deepening. Then, without warning, he stopped.
Lifting his gaze to the sky, Nova saw it stretching endlessly above him—vast, infinite, eternal. Yet, in that moment, he felt no sense of smallness, no desperation, no isolation. Instead, he felt a profound sense of unity, as though he belonged to everything and everything belonged to him.
His breathing, which had just returned to normal, slowed once more. It was as if he could feel what every blade of grass around him felt, not through his mind, but through something deeper—something intimate.
In that instant, Nova understood. When he had become One with the Spear, he had indeed united himself with it, but in doing so, he had unknowingly severed his connection to the world around him. Now, he had found a way to reconnect, not just with his spear, but with the world itself.
‘Does that mean the One with the Spear stage is wrong?’ Nova pondered, the question swirling in his mind. After a moment, he shook his head dispelling the thought. ‘No, it’s not wrong. Before I could become One with the Spear, how could I have ever dreamed of becoming One with the World? I wouldn't even have known where to begin.’
‘It’s a necessary process.’ Nova reflected. ‘First, I must separate the spear from the world and unite it with myself. Only then can I return it to the world, using it as my key to unlock a tiny door, a doorway for me to pass through—so the world will accept me.’
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
He muttered softly to himself, a realization blooming within him: “Because the spear was never separate from the world. The spear was always part of the world’s essence. It was merely given form.”
Gripping his spear again, Nova felt an unexpected shift. It felt heavier yet lighter at the same time, as though countless forces were now helping him carry its weight. He performed a thrust, and the wind itself seemed to respond, aiding the movement. It was effortless—nature, the world itself, had made this thrust inevitable, as though the universe had decreed that nothing would be able to escape it.
With a single step, Nova became the center of the universe. His presence aligned with the rhythm of the world, an ancient and eternal harmony. In that moment, the spear was not merely an object in his hand—it was the world itself. There was no resistance, no division. It was a strike of balance, one that had existed since the dawn of time, timeless and flawless.
As Nova completed the thrust, a thought blossomed in his mind: ‘The spear wasn’t meant to conquer the world alone. It was meant to flow with it.’
The thrust finished, and the area within a 10-meter radius around him was filled with the remnants of cut grass, every blade severed with precision. Not a single one remained untouched.
Nova fell back into his usual stance, closing his eyes. Despite the intensity of the movement, he didn’t feel the rush of accomplishment he had anticipated. Instead, a profound sense of peace washed over him.
He understood now. The spear was merely one of many bridges connecting him to the Universe, an instrument to unify him with the world, not to dominate it.
Just as the realization settled within him, a notification echoed in his mind, breaking the silence.
[Skill One with the Spear -> One with the World (Spear)]
Standing still, Nova didn’t immediately examine the new skill. Instead, he allowed himself to fully immerse in the peace and clarity he had just experienced, savoring the moment.
He remained motionless for the next 20 minutes, as though time itself had slowed. When he finally opened his eyes, they seemed different—there was a faint spark in them, a glimpse of something that transcended the mortal realm, a vision of what lay beyond the imagination of ordinary beings.
‘Let’s check the skill’ Nova thought, bringing his focus back to the task at hand.

A wild thought formed in his mind, and for some reason, it lingered there, refusing to leave. ‘What if I jump with all my strength?’
Unable to shake the idea, Nova prepared himself. He gripped his spear tightly, gathering all the power in his legs. With a sudden burst of force, he leapt into the air.
The ground below him cracked under the intensity of his jump, but he didn’t focus on it. His speed surged to an unimaginable level. Sonic booms echoed in his wake, the air itself trembling as he tore through it.
Before he knew it, Nova had reached a place he never thought possible.
Space.
Looking down, he saw Earth—the Blue Planet—beneath him, a sphere of life suspended in the vast, dark expanse of the cosmos.
Chills ran down his spine, not from fear, but from pure exhilaration. He felt unfettered, beyond everything, and the excitement surged through him like an unstoppable wave.
He had taken a monumental step closer to his goal, to his freedom.
Lost in the breathtaking view, Nova wondered ‘What will the other planets, stars, and galaxies look like up close?’
As he fell back toward Earth, the heat from the friction with the atmosphere barely registered as a warm bath to him. Flickers of flames danced across his body, but Nova didn’t even notice. His gaze remained fixed downward, still captivated by the best view he had ever witnessed in his life.
‘If I tell Jack about this, he’d either sulk or beat me up’ Nova thought, laughing to himself. The closer he got to his goal, the closer he neared the ground. And with each passing moment, his laughter grew wilder, echoing through the air.
And when he finally landed, it was with the force of a thunderous impact, his legs absorbing the shock. But the ground didn’t escape unscathed. Half of his courtyard had been reduced to rubble from the sheer strength of his jump and landing.
Nova didn’t even notice the destruction, nor would he have cared. At that moment, his laughter rang out unabashed, and he felt like he was soaring beyond the limits of Cloud Nine. He wasn’t just on it—he had surpassed it entirely.
