Chapter Fifty

  Chapter Fifty

"Xiao Jin, what's wrong?" Hong Fei asked as he sat down beside Li Jin, "Don't you feel well?"

In the rest room, everyone had filled their stomachs and was chatting happily, discussing the latest gossip and games. Luo Fei's next performance was a duet with Qi Yichen, originally facing each other in rhythm, but his eyes shifted to scan the corner where Li Jin sat alone.

I've always felt that from the very beginning, Xiao Jin wasn't quite right.

Not speaking, not eating anything, not even drinking a sip of water, pale face, sitting aside as if sick.

  Luo Fei's eyebrows furrowed.

He took out a disposable paper cup, poured a full cup of juice and handed it in front of Li Jin: "Why isn't anyone speaking?"

Li Jing was thinking about the words he had just heard, his throat burning terribly. Seeing Luo Fei hand him a glass of juice, he drank it down obediently, feeling the coolness soothe his throat and alleviate some of the intense emotions that had been building up inside him.

"Nothing." He shook his head, "A bit tired."

Luo Fei now lives in the New Star Academy, but he knows that Li Jin has already moved to a new place, moving his home to a small apartment inside the Second Ring Road, making it convenient for him to commute to and from work. However, even so, when he gets busy with work, he often doesn't have time to go back home, and the sofa in the office becomes his bed for the night, and the next day he gets up as usual to fight against the tedious work.

Looking at Li Jin's slightly darkened eyes, Luo Fei suddenly felt a pang of heartache: "If you're tired, take a few days off and rest."

Li Jindan responded faintly, clearly not paying attention.

Luo Fei was helpless and just wanted to persuade again when a sudden noise came from the doorway.

"What's wrong?" Xiao Susu was sitting by the door, and the curious girl walked to the entrance, quietly opening the door a crack. Then, as if discovering a new continent, she excitedly called out, "Shu Mu!"

Li Jin's shoulders stiffened in an instant.

The girls mostly like Shu Mu, knowing he's just outside the door, they rush out to ask Shu Mu for autographs. Shu Mu doesn't put on any airs, smiling and accommodating everyone, wherever those beautiful peach blossom eyes glance, that place becomes electrified.

"Xiao Pu," said Li Jin coldly as he stood up, "call the person back. This is such a mess, what does it look like?"

"Alright, Brother Li!" Xiao Pu felt that he had performed poorly as an agent today and was eager to make a comeback, so he responded very loudly.

Who would have thought that this loud noise would attract even more attention.

Shu Mu stopped signing and asked a girl who was surrounding him: "Are you a student of Xing Shengdai?"

The girl almost fainted in his dazzling smile, nodding repeatedly: "Yes, I am."

"Is that your resting room?" Shu Mu handed the signature book to the newly appointed agent beside him, asking as he walked towards the source of the sound. The next moment, he saw Li Jin standing in the center of the room.

In the instant their eyes met, Li Jin clearly saw a sinister glint flash across his gaze.

"It smells so good." Shu Mu took a deep breath, "The signature braised pork rice from He He Restaurant, right?"

The students had just finished eating, and the air was still filled with the savory smell of the old fast food restaurant. Shu Mu's eyes were clear and bright, and he smiled as he asked the female student who had just eaten: "Did you guys just eat at Heheji?"

The female student couldn't believe it, Wan Renmiu actually had a day when he had such an intoxicating voice and tone, speaking softly to herself: "Yes, Li Jingji went to buy it, Heheji." After finishing, she was afraid that her answer would not satisfy Shu Mu, so she added, "The braised pork rice was eaten by Rong Fei, he likes to eat that."

"Really? I like to eat too." Shu Mu smiled brightly and charmingly, covering her stomach and whispering a complaint to her agent, "I'm getting hungry from smelling this aroma. Is there a Heheji nearby? Can we grab something to eat before going on stage?"

Then he leaned against the door pitifully, as if he was really weak all over.

The agent and the organizer waited for him here for half an hour, and this big star finally arrived late. At this moment, even if Shu Mu said he wanted to hold the stars in his hand, the agent would do it desperately. So, without any hesitation, the agent waved his hand to call the assistant: "Go buy a bowl of braised pork rice."

"Wait a minute," Shu Mu suddenly spoke up and stopped him, "do you know where there is a Heheji around here?"

  The assistant shook his head.

"So you're going out to buy something without telling me, and then I'll be left waiting for you like a fool, and if I don't get anything, I'll go on stage hungry?" Shu Mu sneered.

The assistant lowered his head with a murmur.

Shu Mu gave his assistant a cold glance before finally settling his gaze on the agent.

The broker was usually arrogant and domineering, but facing Shu Mu's gaze, he involuntarily shivered.

He had been in the industry for three years and had also promoted several newcomers. When the two young masters of the He family asked him to take on the role of Su Mu's agent, he thought that he had finally found a stage to showcase his talents. However, on his first day on the job, he discovered that this legendary model artist was not as easy to manage as outsiders had imagined.

What Shu Mu wants is not an agent who can help him plan his career, he has the ability to plan his own performing arts life, what he lacks is a follower.

A person who acts on behalf of another when it is inconvenient for that person to appear in public and takes the blame.

Then just follow the class, when the broker receives the first monthly salary, looking at the numbers in the bank card, thinking that for others who can't earn high salaries for ten years, he will play a diligent and responsible follower.

The agent immediately grasped the implied meaning in Shu Mu's words and shouted, "Who just went to buy fast food? Trouble buying another serving!"

The people who were originally noisy and crowded around Shu Mu suddenly fell silent.

  No one responded.

"Just now, who was it that bought it? It's a bother, but could you go buy another one? I'll pay for it." The agent, seeing no one respond, turned his head to ask the female student who had just spoken up, "You just said someone bought it. Does that person know where the store is?"

The female student shook her head, but seemed to be guilty, and her eyes unconsciously looked towards Li Jin.

The more you try to hide it, the more obvious it becomes.

Shu Mu quietly turned his head, with a hint of provocation and disdain, and winked at Li Jin.

  He did it on purpose.

Li Jin gritted her teeth as she stared at him, almost dislocating her jaw.

In his past life, he had been to this street with him many times for activities. Although the organizer sometimes provided meals, most of them were hard to swallow. At that time, he would go to Heheji to buy braised pork rice for him as a supplement. So Shu Mu was very clear about how hidden Heheji was on this street and how long it took to go back and forth once.

Outside, the north wind howled and the temperature dropped, he deliberately wanted to torment himself.

"Is it you?" The broker followed Shu Mu's line of sight and pointed at Li Jin, "Trouble you..."

"No way!" Kuai Fei suddenly blocked Li Jin in front of him, "We don't belong to the same company, and we've never met before. Why should Xiao Jin listen to your orders? Besides, Shu Mu is today's protagonist, he has been waiting for a long time, and it's always us who have been helping the organizers hold up the scene. You guys came, not even saying thank you, but instead ordering people around, isn't that too rude?"

The broker seemed to be taken aback, having never met anyone who dared to openly defy him, and was momentarily stunned. At this moment, the staff of the organizing committee also squeezed in, with a smile on their face to mediate: "Sorry, sorry, it's our fault for not thinking ahead. The distinguished guests have been waiting for a long time, so please let Mr. Shu go to the dressing room to get ready for the ribbon-cutting ceremony later. We'll take care of the food and drinks."

The fawning attitude was a far cry from the haughty demeanor he showed in front of Luo Fei and others.

"I only eat at Heheji." Shu Mu was completely ungrateful and coldly interrupted the other person, "And I won't go on stage with an empty stomach."

After he finished speaking, he gave Li Jin a meaningful glance and turned to walk towards his private dressing room.

"Are you going? Do you know where that store is? Don't you also need to find it? By the time you find it, Ashu will be starving to death, what's the point of eating then!" As soon as Shu Mu left, the broker became even more arrogant and lawless, almost jumping up and down, "There's someone right in front of us who knows, don't waste any more time, let him go!"

He pointed at Li Jin and gave orders.

"Impossible!" Rong Fei firmly shielded Li Jin behind him, "Why should we listen to you for no reason?"

"What's so funny?" The broker seemed to have heard a hilarious joke, stomping his feet and laughing out loud, "Everyone came here to see Shu Mu, not you little fish!"

  "That's enough."

Li Jing gently pushed away Ruo Fei's arm.

  "Stop messing around, I'm going."
