Floating in the sky, he watched as the apartment complex that he had previously been in collapsed, as smoke and dust rose up into the air.
Coughing, he waved his hand around his face, the dust dissipating.
Looking around, his eyes suddenly widened.
"What… what the hell!?" he quietly said, noticing his surroundings. Around him, ruins of buildings, along with homes of people, as far as the eye could see, were destroyed; the ground was unearthed, and psychotic monsters could be seen fighting against one another.
Just as he was about to be lost in a daze, Los heard the growl of a certain creature below him as it slowly got up, ready for another fight.
Being shaken from his stupor, Los suddenly bolted off. His body rocketed forward in a clumsy streak, propelled by a raw, uncontrolled thrust he could only aim in one direction
"Wow, this… this is incredible," he gasped, his blurry figure moving through the sky. Not wanting to be caught in a crossfire between the two creatures, Los did the only thing reasonable at the time, and that was to run. The air resistance battered his face, his arms flailing slightly as he tried to streamline his form.
He was still not used to his ability: flying in the sky, being unrestrained by the world. It was all a new and surreal experience for him.
He was still barely able to control his flying, his only real skill being able to shoot off in one direction and maintain stability.
"This truly is amazing," he said, a smile emerging on his face again. Los had never felt so weightless before, so unrestrained, so… free.
…
Flying over the destroyed land, Los watched as strange, abhorrent creatures faced off against one another. They fought until the enemy was dead, and once that enemy was dead, a new one would arrive, its goal being the same as the others.
Los watched this ongoing scene with eyes mixed with curiosity and fright.
Staying relatively high in the air, Los flew around, looking for a place to land. When he suddenly locked eyes with a monster. The creature was not only ugly, it also had three horns protruding; two came from its mouth, while the last one was a short, curved spike that rested on its forehead. The sudden eye contact made him lurch upward, his flight path jerking as panic spiked his momentum
Fuck!

Not wanting to become targeted, Los quickly slowed his flight speed before darting off in a different direction.
"Since I'm already up here, I might as well try to find that pink dome." This was his last thought when he suddenly heard a screech coming from behind him.
He turned his head to look behind him when his face instantly darkened; the monster was the same creature he thought he had managed to pass by unnoticed.
Becoming anxious, Los quickly increased his speed in an attempt to escape; however, it didn't seem to do much as the monster began to gain momentum, closing in on the distance between the two.
Flying down, Los moved around the fray of creatures in an attempt to escape from his predicament. Using what little control he had over his ability to dodge and move around other monsters. He banked sharply by leaning his weight, narrowly avoiding a claw swipe, though the abrupt maneuverer left him wobbling.
Unfortunately, this proved to be a useless endeavour as the three-horned monster still followed him wherever he went, sometimes getting injured in the process. The winged beast ignored its wounds, its eyes solely set on Los.
Floating behind a stone wall, Los couldn't help but curse. "Damn it! Why is this thing so persistent?" he complained inwardly. This chase had been going on for a few minutes now, and Los was starting to get annoyed.
"Well, I guess it's hard to lose some guy flying around in blue Pajamas," he couldn't help but sigh at his predicament.
Bursting through the wall, the three-horned monster stretched its mouth before using it as a whip to attack.
Looking around, the winged creature looked around; to its disappointment, it couldn't find the person it had been chasing after. Using its nose, it started to track the person's scent again. Tilting its head in another direction, it took off into the sky.
In the sky, Los continuously cursed the monster as he continued flying upward. Dam it! Persistent bastard, why won't it just give up?
Behind him was the said beast; it had a few cuts on its skin, the cuts likely done by one of the monsters it had come in contact with. Ignoring the pain, it kept chasing its prey when suddenly, the space in front of its prey split open. Seeing its prey fly through, the beast tried to give chase when it was suddenly attacked.
…
Flying at what he thought was his top speed, Los turned his head to estimate the distance between him and the monster. Letting out haggard breaths, Los continued flying, trying to maintain his speed. He had been flying for too long, and although he did not know his limits, it was obvious that he was starting to slow down. The bag he was still carrying added extra weight to him.
At first, it wasn't much of a problem, but after playing this game of cat and mouse with the winged beast, his speed had begun to fall drastically.
Noticing this, the beast screeched as its speed increased.
Fuck, what am I supposed to do?
Los's thoughts began to move chaotically as the beast began closing the distance.
Am… am I going to die today? His heart raced at the thought. No! I can't die now, not yet… I just experienced the feeling of flying, and you want to eat me? Fat chance! he exclaimed inwardly.
Turning his head to face forward, Los prepared to try another method to escape when, out of nowhere, the space in front of him suddenly split apart.
Startled, Los tried his best to slow himself down, but it was too late; his body was already exhausted, and his mind was already tired. Even though he tried to slow himself down, it didn't work. The ruptured space had opened too close to him; because of his lacking control of his flying, Los just waved his arms about before unintentionally flying through the crack. His momentum carrying him helplessly into the unknown.
