Alone: Chapter 4

Message between Reverence and Calvary recovered.

  Dialogue restored…

  Reverence:

Mission Report - Mission was a success, the last yeti is slain on the 4th of Jan, 2018.

  Calvary:

Acknowledged - How did Initiate Mark Esmen perform during the operation?

  Reverence:

Mission Results - Initiate tracked down the creature for a week, performance is satisfactory. However, he did sustain an injury when he confronted the creature. Furthermore, he had smuggled an unauthorised firearm for the mission (Smith & Wesson Model 60). Weapon was brought because it was a family heirloom. Will be deducted points. Another point to make is Initiate Esmen struggled in a close-quarters situation, and will recommend further training once they are inducted into the Legion.

  Calvary:

Negative - This act will often disqualify someone from moving into the Butterfly Legion. His action should not be tolerated regardless of the weapon’s significance.

  Reverence:

Counterpoint - While it is unorthodox to move someone into the Legion due to a violation. I’ll say that he was tasked with a mission that was impossible for a majority of Butterfly Legion units to complete. Historically, we’d sent three units and twenty initiates (all twenty had been inducted into the Legion) in to kill the Yeti and they all came back empty-handed. It took him a week to find the creature and neutralise it. I say that his achievement should be recognised and rewarded.

  Calvary:

Negative - Being part of the Legion should not be given to those who succeeded where others fail. Each Legion has a standard that all must abide to, he had failed to meet those expectations. Initiate Esmen should not be moved to the Legion without any disciplinary action.

  Stolen story; please report.

  Reverence:

Agreed - Disciplinary action should take place within the unit, it was why he was trialling out to be part of Unit 247. We both know that Unit 247 has always taken an unorthodox approach to their missions, it wouldn’t be out of place if he did smuggle in equipment. Operator Jackson Abernu had vouched for Initiate Esmen for his capabilities and will do anything to ensure they join the unit. Even if it would mean Initiate Esmen would need to retake training or face punishment.

  Calvary:

Understood - Unit 247 does need another member to be qualified as part of the Legion, and as of last year they have proven valuable.

  Calvary:

Accepted - Initiate Mark Esmen will be accepted into the ranks of the Butterfly Legion, Unit 247 under the command of Operator Jackson Abernu. He will be recommended for further training and disciplinary action that the unit sees fit.

  Calvary:

Clarification - I will also add that for Mark to be part of the unit, the unit will also need to expand its membership in the next two years if it wishes to remain operational. If Operator Abernu wishes to have a unit function to his liking, we demand that he fits our criteria. Initiate Esmen will be in the Legion, but we will not view him as capable as any who joined the Legion. It is clear that his skills are comparable to a support role than an actual Operator.

  Reverence:

Acknowledged - We will deliver the news to Initiate Esmen and Unit 247.

  Calvary

Closing Log - Signing off, Keepers of the Dark.

Which should be the next story?
