The Agent

Liz was wearing one of those floral gowns with puffy sleeves as her long black hair was tied in a loose braid. Some strands were on her face that seemed flushed. She looked well rested and calm, something I felt a tad bit jealous of. Damn my father.

I was wearing my usual white shirt, but one that was more modest as my hair was right side parted and the rest of my hair on the left side was slicked back, to not have it appear 'wild'. I was wearing purple pants.

"Liam, would you like to rest?" Liz stood up from her chair that was placed beside the mirror.

Her earrings bounced as she stood up. I extended my hand to touch her earrings.

"Your hair looks better, you look cute today." I smiled.

"Ah... thanks. You look dashing...?" She was taken back as she adjusted her thick braids. "Do you like need something?"

  "Can't compliment my wife?"

"I am not your wife exactly, you know?"

"Well, if anyone asks tell them I was busy with you the whole day, okay?" I turned toward the exit.

  "Creating grandkids-"

"Whatever fits. I have to do something." I exited the room.

I could imagine Vince and Elena working under piercing gaze of dad. It made me chuckle. Only Rory received special treatment from dad and Dina...

I walked toward inside the hallways, passing the countless arts on the wall, the mirror and the numerous royal doors. The brown wood and the golden knob complimented the seaweed green walls.

I stopped in front of the staircase to the rooftop, at the end of the hallway and made my way up.

I hawked around for the sign of anyone and then made my way to the storage room.

  ....

There he was, tied to the chair. It took five days of sleepless nights to find him. Overworking after doing the work of supervisor almost made me give up. God Liz, you are sooo lucky.

The man was Rade Terrs. He died his green hair black to hide. People really have variety of colours in this world huh? Green is normal. So is black and brown between peasants.

Rade was the carriage driver. The one who was responsible for me on my wedding day.

"So Rade, after starving the whoooole day, want this bread?" I slid the plate with loaf of bread closer to him. He was gawking at it the whole day but couldn't eat it, poor guy.

"I don't know anything." He looked away.

"Hmm.... how's your son? The one living in the orphanage working under your 'boss'?"

I smiled as I sat on the table with my right foot between his legs and the other one on the bar of the table, the rod like structure at the bottom.

"How did you-" Rage filled his eyes as my respect for him as a father grew.

"Your boss wasn't really trying to protect you, it was sooo easy to find you, took like an hour." I was lying, but it seemed believable.

He seemed stunned. I took the loaf of bread on my hand and hovered it in front of him.

"You eat it, you work for me, tell me everything you know and we make your son get adopted by a friend of me and live a happy life. If you don't, you can get killed and your son, well, will be dependent on his fate."

His face contorted into that of pain and disbelief. Tears fell from his light brown eyes and flew threw his already white beard.

"Can I atleast meet him last time?"

"You can meet him as often as you'd like. As long as you don't betray me and get yourself beheaded." I spoke with disinterest and boredom in my voice as I shook the bread.

He gulped before slowly taking a small bite and chewing it, savouring the taste.

  Rade was now in.

I don't really have a use for him in mind but what he can do is act as the king's servant and provide him with false information. He was on the run on king's order so he should be able to ask king for favor.

"What do I have to do?"

"Just one thing. Go to the king and tell him that I have been looking for you." I smiled.

"That's it? And you will let me live?"

"You are not my aim, darling" I spoke the last word in a mocking tone.

  "...."

"Very well then, it will be done by tomorrow."

  Let's meet Victor.

  I stepped outside the room.

"Neon. Clean it up please." A 42-year old man with orange hair and purple eyes stood with his hand at back in attention pose. He served my mom back then as her knight, now he is serving me again after I returned.

  "Yes Lord."

"Also, you might be getting a son."

  "...."

  "..."

  "Yes, lord"

Neon spoke with the same deep, yet monotone voice of his as it seemed like even an apocalypse won't get a reaction out of him.

'Ahh, its almost noon. Still have time I suppose.'

I walked around the storage room and peeked inside to see Neon freeing Rade, occasionally talking to him and watching him eat.

Something caught my eye. It was the shape of dust on the window on one corner and the fact it had no spider web on the same corner. The hinge of that corner was also not fixed properly and stood up noticeably on top.
