Chapter 23
Li Yiheng walked out of the hotel entrance, and the driver had already parked the car at the door. He took over the key, went around the front of the car to sit in the driver's seat, while on the other side, Li Jin opened the car door and sat down in the passenger seat.
"Where to?" Li Yiheng started the car, a Bentley sedan with excellent performance and rapid acceleration. In an instant, they sped past the hotel's entrance and onto the main road.
Li Jin unbuttoned his suit, which had a 10% waterproof material and was made of dense fabric, and took off the wet clothes, throwing them onto the back seat.
"See you later, Jory." He replied with a faint smile.
He Jiaoli Hotel is a well-known foreign-related hotel in this city, and it was also the place where Li Zhong woke up after his rebirth. With his understanding of Li Yiheng, he must have had a long-term suite there.
As expected, as soon as he spoke, Mr. Li had no objection, and the car turned at the next intersection and headed straight for the overpass.
It was just the evening rush hour, the sky was slightly dark, and the cars on the elevated road were like a long dragon, winding and endless. Mr. Li still had to wait patiently in the middle when he encountered a traffic jam.
There were transparent perfume bottles in the car, and the fragrance of bamboo was wafting gently. Li Jin adjusted the angle of her seat and leaned against the window in a more comfortable position. From the speakers below her shoulders came a soft, husky female voice.
IfIain'tgotyou……”
A rhythmic knocking sound came from beside her, and Li Jin slightly opened her eyes. Li Yi Heng's left hand was propping up his chin, while his right index finger was bent, lightly tapping the steering wheel in sync with the music's rhythm.
Li Yiheng grew up in a wealthy and noble village, with servants to take care of his daily needs, so his hands were far removed from the hustle and bustle of mundane chores. His hands were slender and pale, with long fingers and distinct joints, just like his personality, which had a gentle quality to it.
Li Jing stared at his fingers, gradually entering a state of trance.
Li Yiheng saw such an undisguised gaze in the rearview mirror.
That gaze was both infatuated and bewildered, different from any of the gazes Li Jin had given him in the past. Li Yi Heng quietly gazed at Li Jin's reflection in the rearview mirror; he had never looked at him so carefully before, but now, as the sky grew dark and the twilight fell, he found himself thinking that Li Jin looked really good.
Then the good-looking person sensed his gaze and raised his head in surprise.
Li Yiheng turned his head and smiled at him.
Li Jing's heart was filled with anxiety, he knew he should respond with a smile, but somehow, he just couldn't bring himself to do so. So he could only force a smile on his lips while his eyes were filled with unease, making his expression awkward and unnatural, which made Li Yi Heng burst out laughing.
Like this, one looks interesting, one laughs nervously, you gaze at me, I look at you...
"Drip!"
Suddenly, a car horn sounded from behind, ruthlessly breaking the romantic atmosphere, startling both of them to tremble in unison and turn around together.
The car in front had been moving for half a day, leaving a long distance on the road, and was being taken advantage of by the driver next to him, who was anxious to see the cars behind him hurry up.
Li Yiheng shrugged like a mischievous boy who had been caught, and immediately started the car. Fortunately, he was an excellent driver and quickly overtook the other car, making up for his mistake.
Li Jin was thoroughly amused by his appearance, and until he sent Qiao Li to the door, the smile on his face had not dissipated.
Li Yiheng drove the car directly to the entrance of the hotel, and the lobby manager noticed from a distance that it was Mr. Li's vehicle, so he quickly put away his walkie-talkie and ran over to fawn on him.
Li Yiheng was polite to everyone, the lobby manager tried to sell him a clever idea, he gladly accepted and smiled: "Trouble you, I'm in a hurry, forgot to bring my room card."
The lobby manager hurriedly ran to handle the temporary room card, quietly urging the front desk lady in a manner that seemed like a miniature Godzilla. But in the blink of an eye, the room card was ready, and the lobby manager smiled obsequiously: "Mr. Li, I'll take you up."
From start to finish, except for a courteous smile and nod when they first met, he treated Li Jin as if she was transparent throughout.
Li Yiheng didn't care about his attitude, and just followed closely behind him. The hotel had six elevators, the fastest one stopped on the eighth floor, and it would take a while to come down. The lobby manager took the opportunity to get close to Li Yiheng, asking if he was doing well lately, and introducing him to the new French chef at the restaurant, who made excellent snail dishes. Li Yiheng listened with a smile on his face, glancing unintentionally at Lei Jin beside him, who had his hands in his pockets, pursing his lips as if very bored, his eyes scanning the oil paintings on the wall before finally stopping on himself, just as their eyes met.
Li Yi Heng's smile deepened by three points.
The elevator was coming down, and the lobby manager had just finished bragging about his own chef, and was walking into the elevator while turning to boast about the new pianist in the coffee shop. Unexpectedly, before he even stepped onto the elevator floor, someone suddenly bowed their head, pulled out a thin room card from his hand, and pressed the close door button.
"Thank you for your explanation." The elevator doors slowly closed, and Li Jin pinched the room card, smiling triumphantly at the stunned lobby manager, "However, it's my turn next."
The elevator went up without stopping, and in just a few breaths, they arrived at the floor. Li Jin took a step forward first, the room number was written on the card, he followed it to find the way, slightly tilting his head, this time Li Yi Heng also followed closely behind him.
The carpet in the corridor was soft and the light was dim, every step of Li Jin's seemed to be on a high cloud, with an unreal sense of danger. His footsteps slowed down, all the way to the door of the room, unable to move any further. On the stainless steel metal doorknob, there was a small red light. The card key approached, and it could automatically sense it. He pinched the icy and fragile card key, lifted his hand and approached it.
It's strange, didn't succeed in brushing it up.
He bit his lip, changed the angle, and put the card in again. This time he saw with his own eyes that the card blocked the faint red light, but the door still didn't move.
He bit his lips hard, biting them sore, and tried again. The card was in his hand, right side up, upside down, slanted, and even turned vertically, stretching into the red light at various angles, but unfortunately, the door was stuck like a nail and wouldn't budge.
He hastily and awkwardly lifted his head, wanting to apologize to Mr. Li for keeping him waiting, but before he could even raise his neck, the person suddenly leaned in close, a perfect face inches from his own, hot breath making his earlobes burn.
"Are you scared?" Warm and dry palms wrapped tightly around his fingers, Li Yiheng's voice was husky and ambiguous, "Why are your hands shaking like this?"
Li Jin's throat tightened and he subconsciously looked at his right hand.
Those slender fingers were shaking uncontrollably in his palm.
Li Yiheng leaned forward, his broad chest tightly pressed against Li Jin's back, as if he had firmly embraced him. He stretched out his arm, the card was steadily pulled, accurately aligned with the center of the sensing light.
Tick-tock——
The door is open.
Li Yiheng loosened his grip, straightened up and gave a gentle push.
A silent room with an invisible five fingers, opened in front of Li Jin.
Li Jing walked slowly into the darkness, her eyes fixed on it.
