"Hello, all, and welcome to Magic Crafting class!"
WHAT AM I DOING HERE??? I huff. Typical 'It's a new quarter of the year, so basically the first day of school' thing. Maybe I could use my Magical Item to listen to Yorushika? I dig around in the pocket of my dress and pull out the MI that looks like a pair of INSANELY glittery AirPods. I hold them up to my mouth and whisper, "Yorushika," and jam them in my ears. Fortunately, the class is CRAZY LOUD, and nobody notices me. Plus, they're all trying to impress the prince. I do not need to be associated with him. The high-status girls would HUNT ME DOWN. Last quarter, some girl sent an assassin after me. I miraculously escaped by throwing a glitter bomb in her face and then hiding in armour. I'm a genius.

The teacher says something like "We're gonna do names and favourite things now," but it's kinda hard to decipher through ヒッチカック ringing in my ears. Looks like they're doing it in status order, so I'll be 8th or 9th. I dunno. Nor do I care. I continue jamming to ヒッチカック and being bored. "Miss, it's your turn," the teacher says, gesturing at me. Hurrah.
"I'm Yuki. I like utau to tabe--" I cut myself off. Why was I about to say "singing songs and eating food"? In Japanese? "Singing songs," I quickly finish. Everyone nods and then pays attention to the next person. "だから僕は音楽を辞めた” begins to play, and I've always had trouble not totally jamming to it.
Keith taps my shoulder. "Turn your music dooooooown," he says in an exaggerated whisper. Out of pure spite, I begin playing "Ai Shite, Ai Shite, Ai Shite" at full volume.
"Yuki Ebibuzawa, please leave for the remainder of class. And give me the headphones."
should I do more of these little side stories?
