First of all, thank you so much for reading this series. I hope Emily and Daniel’s journey brings you as much joy as it does for me while writing. Seriously, I appreciate all of you who have taken the time to read and invest in this story.
I know it’s not the usual "dopamine hit" web novel. It’s a slow-burn, introspective, and cerebral journey. The fact that you stuck with it means the world to me.
I have the rest of Volume 3 drafted and ready for first-pass edits as of March 4, 2025.
If there’s enough demand, I can speed up releases to 3-4 chapters per week.
The trade-offs:
? Faster uploads – More content, sooner!
? Less time for polishing – There may be some minor repetition or redundancies.
? Potential hiatus after Volume 3 – If I accelerate releases, I’ll need extra time to draft Volume 4.
So, what do you prefer?
- Keep the current pace?
- Speed things up, knowing there might be a short break after Volume 3?
Let me know in the comments or through the poll—I’ll check in after a week and decide how to move forward.
Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
When I first started writing Reborn as Emily, I imagined it as a typical body-jack story told from a psychological perspective. But as I wrote, the story took on a life of its own.
It became a story about:
- Consciousness & identity – What does it mean to exist as two people in one body?
- Family & love – How far do we go to protect those we care about?
- Gender & self-perception – Is the soul bound to gender, or is it something more?
- Reality & perception – How do we define what is real?
- And… a little secret agent mischief.
Each volume explores a different stage of Emily and Daniel’s evolution:
?? Volume 1 – Identity (Who am I?)
?? Volume 2 – Understanding (How do we coexist?)
?? Volume 3 – Becoming (How do we evolve together?)
?? Volume 4 – Being (What does it mean to truly exist like this?)
I have plans for Volumes 5, 6, and possibly 7 depending on interest.
- Volume 5 will be an interlude.
- Volumes 6 (and maybe 7) will bring the story full circle.
If you want faster releases, I can adjust—but it means less polish and a possible break after Volume 3 so I can catch up on drafting.
Let me know what you think! I’ll decide after a week based on your feedback.
As always—thank you for reading, commenting, and supporting this story. You’re the reason I keep writing.

Should I speed up chapter release?
