Chapter 23: The Literary Massacre

  Chapter 23: The Literary Massacre

Lucifer, wearing a wig, was sent away by Eve.

Emerald Pattern Publishing House Deputy General Manager and also the Chief Editor, Arlande, was fortunately left behind and heard Malong's narration of the "Three Wins Plan" basic idea.

"First, we need...... then, it's...... next...... followed by...... finally...... and that's a perfect win-win-win situation!"

Enduring the temper of her son, she listened to Ma Long's such and such "narration".

Alan Dourneau, who had spent his whole life in publishing, did not react with unconditional approval, but instead stared wide-eyed and exclaimed:

"No way! This is a terrible idea! It has no chance of success whatsoever! Miss Evina, this wretched idea will completely destroy the publishing house your father worked so hard to establish!"

There is no doubt that the white-haired Arlandor held a completely pessimistic attitude towards Marlon's "Three-Win Plan".

To prevent this plan from becoming a reality, Arland even stopped calling her "Eva-sama" and instead called her "Miss Eva", moving with emotion and persuading with reason.

Eva, on the other hand, was slightly absent-minded with her hands crossed and pressed against her cherry lips.

Even if Evana had the title of Red-Haired Queen, even she couldn't help but admit that Marlon's proposed "Three-Win Plan" was too bold, too adventurous, and too unbelievable!

"I... " Evana's mind was a bit messy: "I need to think for a moment."

"Think carefully." Ma Long said, his mouth a bit dry, and somewhat nonchalantly added a sentence. However, he immediately continued: "But I've heard a rural proverb that says 'the bold will be killed by overexertion, the timid will starve to death'. If you want to accomplish great things and solve big problems... how can you do it without having a big heart?"

Alright, that's Malong being a bit underhanded. He's clearly intentionally getting back at Evna for what she said to him earlier: "You? You're useless, you can't help!"

  Who is Yvonne?

The little cleverness contained in Malong's words was understood by Yvonne as soon as he spoke, and she looked up at Malong with a hint of pride. Yvonne felt both angry and amused.

  This little guy!

They say he's immature, yet his literary creations are breathtaking and he even came up with the terrifying "Three Wins Plan"; they say he's mature, but now he's gloating over gaining a slight advantage in words... This personality that switches between immaturity and maturity makes one wonder what to say?

"Alright then." Marlon's quip caused Evana, who was struggling with whether or not to make a decision, to involuntarily stray into the issue of the plan's feasibility: "Marlon, according to your proposal just now, first you need to provide at least ten attractive stories, but for now, it's not us, only 'The Little Prince' and 'Snow White'."

Ma Long smiled and with his right index finger, he tapped his temple: "I've said it before, there are good stories inside... many, many more."

Then, Ma Long counted on his fingers: "Which ten stories should I use to make up for it? Hmm, let me think... 'The Little Prince' is one, 'Snow White' is two, 'Pinocchio' is three, 'Puss in Boots' is four, 'Cinderella' is five, 'Sleeping Beauty' is six, and then the seventh one is 'Shrek' to wrap it up. That's all for fairy tales. Let's add three more that adults can fantasize about. For men, there's 'The Count of Monte Cristo', and for women, there's 'The Royal Crest'. And finally, a big finale with 'Purple River'!"

After cracking his fingers, Ma Long raised his head and saw two faces that had already fallen into a daze, their chins about to drop to the ground.

This made Ma Long secretly pleased, because this was exactly what he wanted to see.

"Of course, facing their astonished expressions, Ma Long still had to pretend a bit: 'You guys, why are you looking at me like that?'"

In Marlon's refreshing gaze, Evna slowly retracted her surprised expression and raised a finger: "Marlon, first question, can you tell me roughly about these ten stories of yours?"

"Of course." Ma Long smiled again, revealing his eight white teeth.

But then Ma Long didn't tell a general outline of the story, but instead told a part of the beginning of each story.

When telling the first six stories, it was okay, although Malong jumped to the next story before he finished half of it. Whether it was Queen Eve with red hair or Alan Doyle with white hair, they could still sit and listen calmly.

But when Ma Long finally told the seventh story "Shrek", out of nowhere appeared the cat in boots from "Puss in Boots", Prince Philip from "Sleeping Beauty", Pinocchio from "Pinocchio" and so on, Evana and Arundel - went crazy!

To know, whether it's Evanna or Arundel, they are actually old publishers of Gan Lao Le Publishing House!

Haven't they realized by now what Malong wants to do?

This little guy, this little guy... The first six stories were so rich in imagination that they were terrifying, and it turned out that they were all just a prelude to the even more unbelievable story of "Shrek"?!

Not to mention anything else, just this innovative move that links the story together is enough to make this kid an overnight sensation and a deservedly renowned young writer!

Eva and Arandor exchanged a glance, both reading shock from each other's eyes.

Then, without even needing Evina's hint, the white-haired Arlandor had already issued an urgent inquiry that was incoherent due to extreme excitement: "Marlon, continue telling this 'Monster Shrek'! No, no, tell the eighth story! Quickly tell your eighth story!"

The eighth story Ma Long prepared is "The Count of Monte Cristo".

And what is "The Count of Monte Cristo"? In short, it is a world-renowned masterpiece and the ancestor of YY!

The protagonist, who was framed and imprisoned, received the teachings of a superior man in prison. After being released from prison, he found the treasure left by the superior man and transformed into the elegant Count of Monte Cristo, mingling with high society, seeking revenge on his enemies and rewarding those who helped him... In this literary world still in the classical era, there are only five words to describe it: literary, academic, grand, murderous, and heroic!

So, Ma Long's revised "The Count of Monte Cristo" hasn't been told much yet, and the white-haired Arnaud is already almost out of breath from being too into the play and overexcited.

Afraid of causing loss of life, Ma Long hastily stopped copying "The Count of Monte Cristo" and began to tell the ninth story "The Royal Emblem".

So what's the story with "The Royal Crest of the Wang Family"?

"The King's Badge", also known as "The Daughter of the Nile"

It tells the story of a female protagonist with an archaeological background, who accidentally travels through time and space again and again, and is pursued by handsome and elegant, yet different in character, beautiful kings.

All of this completely fulfilled the women's innermost fantasy of a house full of handsome men.

So, this "Daughter of the Nile" is absolutely devastating to women!

At least, Malong saw that the red-haired queen, Evna, under his released "Royal Crest", couldn't help but reveal a hint of her heart racing with excitement - stripping away her layers of disguise, Evna was actually just a girl who would wildly fantasize.

Thinking of this, Ma Long finally released his last big killer - the online masterpiece "Zi Chuan" with a strong network YY literary flavor.

In Malong's imagination, the subversive content in "Zi Chuan" would definitely make Yvonne and Arlande's eyeballs and chins drop to the ground.
