Chapter 47 Citadel of Obsidian

In Wanderer's office, Shizuka stood before a holographic map of Sin City, surrounded by other officers. She adjusted her white hair before beginning. "Roughly, we can split the Sin City region into four. We're right now in the north at Obsidian Gate, a city with a district known for its foundries and manufacturing capabilities. This is where our Wanderer's lair is located. “ she said with playful finger gesture. then continue

“In the south, there's Genesis, a city with a district named for the intense genetic experiments conducted there. West of us is City Nexus Prime, the border of the wasteland. It's a place of black markets, where you can find various gangs, like Skull and Jackals. And lastly, in the east is City Ironforge. The Arsenal is already looted by us and Swat in last battle, and most of the buildings are still under repair from the recent war. But there's a chance that Ironforge might hold potential enemies in the future."

Sanada leaned over, studying the holographic map. "Interesting. City Ironforge has been ransacked, which makes it a likely spot for enemies to hide. But the damage also means it might not be a threat for a while. It's a gamble for sure."

"Yes,, urban warfare in ruins is nightmare.. we wont touch that area first." Wanderer nodded.

Chrome chimed in, studying the map as well. "Agreed. We don't want to get bogged down in the ruins of Ironforge. Better to focus our resources elsewhere for now."

"For now, my strategy is to fortify Obsidian Gate and keep the road to Nexus Prime open. If they block our road to Nexus Prime.. we lost access to wasteland goods."

Oboro nodded,. "Smart move. The road to Nexus Prime is essential for us to get supplies from the wasteland. If they block it, we'd be cut off from vital resources."

"Yes.. so that is my entire strategies.. any add?"

Sanada thought for a moment before speaking up. "Looks like a solid plan, boss. But let's not underestimate our enemies. They might have plans of their own. We should keep our guard up and be ready for any unexpected surprises."

"Of course.." Wanderer then looked at the new officer Bronk, the muscle dude. "Do you understand the plan, Bronk?"

Bronk, looked at Wanderer with a serious expression. He nodded and spoke in a gruff voice. "Yeah, I got it. Fortify Obsidian Gate and keep the road to Nexus Prime open. Prevent the enemies from intercepting our supply line. Got it."

"Very good.." Wanderer then tried to stand up from his chair. without his exosuit pants he still partially limp, he then raise his voice

"Let's show these lizard people what truly war is... they will burn and dead ... those dajjal wannabe will learn the taste of justice!"

Sanada chuckled at Wanderer's enthusiasm. "That's the spirit, boss! They won't know what hit them." But as Wanderer tried to stand up from his chair, he stumbled, almost losing his balance.

"Good.." Wanderer then sat back in the chair. "Make us proud... now dismiss..."

Sanada, Chrome, Oboro, and Bronk all saluted and nodded in acknowledgment. "Yes, Boss." They then left the room, ready to carry out Wanderer's orders and protect Obsidian Gate.

Wanderer then walk toward the big windows behind his desk, while Shizuka stood beside him. "Mhmm... you know... I feel more like... CEO than war leader."

Shizuka chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, I can see that. You're more like a CEO, giving orders from a comfortable chair. But you know, there's nothing wrong with being a strategic mind behind the scenes."

"MHMHm... HMHMM!.. But I can't shot my weapon," Wanderer pouted.

Shizuka smirked,. "Aw, don't pout like that. You don't need a weapon to give orders. You have your wit, your tactical mind, and your loyal squad to fight for you. Isn't that enough?"

"You don't understand... the sensation of killing... I mean. Defeating enemy is... unrivaled."

Shizuka chuckled,. "Oh, I get it. There's a rush and satisfaction in personally defeating an enemy. But remember, you're the mastermind, the one guiding us towards victory. You don't have to be on the frontlines to contribute."

  "Hmhh.. lower your head dear."

Shizuka raised an eyebrow at Wanderer's request, but she obeyed, lowering her head. "Okay, what is it?"

  Wanderer patted her head. "Hmhm."

Shizuka chuckled, feeling the unexpected head pat. "You really like patting my head, don't you? I guess it's your way of showing affection."

"Yes... I know its... bit sentimental... I .. still ..see you as the little girl."

Shizuka smiled,. "I know, and I appreciate it. But don't worry, I might be small, but I'm no longer a little girl. I've grown a lot."

",, I know.. I.. still remember face of little girl.. behind.. umm bar. While I visit slave market.. yes.. those innocent eyes.. hmhm.. I.. " Wanderer closed his eyes and then sighed. "You know.. I freed you in the past because.. that.. big eyes.. that.. pure.. angelic eyes."

Shizuka's expression softened,. "Yes, I remember that time too. You freed me when I was just a little girl, a slave on the market. It's true that my eyes were full of innocence and trust. But you also saw something more, didn't you?"

"Oho.. you self aware if you cute in that time huh?"

Shizuka chuckled "Well, I can't deny that I was pretty adorable back then. But let's not digress. We have work to do. It's not the time to reminisce."

  "N-YAAAAHHHHH!"

Shizuka couldn't help but smile wider at Wanderer's sudden outburst. "You know, for a seasoned strategist, you can be quite the dramatic one sometimes."

"Mhmph.. im just the man who need.. .. pampered."

Shizuka's smile grew even broader, amused by Wanderer's demand. "You're a man of many contradictions, aren't you? One moment, you're a fierce commander, giving orders and deploying troops. And the next, you're asking to be pampered like a prince."

  "Yes.. now pat my head!"

Shizuka couldn't help but chuckle. "Alright, alright. Since you asked so nicely." She gently placed her hand on Wanderer's head and started patting it, indulging in his childlike request.

While Thea delved deeper into the mysterious forest, searching for the origin of the shard, Wanderer and his team were hard at work fortifying Sin City and work along side with VDV. They weren't building traditional barricades or walls; instead, they employed a more strategic approach.

The city was outfitted with a network of strategically placed cameras, providing constant surveillance of the streets and alleyways. Explosive charges were concealed in various locations, ready to be detonated at a moment's notice. Designated vehicles were parked along the roads, their interiors converted into mobile firing platforms equipped with heavy weaponry. And in strategic towers and buildings, the team positioned their sharpshooters and turrets,

The goal was to turn Sin City into an impenetrable fortress, a place where the Series 9 would be trapped and destroyed. It was a bold and ambitious plan, but Wanderer was determined to make it work.

Meanwhile, the Series 9 spies, disguised as homeless people, vendors, and workers observed the city's transformation with growing unease. They witnessed the installation of cameras, the hidden explosives, and the deployment of troops. The once bustling city was slowly being transformed into a heavily fortified stronghold.

One of the spies, a young woman named Erinyes, couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss. She'd been watching the city for weeks, gathering information and reporting back to her superiors. But now, she sensed a change, a shift in the balance of power.

"Something's not right," she muttered to herself, her red eyes scanning the city from her vantage point. "They're preparing for something big."

Erinyes on top of her Sports motorcycle She reached for her communicator, her fingers trembling slightly. She couldn't afford to make a mistake.

After a brief silence, her communicator crackled to life, a voice came through.

  "Erinyes, report your situation immediately."

Erinyes took a deep breath, "This is Erinyes, I've been observing Obsidian Gate tower. The situation has changed. They're fortifying the whole city,

There was a pause, and then the voice on the other end spoke again.

"Are you sure? This sounds like they're preparing for something big." Erinyes nodded, her mind racing with information.

"I'm certain. They're taking precautions at every corner, turning Sin City into a fortress. They're scared of something, or someone."

Another pause. Then the voice spoke again,

"This is troubling news. We were aware they had knowledge of our plans, but we didn't expect them to fortified the city like this. We need to accelerate our timeline. We cannot let them prepare any further."

"Understood. I'll keep a watchful eye and report any further developments."

after the communication off. Violence in their dark room. sit and think about next course of action against wanderer

As she leaned back in her chair, her fingers steepled in front of her, a syringe containing a potent elixir caught her eye. The green liquid within promised a temporary respite from the burdens of leadership. With a calculated nod, she injected herself with the substance, feeling its soothing effects wash over her.

In the dim light 4 angel gather, the Lich, his bald head gleaming, chuckled softly. "Now this is more like it," he said, his voice a low rumble.

Violence let out a sigh of relief. "Yes, this is what we need," she replied, her voice a whisper.

The warlord angel, grinned with satisfaction. "Ah, that is better," he said, his tone a mix of amusement and anticipation.

The young angel glanced at the other angels, his expression serious. "This is nothing," he said. "Now, what do we do about Wanderer?"

The Lich angel replied, "We must first observe and evaluate Wanderer's abilities and weaknesses before we make any move against him."

The warlord angel agreed. "Yes, haste can be our downfall."

The Lich angel nodded. "Patience is key. We must understand Wanderer's strengths and weaknesses before we make a move against him."

Violence interjected. "We must also gather more information about Wanderer and his allies. The more we know, the easier it will be to outsmart him."

The commander nodded. "Yes, he has been strengthening his defenses and amassing his forces within Sin City."

The Lich angel continued. "It seems he is indeed preparing for war, and if we were to attack now, we would be walking into a trap."

Violence added, "We cannot underestimate Wanderer. He is a cunning and skilled warrior."

Warlord angel growled in agreement. "We must be subtle and stealthy in our movements. Any small mistake can tip off Wanderer and give him the advantage."

Violence nodded. "We must move with caution and precision. The goal is to gather as much information as we can while avoiding detection."
