Chapter 45

“Are you saying a God other than our father exists?” He softly asked.

The man had a smile on his face as he approached the siblings. His body looked as though it were chiselled of the finest marble man could gather and his face carried a smile carrying joy and less than admirable intentions.

He wore white spats that carried fractal-like burns and marks across their entirety. They looked like electricity burns. And it was the only article of clothing he wore.

Its tightness allowed every inch of his lower muscles to be proudly shown. His quads, glutes, upper thigh, whatever all looked as though they had been carved by a master sculptor, given their prominence.

The man wore parted grey hair and had some stubble gathered around his face. His hair flowed to just above his neck and he flicked it back before turning his gaze to Satan.

He patted the boy’s head, without asking mind you, and began chuckling.

“Heh, so that child has decided to recreate what was lost to us, man by man.”

Lucifer glared at him and Satan tried to take his hand off him. Surprisingly, however, this man could match his strength quite easily.

His hand strained as he tried to push him away and the old man could only chuckle at the boy's attempt.

He towered over both of them and stood somewhere within 7 feet of height.

“Stop teasing him,” Lucifer commented. “I'm sorry to say this Satan but this man is more than our match.” She continued.

“This man? How cruel Lucy, I'd give my heart for women as fine as the two of you.” He answered.

Satan was no longer tolerating his nonsense and opened his mouth. A beam formed and slammed into the old man like a bullet train, though tens of times quicker, sending him several kilometres away. He slammed into the side of a nearby mountain with a cloud of dust forming around him.

“Brother, that isn't anywhere near enough to take that man down.”

“Man?” A voice echoed. “I am a God, dear. And I'd love it if you got on your hands and knees to worship me. That creator of yours may be your father, but I'll have both of you calling me daddy!” The giddiness he said this with was sickening.

He jumped from the dust and Lucifer stopped Satan from engaging him further.

“That is a worm of a man, who was once a god in the former world. His name is-”

The man managed to get himself behind Satan and began playing with a wing of his. Satan gritted his teeth and tried to backhand him but stopped in his tracks when the man gave him a gentle nibble on his wing. The poor Satan squealed like a trapped rabbit and his sister pulled him away.

“I've been a bird before but if this is the new humanity, then I'll have no complaints if these lovely little things are a part of you. Pulling hair is fun but imagine the spasms when pulling on a win-”

The sky above cracked with thunder and dark clouds now blotted the sky, leaving the world in a darkness only broken up by the raging lightning. A voice boomed.

  “ZEUS, STOP THIS AT ONCE!”

  (“Father?”) Satan thought.

Zeus slowly walked back and held his hands up, as if trying to convince the one above that he heard him loud and clear.

“Easy, youngster, I'm just samplin-” The sky cracked louder and he reconsidered his words.

“Getting a better look at your humanity. No harm meant, right /??????????????????×??????????????????????=????????????????????%???????????#???????????”

The sky cleared and the void of space replaced it.

He breathed a sigh of relief and turned back to the duo.

“He is a perverted cretin known as Zeus, that has no problem impregnating his own family, as long as they have a vagina between their legs,” Lucifer said in a rather scathing manner. “But I never knew you picked up a taste for men.”

Those words caught his attention and he took a rather long look at Satan. He soon shrugged his shoulders.

“I have no problem honouring my old people, after all, they did quite enjoy things like this.” He said with a smirk, directing it at the boy. “But I was the all-father, so I can just as easily make you a woman if I so choose.”

He quickly hid behind Lucifer and her face grew closer to a demon’s than an angel’s at his words.

“You're despicable. Why our father hasn't smote you is a mystery.”

“Smite the god of lightning? Now that is funny, Lucy. But if you want me to show you a lightning rod, I can-”

A man an inch or so taller than Zeus walked up to him. In his quivering, the boy had hardly noticed his approach.

“Father…” He lowered his voice. “Hera has been watching you for the past few minutes.”

Sweat broke out across his face and his demeanour became far less confident.

“T-thank you for that heads up, Hercule.” He cleared his throat and looked at the two. “I expect great things from you both. Ensure a healthy population of your kind when you finish. After all, we gods do need a populace to rule over.”

He jumped away, reaching the heights of an airplane and the other man gave them both a gentle gaze.

“Please let us know if Father decides to bother you again. Take care, young one. And you as well Lucifer.” He followed behind Zeus, soon after.

Satan walked from behind his sister and glared in the direction of the man who formerly stood before him, his head being filled with nasty and brutal thoughts. He tugged on her clothing before looking up at her.

“...sister, can we kill that Zeus fellow?”

“Father dislikes killing so I'm afraid not. But I'm sure there will come a time such a fellow gets punished.”

She patted him on the head and the two continued walking in the wasteland, with no destination in mind.

It seems our connection has entwined our memories… No matter, there's no harm in the boy seeing my past.

Tibaut woke up in a cold sweat and heard something scrap against his door.

“Lucy? What was she doing there? And who the hell was that?”

Whether a strange dream or more, he had no idea.
