Hey y'all, I have some news. It's been about three weeks since my last chapter and I have not written a single thing since. Part of that is life, but the other part has to do with Phoenix directly.

  A few of my fellow authors and friends (, , , to name the big three) have helped me realize some things about my stories.

  For the past little bit of the story, mostly since the middle of the incursion, I have felt lost as to where I want to take this story. When I started writing Phoenix this was the first anything I have written in almost 10 years and so it acted as more of an exercise and proof of concept than anything else. At this point, my desire for where I want Phoenix to be has changed a handful of times, as well as the story itself, and the effort required to bring the story in line would bring the quality too far down for me to be comfortable releasing it.

  With that said, it is with a heavy heart (and no small amount of bandaid ripping) that I have made the decision to put Phoenix, and by extension Magus) on an indefinite hiatus. I'm not dropping the stories by any means, but I want to craft the story from scratch and release something I can be proud of.

  I won't be deleting anything I currently have out so it will still be there, but I will be changing the title when I release the new version. Speaking of the new version, my plan is to start posting once I have a minimum of 10 chapters written and ready to release. I won't redo Magus since he is more solid in the idea I had for him, and early enough to not matter if he wasn't.

  I will still be responding to comments as often as possible so if y'all have any questions please feel free to ask them here!

  Also, I might open my discord channel back up to try and keep people apprised of what's going on so keep an eye out for that if it's something you're interested in.
