Chapter 56+ Stats, Skills, Spells & Stuff

  Dear Diary,

We’re going for the big one in a bit, so I’m distracting myself. Pretty on edge, feels like the river battle all over again. Things also change too damn quickly. I never handed off the updated stuff to Mel, because I forgot. So now I’m redoing this because there’s little else that comes to mind, besides killing. Writing of…

My level is 151, mostly thanks to the fortress assault. In retrospect, we should’ve kept the thing around. Although it wasn’t really our choice to blow it up even if we were going to. The snakedrop variant barely gave anything in comparison. Still, four levels were four levels. My mining trips boosted PP with another three points to boot. Elias’ mandated enchanting doubled my amount of available processes, thanks to a gain of 21 points to MS. I don’t know why he nagged about my processes with the new potion policy in place. I also have official confirmation that any class who mainlines ME is fundamentally broken. It goes up way faster than anything else. Mine gained 96 points, primarily from shooting stuff and self-launching. Combined with the gains from leveling, it’s already surpassed my physical speed and is catching up to my magical power.

I call bullshit, people shouldn’t get stronger against my primary means of attack just from existing and doing stuff. Then again, pretty sure Redhead primarily attacks with magic, so perhaps I shouldn’t complain too much. I mean, it’s also making me stronger, so whatever I guess. The real unfairness comes from the reflection fight – it didn’t give anything! What a letdown. I knew we should’ve grabbed all the goodies, but nooo, they’re obviously trapped or cursed or some shit. Someday, I’ll get my way and trick someone into finding out. Shit. Man, that was illegible. Whatever, it wasn’t important.

  PP: 41 (10+31) – Linked to Mining

  PS: 341 (312+29) – Linked to Leatherworking

PE: 188 (161+27) – Linked to Metalworking (Smithing)

  MP: 510 (463+47) – Linked to Runescribing

  MS: 42 (10+32) – Linked to Enchanting

  ME: 429 (161+268) – Currently a full tank

My gear remains mostly the same as last time, haven’t really gotten around to doing anything with it.

  Legs + Chestpiece + Quiver + 2x boots = Quality 10 (leatherworked)

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

  Shieldsword = Quality 10x2 (lvl 10 runescribed + lvl 10 smithed)

New Practice Plate = 20h of work on it so far.

  1x Dragonsteel Sword

  2x Q10 Magisteel Sword (smithed)

  2x ~Q100? Magisteel Swords (looted)

  42x Magic Swords (summoned)

  735 Crystal Cash

(Refilled to 20 K crystal to fuel combat plus 8k for overcharges, at least we’re well funded, thanks Mel!)

Three full sets of statboosting potions, since we plan to down these before the big fighties start, rather than in the middle of.

My usual stuff: Rune pen, pipe, smokables, rune pouch, flask, self-care kit and a carving knife.

At least I don’t need to rewrite the other side of the wrapper, which I’ll just tack on.

  My upgraded ability is:

[Summon Sword]: Summon a powerful magical sword under your control for you to wield. Range: Touch. Cost: 50 energy.

  My upgraded skills are:

[Sheath]: Place or withdraw a sword under your control into or from an extra dimensional storage space. You can store up to thirty swords simultaneously. Range: Touch. Cost: None.

[Control]: Manipulate up to three swords you control with your thoughts. Exertable power is equal to yours. Range: 3 meters. Cost: None.

[Launch]: Launch a sword you control in the direction that the point is facing, four times as hard as you can throw it. Range: 3 meters. Cost: 5 energy.

I have the following cantrips, getting pretty sick of writing stuff down:

[Light]: Create a visible light-source extending allied havens. Duration: 1 hour. Cost: 1 energy.”

  [Mending]: Cost: 10 energy.

[Create Food and Drink]: Cost: 10 energy.

Man, this really sucks all the fun out of it. I can’t be arsed to write down the long-ass description (should’ve been careful about what I wish for, eh?) of my low-magic, so I’ll just describe it instead.

[Aim-assist]: It’s a free passive toggle effect like all low-magic and allows me to preview trajectories by thinking about them, giving me ridiculous accuracy at any range. It also automatically flags friendly and enemy targets for me and disallows arcs that hit allies, although I can turn that off by considering my buddies as enemies, which isn’t particularly challenging. What the System didn’t tell me is that it also gives a laser-eye effect when turned on, but only on my right eye. I could’ve used a warning there since Jen thought I was poking fun at her heterochromia.

Christ, writing up two full sides of a wrapper takes some effort. Are you happy now Mel? You’ve ruined diary entries for me. Your crusade against all things fun is succeeding. Congratulations, Ascendant.

  Bye dear Diary
