TBE Chapter 72

  Ezekiel stopped their cart during lunchtime in a nearby stream that they stumbled into while he was looking for a place to stop for their lunch. The bubbling of the spring was music to their ears since it brought a sense of freshness to the three siblings.

  “Can we play in the water, Brother?” Robert suddenly asked while looking at the stream.

  He then told his brothers to wait a bit. Ezekiel commanded Yuki Onna to inspect the stream for anything dangerous and he made sure that his Familiar was thorough. Yuki Onna flew upstream and downstream, making sure that there were no dangerous animals nearby. Even small predators like snakes wouldn’t be able to miss his owl’s eyes.

  While Yuki Onna was inspecting the tiny river, Ezekiel arranged their cart. He also arranged their lunch on the table on top of the cart that he parked beneath a tree. When his Familiar reported that there were no dangerous animals nearby, Ezekiel suddenly removed his clothes except his boxers then ran towards the stream and jumped into the water.

  Robert and Luke looked surprised but soon laughed as well and joined him in the stream after shedding off their clothes. The stream was shallow so there wasn’t any danger of them going under but it was deep enough that they could swim a bit. The boys' toy ship followed them into the stream and the funny part was, that the toy was using its hands to make sure that the action figures that were placed on top of it wouldn’t get lost. The ship was also swimming circles around them, its feet were like motor and this made the three siblings laugh in delight.

  They spent an hour frolicking in the water and when they got hungry, the three boys ran toward the cart where the food that Ezekiel prepared was placed. He knew that the food wouldn’t be affected by any of the wildlife, even insects, since Ezekiel asked Yuki Onna to look after their food.

  When the three boys reached their bentos, they devoured the food like they were hungry piranhas, and then the three ran back to the stream to continue playing. The toy ship who followed them to the cart, ran behind them again and jumped into the stream as well. Ezekiel had to admit that toys that were woken up by the Tiny Servant spell were a delight. They were very funny to look at, providing endless fun to the looker. Robert and Luke had even forgotten their original playmates, the wooden blocks, and when Ezekiel asked where they were, the two just shrugged indicating that they had lost those toys somewhere.

  They kept on playing in the water that for a moment, Ezekiel was worried that they would get sick but he just shrugged and thought that they would just drink healing elixir later. When he checked the time in his system browser, it told him that it was already around four in the afternoon. He decided that they would just camp for the night there.

  When Ezekiel saw that the sun was setting due to the lights dimming, he told his two brothers that it was time to get out of the water. They ran to the cart, retrieved the towels that he purchased before from one of the boxes, and dried themselves. Then they wore the extra clothes that were in the box as well.

  He cleaned up their soiled clothes by using his Prestidigitation Spell then purchased the 2nd level spell Gust of Wind for 5 silver coins and then dried the clothes using the recently purchased spell. Ezekiel also decided then that maybe at a later time, once his general fund reached around 20 gold coins, he would purchase all the low-level spells. He then should take time practicing his magic by casting them repeatedly while they were traveling since he wasn’t doing anything but napping while on the road.

  Ezekiel decided then that the next day, he would practice casting all the spells that he had while they were traveling the road since there were no people who would be able to see them anyway. He knew that it was important that he learned the intricacies of his spells so he wouldn’t be surprised if there were effects that would occur that he hadn’t anticipated.

  When the clothes were dry, he stored them in the boxes then he selected the best place where he could create the Galder’s Towers that they had been using during travel. When a beautiful two-story eleven spire and two one-story elven spire appeared, Ezekiel had to admit that netizens from Earth were remarkable designers since the towers were copied from them but then he thought that it might be a mistake to design the towers that way.

  Their Galder’s Tower looked magical but the problem was they looked too magical and strange to the eyes of the locals and might cause issues if were seen by others but then again, their design would still work on the excuse of the three siblings finding the magical houses in the forest and using them to camp for the night so he just shrugged and led Prince Charming and the cart to the stable house while Robert and Luke ran inside the two-story bedroom house to play with their toys.

  At first, his brothers asked if they could continue playing with their toy ship in the stream since they didn’t have to get wet and could just watch the ship float by itself but then dark suddenly arrived and the three brothers could hardly see anything outside the houses.

  After Prince Charming was brushed, fed, and watered, Ezekiel joined his brothers in the bedroom house. Robert and Luke were actually playing with their toy armor, shield, sword, and bow and arrows. They were pretending to be part of Luffy’s gang of pirates. Their toy ship was placed on the table and he saw that the spell Tiny Servant on it lapsed already.

  Ezekiel cast the Tiny Servants spell at his brothers' toy ship. He also decided to awaken the butcher knives that were on the cart that they using as their guards so he went to the stable house again and awaken the ten butcher knives. He was so glad that the cooldown of his spell slots was so short since he couldn’t do anything like casting several spells at once in a short amount of time if the cooldown of his spell slots were exactly the same as DnD. Worse was if the cooldown wasn’t actually a cooldown but a need to memorize spells by actually opening a spellbook and memorizing the written spells. That was also the reason why purchasing all of his spells was beneficial to him since because of the short cooldown of his spell slots, he could utilize his spells more efficiently.

  Ezekiel imagined himself as a true mage casting spells left and right as soon as he opened his eyes in the morning and that thought made him smile. He then cast the remaining spells that he usually cast to protect them during their rest like the Arcane Lock spell on their doors, the Alarm Spell surrounding their houses, and the Glyph of Warning Spell in front of the houses paired with the Sleep Spell then he returned to the bedroom house.

  When he entered, Robert and Luke clamored and said that they were hungry so he retrieved their dinner from his 4th tab space and began eating.

  “Can we stay here tomorrow so we can play in the stream?” Robert asked while they were eating and Luke nodded his agreement while shouting “Swim! Swim!”.

  “We will if Luke asked me the same thing in a complete sentence,” Ezekiel decided then that he would begin training Luke to speak in complete sentences since he was aware that their youngest sibling could.

  He didn’t know if it were the correct way since he didn’t know anything about rearing a child but that’s the only thing that Ezekiel could think of to help Luke. Robert looked at Luke with an encouraging look.

  “Can we..stay here tomorrow to play?” Luke asked and since Ezekiel found his brother cute, he immediately hugged him which made the young boy giggle and said that of course, they could stay.

  “You know what, let’s go ahead and go on a vacation here! We’ll stay for two days. I’ll practice my wood crafting and my spells while you play!” Ezekiel announced and this caused his brothers to cheer loudly.

  After dinner, the boys pestered Ezekiel to continue reading the One Piece Manga but this time, he purchased one of those pricy illustrated books for 2 silver coins that had the images of all the characters of the One Piece manga so his brothers would be aware of what the characters look like. His brother knew what the main characters look like since they did have the action figures of the main cast but the illustrated book was complete and even Ezekiel joined his two brothers in reading the book.

  The book contained the back story of the characters and Ezekiel was glad that it was in English so he read each page slowly to his brothers and was very happy at the look of excitement on his brothers' faces. Right now, Ezekiel knew that deep inside, his brothers' happiness was the most important thing in his life, and looking at them at that moment, he was content.
