Chapter 6: The Light of Eshiria
Malong, who had doubts in his mind, had the opportunity to call out to Bernard-Yeberle, but he ultimately didn't say anything, just watching as Bernard walked further and further away with the lovely blue-haired little fox girl Amy.
Ma Long, he is no longer the original Ma Long - Li Zhe, he will definitely live a brand new life.
So even if this question is asked clearly, what's the point?
"Ai Si Te, let's go back."
Ma Long withdrew his gaze.
"What's the hurry!" Although he had just lost five guilders, Auster's mood adjusted extremely quickly. He turned back into a smiling face: "Now, it's clear that we should go find a place to celebrate you becoming a great author! Hmm, I know of a particularly good restaurant..."
After hearing Aister's words, Malong thought for a moment and nodded - that's right, at this time, not finding a restaurant to entertain Aister who had helped out would be unreasonable.
What is often referred to as "knowing how to be a good person" actually just boils down to these small acts.
"Alright, let's go to that restaurant you mentioned, I'll treat! But first, take me to the nearest Soles Bank." Ma Long revealed a gentle smile.
Eva had paid out that thousand rands in a cheque from Sol's bank.
"Ah ha, brother, you got the check from Queen Eve of Red Hair? That's easy, I was originally going to go home and get some more money." Est actually had already gotten used to a rich lifestyle, Marlon only said half of what he meant and Est already understood, but after pausing for a moment, he became slightly indignant: "Damn it, that fox-headed guy from earlier really had a black heart, just messing around and the repair fee was 5 lanters! Why didn't he go rob..."
Ma Long smiled and casually told Aisite a small story ——
"Once upon a time, an important mechanical equipment in a factory broke down and many repair workers tried to fix it but failed."
"A skilled repair technician heard the news and came over, listened for a moment beside it, drew a horizontal line on the mechanical equipment with his hand, and said that if he dismantled one of the coils inside, the machine would return to normal. Then he asked for a labor fee of 1,000 rand."
The boss of the factory thought the price was too high, and the repair technician pointed to the white line he drew slowly and replied: Indeed, drawing this white line may only be worth 0.1 Rand; but knowing why this white line is drawn here, it's worth...999.9 Rand.
After listening to the story, Aisite blinked her round and shiny cow eyes and added: "Brother, I didn't understand. What does this thing you're talking about mean?"
To know what you know and what you don't know is a good habit.
"It's quite simple, Mr. Bernard from earlier is probably a very skilled repair technician."
Are you saying that a steam armored soldier from the war years would have poor repair skills?
At least Ma Long thought it wouldn't be much different.
"Oh, I get it now." Est said, rubbing the back of his head before jumping back onto his steam motorcycle: "Ah, feels much better!"
Ma Long shook his head and sat down behind the Bull Head youth, who was in a better mood again.
A minute later, the Marlon steam locomotive stopped in front of a Solace Bank revolving door with a pale metallic sheen and a pink sign that looked very strange.
As he stepped inside, the bank lobby wasn't crowded with people doing business. There was only one person in front of Ma Long, a man wrapped entirely in black cloth, exuding an aura that warned others to keep their distance.
It's probably an undead lich, Marlon thought to himself, as he saw the hand stretching out towards the bank counter in front of him, with only a thin layer of dry, scaly dead skin covered in corpse spots.
To be honest, thinking of standing in front of a talking skeleton made Malong feel slightly nauseous.
Fortunately, the witch quickly finished her business and turned away with a somewhat stiff gait.
It was Ma Long's turn, and the check for one thousand yuan caused a small commotion. The half-attentive bank clerk looked at Ma Long with some suspicion, asked him several questions in a roundabout way, and finally paid out the money.
One thousand Rand is a not-so-big, not-so-small amount of money. Compared to the heavenly dynasty on Earth, it's equivalent to at least 50,000 soft sister coins, so Malong can understand the cautious attitude of the half-body human salesperson.
After all, Ma Long's current image is just a 14 or 15-year-old boy.
On this planet, it's unlikely that a bank clerk would let a 14 or 15-year-old take away 50,000 to 60,000 yuan from their own hands - at least not in China.
……
That fantastic restaurant in Ayster's mouth is called "Eshiria's Light", not far from the Sols Bank and on the edge of the busiest area of the city center.
The name "Eshiria's Light" comes from the Elven language, originally referring to the garden of the Elven goddess Eshiria, the Goddess of Hunting and Celebration. It is said that this garden was naturally formed, with beauty beyond compare.
Unfortunately, however, the goddess Eshillia also fell in that divine war which caused half of the gods to fall a myriad years ago. Now she and her garden only appear in the dusty book piles of the elven realm "Kalantu", as well as in the poems of traveling bards.
The "Eshirya's Light" in White Sand Castle, of course, is not the courtyard of Goddess Eshirya, but a spirit-flavored restaurant with this name as its signboard.
To showcase its unique style, the Eshilira Light restaurant was built on a thirty-people-hugging-thick oak tree, with individual box-shaped book houses scattered among the lush green leaves.
Surrounded by steel and iron, even with large and small iron chimneys constantly spewing out steam, the Echiria Light Restaurant, filled with natural atmosphere, stands out as a unique and delightful sight.
Ester was clearly a regular, as he pulled up in the car and immediately waved over a valet dressed in an emerald green tailcoat to park it for him, while he himself dragged Marlon along as they zoomed up the spiral staircase that wrapped around a massive oak tree.
Soon, Ma Long and A'Er appeared in a large tree house closest to the ground.
Inside this large tree house, there were about ten tables in the style of the Elf tribe. After finding a table by the window and sitting down, a flower fairy waitress with butterfly wings on her back immediately brought over menus for the two of them.
"Brother, you order, don't be too bland! You know me, I'd die without meat." Estelle pushed the menu to Malong.
Ma Long was about to make an excuse when a loud rumbling sound came rolling in from outside the tree house, exploding into his ears like thunder.
Subconsciously looking out the window, he just happened to see the Sol's Bank where he had just withdrawn money from inside, crumbling and collapsing with a loud crash.
After a little while, Malong saw five agile black-clothed masked men, holding large steam guns, alternately covering the back of a heavily burdened female masked beastman, rushing out of the dusty ruins of the Sol Bank.
"My god, even if they were robbing a bank, these guys are making too much noise!"
There's no doubt that this sentence was spoken by Ayster. Marlon is busy witnessing the bank robbery, and in the earthly world, he has never had such an opportunity.
It seemed to be annotating Estelle's words, and the shrill alarm sounded from all directions, then a blue-and-white, large-and-small white sand city police steam vehicle emerged one after another from various intersections...
This made Ma Long feel somewhat strange——
Isn't it said that police always appear after the criminals have committed their crimes and escaped? How can these interdimensional police react so quickly?
