Chapter 30: The Devil Worshipper (Please collect!)
Musa's question, Malong has no answer to give.
Ma Long could only hurry back to the street corner and drive Musa-Mayn straight to Sphynx Street.
Just as Marlon knew, his young friend Esteban lived on Sphinx Street.
Originally, Ma Long had a great opportunity to rush to Sphenkra Street to take a look at Aister before the Lizard Druid Master rescued the Minotaur youth, and see what he encountered on this sudden night of chaos.
That mediocre steam car, however, thoroughly collapsed after intimately contacting a lamppost halfway through the journey, allowing Ma Long to fully realize that the steam machinery in this world was actually rough on the outside and fragile at its core.
Musa-Mei carried a magic crystal pneumatic nail gun and wanted to stop a car casually on the street, then "temporarily requisition" it.
Unfortunately, Musa-Mein is a high-IQ young magical scientist, but not an emotionally intelligent carjacker. Who would be foolish enough to stop in front of Musa-Mein, who is holding a gun in one hand and stretching out the other hand to try to flag down passing cars?
So, when Ma Long and Musa-Mein finally ran to Sphenkra Street with a gasp, all they could see was the back of the giant bear-like Druid Master Lycantheus, who had already walked away with the hunchbacked cow-headed boy.
"Malong, look over there."
As Malong watched with a face full of regret, Master Lizardru was getting farther and farther away. Musa-Mein, however, was pointing at another narrow alleyway.
Quickly turning in the direction Musa-Mein pointed, Malong saw that at the entrance of the narrow alley, there seemed to be three or four men wearing strange black and red striped clothes, with braids similar to ugly money mouse tails, trying to drag two struggling young women into the dark depths of the alley.
Go save the beauty?
This is nothing but a waste of time, this world seems incredibly real, yet it's ultimately in the fake "fragmented plane projection".
"Look at those guys' clothes and hairstyles, they're devil worshippers! The one they worship is the demon lord Nebiros!"
Musa-Maein continued, he had even judged who those devil worshipers worshipped.
"How did you know so clearly?"
Ma Long couldn't help but ask this sentence.
"Because I once sought the power of revenge from the demon lords." Musa-Meyn replied, pausing for a moment before continuing: "Until I discovered that these supposedly powerful demon lords, acknowledged by the will of the abyss, whose avatars can be projected into our world, cannot even withstand an ordinary soldier who has not studied any sacred arts, with a storm of ten rounds from a machine gun loaded with special holy bullets."
Alright, now Malakai finally almost completely understood - it seemed that Musa-Meyn had also worshipped the demon lord Nebiros before, and might have even summoned a projection of Nebiros, but that projection was unexpectedly easily taken down by an ordinary soldier armed with "special ammunition"!
As expected, the world has changed. The Demon Lord who once reigned supreme in the era of swords and magic has now become a soft-shelled shrimp that even ordinary soldiers can easily take down in this age of guns and "special ammunition".
This feeling is just like... um, just like the words written by Karl Marx in "Das Kapital" - "Gunpowder blew up the knight's castle, the compass opened up the geographical discoveries, printing became the tool of Protestantism, and finally became the lever that changed this world."
Bartol, a pseudo-god stuck in the era of swords and magic, was easily defeated by Neftul-Ekramon because he failed to keep up with the times.
The demon lords who still linger in the era of swords and magic are also because they have not kept up with the times and fallen behind this era, and then they will be ruthlessly abandoned by Musa-Mein.
But obviously, any era would not be short of foolish husbands and wives, and the devil worshipers who were trying to drag two young women into the deep alley at that narrow alley mouth undoubtedly belonged to this category.
Ma Long rushed to this Sphynx Street, the primary purpose was to take a look at the Cow Head Boy Aister, what kind of accident had happened to him, now this purpose has been completely unachievable.
So, Ma Long was left with only one thing he could do - gather intelligence on these devil worshippers.
Wait!
What did Musa-Mein just say? Did he also worship that demon lord called Nebiros?!
In that case, shouldn't he also know what those devil worshippers on the other side want to do?
As soon as he thought of this, Ma Long immediately asked the question: "Musa, what do these devil worshippers want to do? Kidnap?"
Musa-Mein shook his head firmly and said his judgment: "No, it's not a kidnapping, they're... catching people for sacrifice."
Human sacrifice?!
Ma Long was born under the red flag and grew up in peace. This is all correct, but what this "human sacrifice" is, he is extremely clear!
In history textbooks, after growing up and having to write, I have seen the term "human sacrifice" countless times in various historical materials that I have looked through.
So, Ma Long clearly knew that if those devil worshippers were allowed to succeed, the two young women would soon be slaughtered like livestock in front of an altar or something similar, and their cold corpses, hearts, livers, skulls, etc. would be used as sacrifices to appease the devils' pleasure...
Damn it! These damn devil worshippers!
Ma Long is not an animal protectionist, he just thinks: As a human being, one should not be treated like livestock.
The impulse in his heart told Marlon that he should take the magic crystal pneumatic nail gun from Musa-Mein's hand, kill those filthy devil worshipers, and then rescue those two poor young women.
However, reason told Malong that this was a false "facet projection fragment".
Those two poor women who were about to be dragged into a dark alley, probably would have already...
So reason finally suppressed the impulse in his heart, and Ma Long asked again: "Musa, if these two girls were caught and sacrificed to people, would they be killed quickly?"
"It may or may not happen, it all depends on the intention of the Blood Fist leader. However, Nebiros prefers to accept people who have been severely abused as sacrifices." Musa-Mein shook his head in response, and then hurriedly added: "Nebiros does not have a church, only small, self-formed organizations of devil worshipers. These small leaders can all call themselves Blood Fist leaders."
Ma Long nodded, then looked into Musa-Mein's eyes and asked: "Musa-Mein, you said earlier that you also used to worship this demon lord, so... have you ever done the same things as them?"
"No." Musa-Mein shook his head curtly: "The offering I present is a part of my own soul."
Musa's firm reply finally allowed Malong to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Go! We... follow them!"
