Grains of sand broke off from the current that surrounded the massive Castle like clock that stood high above the rest of the Realm of Time. The sand swirled around in the middle of the floor. Aeryn spun around at the sound of the heavy current and scurried off toward the commotion. The sight that formed in front of him left him terrified and stuck in an instant panic. The gains of sand had begun to take the form of Katie, with a very weakened Brent laying in her arms. “No! No no. . “ Continued for a moment, mumbling the word on his breath as he fell to one knee next to the injured mortal. His eyes came to focus on the blood stain that covered a large part of the Bottom half of Brent’s shirt. ”He was shot? How did this happen?” He asked Katie with a concerned look on his face.”Chris! I need your help again” He shouted. Beckoning to the great deity.
“He was shot!” Katie replied, struggling to hold back the tears that streamed from her face. “In the wheat and Barley fields. By my ex boyfriend. . “ Katie trailed off for a moment, closing her eyes and wiping tears from her cheeks. ”I need help and fast. I know I couldn’t get him to a hospital in time, so I brought him here. I didn’t know what else to do. You’re a Doctor, You have to help him!” She screamed through the tears.
“Let me see if I can help.” Chris said, his eyes scanning the torso of the injured mortal. He paused for a minute to listen closely to the surroundings. Off in the distance he could hear several footsteps almost in complete sync.” They’re coming. That means there's nothing I can do. This has to happen. I’m Aeryn, You heard Kronos’s rules. We’re not allowed to intervene in anyone Else’s field.”
“Whose coming?” Katie cried out in response, gently stroking Brent’s hair. A smile came across the weakened mortal’s face as he stared up at Katie. “Why can’t you help? What’s wrong?”
“Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. The Sisters.” Aeryn muttered with a puzzled look on his face. Katie flashed the doctor a confused look. “If they’re here then it’s meant to happen. We can’t save him.” Aeryn gave them a look of defeat, his head dropping and his eyes focusing on the ground.

“This isn’t how it’s supposed to happen!” the three voices all shouted at once. “Not in their timeline. You’ve left us no choice!”
“You met them once Katie, back before this started.” Aeryn said, glancing back at the long and narrow walkway that stretched outside the Castle like clock. ”They were in the office when you first came in to see me.”
“Ohhhh!” Katie pondered closely trying to recall the first time she’d set foot in Dr. Love’s Office. She glanced down at Brent, who was still holding onto the bottle of pills in his hand. Slowly, the cogs began to turn in her head. There had to be something she could do. Brent’s grip on the bottle weakened and the bottle itself almost rolled out of his hands. Katie Desperately grabbed it.
“I’ve got it!” Aeryn shouted, looking back up at the walk way. The Sisters were getting closer and closer. “You both need to think about it. Another time. . A time in your past where you might be able to fix things.
“I guess I don’t have any choice.” Katie said, taking the bottle from her own purse, and staring at it. She quickly moved to take the top off of the prescription bottle. She tried to summon up another memory. A memory of a long forgotten love. She took a pill and curled Brent’s weakened fingers around it. The sister made their way into the tower, all three of them at once, taking a knee next to the injured mortal. Brent seemed unresponsive and barely held onto the pill. The Sister’s hovered their hands over the mortal. His life was depleting. One of the sisters reached into Brent’s heart and lifted a tightly knotted string from within his chest. The other sister in her old and fragile state, removed a pair of scissors from her cloak. As she lifted the string from Brent’s chest another string appeared from inside Katie’s chest. ”I’m sorry. .” she said, pushing the pill between her lips.
As the blades grazed the string carefully, they closed the gap between the scissors. Something went wrong though. The Scissors barely missed the strings. The tightly woven knot did not budge. “What the?” Laci shouted. They glance down at the mortal man, whose hands dropped to his sides. The pill bottle was still weakly held between Brent’s fingers. Not even seconds later, the sand grains peeled off and floated away on the currents of the Realm of Time.
“That was close Doctor” The Sisters said all shooting Aeryn a look of relief. “We would have had to report this to Kronos. You were almost disqualified. Consider yourself fortunate that you’re still in this.” They each said rising to their feet. “You’re not allowed to intrude on another being’s field of work. We won’t be so kind next time.”
