Chapter 27

Adele looked at Mut and then changed her plan slightly.

She moved around her eyes and changed the spells contained in them. Regardless, all these spells of rituals are more theoretical and have a lower learning rate than true spells since they can’t exist outside of rituals, she had a good memory and could remember a lot.

It took her several hours and it wasn’t until night that she finished. If it was on normal days, her parents would interrupt her, but her mother and grandfather were also prophets, so naturally they knew just by coming close to her room that fate was converging.

On the count of prophecies, Adele actually paid a lot in the past times she performed, especially the summoning of Mut costed her a hundred years of soul age. The reason for this is that as one’s age becomes older, the cost of anything soul age related becomes lower and lower.

Every thousand years it would shrink by ten percent, and after ten thousand years, the cost would be reduced to one percent, this is the minimum cost and can’t be reduced no matter any other try.

Because of this, the cost she had to pay was very low even though she summoned something like Mut, which should be beyond her capacity. The same is true for the prince, such a high level of prophecy should be near impossible on her stage if she didn’t somehow receive the guidance of fate, but that would mean the prince is a child of fate.

She knew in fact that this wasn’t possible, the world wasn’t at the point where it had to produce a child of fate to save itself, only rarely does the river of destiny produce any.

Others didn’t know it as well as she did, but they thought similarly, just pushing the blame to Adele’s high concentration of her Holle bloodline.

Till now, she was still beyond ten thousand years of soul age, but her next move would cost her a lot. From calculations, she was very sure that it would cost her a thousand years, but it was a special type of prophecy.

Once she finished, she summoned Mut, who was floating around her room. Although it wasn’t blocked of anything in the whole time in hell, any place would be bland if you spend thousands of years there, and it could barely move up one level after so long.

“Mut, with the name I gave you and your background, I assume you can spin fate?”

“That is indeed so, but I can’t spy into the river of destiny, you have a stronger ability in this regard.”

“No, since you don’t wish to follow fate, knowing it will only restrict you, like the silk spun by the Norns. As long as you can spin fate, doesn’t that mean that any fate spun by you is an irregularity outside the control of fate? Although you can’t defy fate and most likely won’t ever be able to, you can open up more possibilities and enhance the chances of these possibilities.

There is a ritual in my inheritance that is called ‘Self-Fulfilling Prophecy’. As long as I perform this prophecy and give an amount of sacrifice of my own with a certain maximum, I will be able to create a prophecy and a restriction upon fate. As long as I fulfil a major part of the prophecy itself, fate will be forced into this direction. Normally I wouldn’t be able to perform this without a material that can function as the foundation of the restriction, but if you spin fate slightly and materialise the fate, I will be able to perform the ritual.”

Mut on the other side seemed shocked hearing it.

“You wish to spin your own fate, one you created on your own, make it a restriction upon the fate of this world, and then fulfil it? HAHAHA!”

It laughed somewhat maniacally but also satisfiedly, then it came into position and made a laying 8 shape, like the symbol for infinity, and signalised it was ready.

Adele’s eyes were glowing at this moment, fate was converging towards her and she recited an extremely long spell. The maximum she could put into this prophecy would be a thousand years of soul age. The reason for this was to limit the stronger witches and ensure they don’t break the rules too much, even the spiritual world didn’t want this.

She thought of various things and finally reduced her ideas two three points.

The first point is the most intense, it is the fall of the Church of the Free Bird. This church was mainly based on the northern continent and had a large influence into the Conquesta Empire, Albion Kingdom and the Kholodny Empire.

It is said that this church originated in the Kran empire but was split for inexplicable reasons. Adele had a different reason for her hate.

Although there was a limit on how many top inheritances a new world would receive, and also a limit on the number of inheritances from single organisations, this limit was mainly imposed on the high ranking inheritances.

Lower ranking ones are spread somewhat widely, and although there are also limitations on how many witches can come to be and how many can be born with witch talent, it is impossible for her to be the only one.

At least the inheritance should go towards the high rank, it wouldn’t be able to go beyond this, but it is expected that there should be a god figure even without the inheritance for this among the witches, yet there isn’t even any record of them existing at all.

A bit of research revealed it to Adele: the Church of the Free Bird, like any organisation in the spiritual world that cultivated Priesthood, hunted witches. They did so extremely widely and on the northern continent, there wasn’t a single one remaining. There were two more priesthoods in this world as far as Adele knew, one in the eastern continent and one in the southern.

It is very likely that they all acted together and in a combined force hunted all the witches. In truth, the Priesthood hates all of the six other paths of Witchcraft, Knighthood, Wizardry, Immortality, Technology, and Shamanism.

The reason it hates the witches so much is that they are the ones that influence them the most. Even their competitor, Shamanism, the only other path that focuses on faith, still has to win believers over, while the chaos produces by the witches are the reason an extremely large number of believers lose faith in a short time.

Adele knew that there must’ve been other witches, and of these few witches, none survived.

The influence of the necklace went deep into her soul and changed her wholeheartedly, she didn’t detest it at all. For her, it was like a rebirth, and this rebirth changed her from a Human to a Witch. Of all the paths, it is Witches and Immortals that have the largest detachment from their original race, and Adele felt closer to witches than humans, by far.

In fact, the only humans she accepted in her heart were her family, but the will of independence in a witch is greater than a human’s wish of society.
