Chapter 3: The Slave System
It's undoubtedly Ayster who tried to sneak in through the window...
Ma Long thought so.
Pushing open the door, I indeed saw a young Minotaur with a bitter expression, bound into a giant rice dumpling shape by Liedert Ruveil's natural magic using the evergreen ivy.
Then Malong hastily explained to Lizard Druid Master that this was not a cow-headed fool, but his good brother Estre.
Now that Ma Long had confirmed Aishe's identity, Master Lich Druid let go of the animated ivy and released the poor young Minotaur, slithering back like a snake to the outer wall of the small villa.
"Ai Si Te, if you want to play, then just come and play... why don't you use the main door, but instead insist on climbing through a window?"
Ma Long asked with some amusement.
"Isn't this what I wanted to relive the old feeling?!" The ox-headed youth still looked gloomy: "It's really embarrassing, I actually forgot that you're here, and now there's a Druid master sitting in."
After finishing speaking, the cow-headed youth had a lingering fear in his heart and glanced at the evergreen ivy that was crawling on the outer wall of the small villa, fluttering in the wind.
After being activated, countless snakes and worms constantly twisted and tied up with evergreen vines, really not a pleasant memory, really!
After being reminded by the Minotaur youth, Ma Long finally recalled that before he crossed over, the Minotaur youth would often visit him - Liszt, and indeed mostly did not enter through the main door but instead climbed in through the attic window.
"This is not Master Conchita's fault, as there were many night thieves who came two days ago wanting to invade this house." Looking at the depressed face of the cow-headed boy Ayster, Marlon smiled and continued: "Okay, let's not talk about that now, I'll introduce you..."
Fortunately, apart from Adela and Master Druid, everyone else in the villa was someone Marlon didn't need to introduce to Auster.
After spending a little time introducing the stranger to the cow-headed boy, Ma Long dragged him into the living room.
As it happened to be at this hour when dinner was about to start, Ma Long asked Adela to go out and buy a large quantity of cooked meat dishes that Aixter loved from a giant demon restaurant on the street corner.
The only thing that made Ma Long feel sorry was that his current body was still young, so he couldn't buy beer back at the dwarf hotel next to the giant's restaurant.
That dwarf hotel is newly opened, during the World War, food was a strategic material, using precious food to brew wine was a great sin, violating the "Prohibition Order" and being caught would be severely punished, even being taken away to be shot. But now, the war has ended...
And that newly opened hotel, in order to make a name for itself, the quality of its wine and drinks shouldn't be too bad, right?
At least Marlon was interested in tasting the flavor of dwarf beer.
With a faint sense of melancholy, Malong casually asked the cow-headed youth Aister why it had taken him so long to come and play with him.
It's better not to ask, but Ma Long asked and the cow-headed youth suddenly had a face full of grief and indignation: "Brother, I've been working hard for six days! Today was the first day I managed to escape from my old man's sweatshop! This is all your fault!"
"Blame me? What for?"
Ma Long was completely bewildered.
"You forgot? My old man's factory is a paper mill......" The cow-headed youth was so depressed that he almost cried: "Feicuiwen Chapter Publishing House, Baisha Morning News Agency, Baisha Evening News Agency, they are all my old man's big clients!"
Alright, Ma Long finally understood that the young man with a cow-shaped head was doing hard labor in his own father's blood and sweat factory, and it really had a great deal to do with him.
The young Minotaur continued to grumble, "Those Drell slaves in the factory, as long as no one is watching, will slack off and can't be pushed too hard, or they'll definitely do something like secretly throwing things into the pulp..."
"This is the biggest drawback of slave factories."
Ma Long shook his head and replied casually.
"Yeah, I think so too. But that old man of mine doesn't care about any of this. He wishes all the workers in the factory were unpaid slaves."
The young Minotaur nodded in agreement, and after finishing speaking, he casually grabbed a whole sausage and threw it into his mouth, swallowing it without even chewing.
"This is not good, it will cause problems sooner or later." Malong from the Earth world would not agree with this kind of slave labor factory: "Actually, if you just pay these slaves a small amount of wages and then increase rewards based on their workload, they can even regain their freedom if they do well. If you also open some stores in the factory where slaves can buy goods with their wages, the factory can even make more profits. And you won't have to be caught by your dad to work as a laborer."
"Pay the slaves a small wage? Give them rewards for their labor? Restore their freedom as citizens when they do well? And open shops in the factories at the same time?" The Minotaur stopped his hand that was going to grab food, blinked his bull eyes several times, and then shouted: "Brother, you are simply a genius! This idea is fantastic!"
Then, the young Minotaur jumped up and ran towards the direction of the door: "No way, I'm going back to talk to my dad right now. I bet if I tell him that this idea was yours and it made him a lot of money in these few days, he'll probably consider it!"
"Oh - almost forgot, thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Bernard and Miss Amy!"
When he said this, Ayster's body was already outside the gate, and only about 180 degrees of his cow head remained inside.
Then came the rumble of the steam train chugging away into the distance.
Alright, in this case, Ma Long could only smile wryly again.
However, in his heart, Ma Long was actually quite looking forward to it, because he was very clear about what a chain reaction meant - if Aisite could successfully persuade that old slave-driving factory owner of his to start paying wages to the slaves, surely other factory owners would soon follow suit?
This expectation even made Ma Long selectively forget that on Earth, a superpower almost split into two countries due to similar reasons.
"Master Druid, suddenly spoke up and said: 'The use of slaves goes against the natural order. This accursed system will eventually be overthrown.'"
Ma Long looked at the calm and composed Lüdru and nodded subconsciously "That's right!"
It was roughly Marlon's attitude that pleased Master Llewellyn so much, and so he quickly spoke again: "The glory of the radiant gods will be revealed, and all flesh shall see it... Marlon, my friend, you will soon see the dawn of your dreams in the newspapers."
This time, Ma Long understood ——
Master Lizardude, this is a subtle hint at him!
Then, Marlon looked at Lizard Druid Master with a strange expression - although he sympathized with those slaves, Marlon did not want this world to have another war!
Ma Long is just an ordinary person, he has no interest in being a revolutionary pioneer in this alien world.
