Book 5 Chapter Thirty-Five; Darkened Days and Deadened Ways

They stepped through the gate, cheerful and happy with the links they had made. Katie had even managed to form a friendship with Senju, which surprised Jazmel as they seemed so different.

They stepped through the gate and immediately Jazmel’s gut told him something was wrong. Terrible wrong, he drew his sword and it sung. Happy to be unsheathed and dread filled him because he quickly realised where he was.

  DING!

YOU HAVE REACHED DEATH; YOU HAVE ENTERED IT’S EMBRACE BEFORE DYING!

  CONGRATULATIONS!!

  …

  +5 END

He looked around and saw that his friends had clearly received the same notice.

“We should not be here.” Baek said and Jazmel could see for the first time just how serious Baek’s face had become. He himself had become a master tier recently but he still didn’t feel like he was strong enough to face Baek yet. Something about the old man just made Jazmel know he couldn’t handle any of his strength.

  SCREECH!

A creature shrieked and everything about the screech told Jazmel it was because they had been found out.

“We need to flee.” Baek said, drawing his sword, he flared his Mana. much further and denser than Jazmel had ever witnessed, Baek was far stronger than Jazmel had previously realised.

The gate they had used had been had literally been the face of a cliff and now that it had disappeared. They had nowhere to go, before them heavy footfalls approached and everyone got ready, but the stench of fear was so great that Jazmel couldn’t believe it.

From the dark, the abject dark, a creature lumbered forward. It was easily the biggest creature Jazmel had seen. It was larger than the greater ifrit they had fought. But also much stronger, he was completely oppressed by its aura pressure. There was literally nothing he could do about it.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

It was faceless, a literally head with no features beyond a gaping maw with too many teeth, and also too wide. It was a gargantuan size and yet it crawled on its hands and feet as if a wretch. In the darkness, Jazmel could see that its skin was pale as frost and the sickening Mana erupting from its core and towards them. was causing the fear.

  DING!

BASTION OF THE TYRANT IS TRYING TO CREATE MOMENTUM!

  …

  …

BASTION OF THE TYRANT HAS FAILED!

  …

GROW STRONGER TO STRENGTHEN THE BASTION!

  …

Thanks, thanks for sharing that with me. He thought and Jazmel honestly almost cursed the system.

  Shadowing Wraith!

  ERROR!

What?! He exclaimed in his head.

  DING!

Jazmel could do nothing as the creature lumbered towards him and his friends. He simply could only watch as it moved forward to pick between his friends.

  Stellar strike!

From the darkness a myriad of colour burst from the dark. A rainbow slash that had been seven strikes that struck as one. Beheaded the cardinal from behind and it fell before Jazmel, the ichor spewing from his neck.

“What are you doing here?” a woman said. She hopped up onto the body of the cardinal and sheathing her sword; a long sword so grandeur that Jazmel suddenly felt like his own were terrible imitations. She was staring down at them with disdain and irritation.

She was a white woman, her cheeks were rosy, and her eyes were golden, the irises glinted in the dark. She had earrings in that were like small shards of diamonds, but they were holding massive sources of Mana. she peeked at Jazmel and considered him for a moment.

“You are a new master tier right? Death shouldn’t have allowed you in so quickly. Others in your party are not even master tier, the structure of the labyrinth is falling apart.” She uttered, growing more irritated by the second. She noticed Baek and considered him for a moment.

“You might have survived alone, but I cannot in good faith say you will all make it on your own in here. I do not believe you can find a gate on your own.” she uttered.

“I am sending you out, do not return to death until you can handle a tier V on your own or you are all master tier.” She scolded them.

She drew her sword and slashed the air behind them. a doorway opened and a vacuum followed, sucking them into it. she stayed to watch them disappear and just as Jazmel was about to disappear into it, she turned away.
