★ Interlude ★
Hi y'all.
The previous chapter marks the end of my backlog for Act I, and I'm taking a much-needed mental health break. Don't worry, though; this isn't goodbye. Instead, I'm taking time off to rest, recharge, spend time with my family, and get back into a creative mindset. Since I prefer to pre-write lots of content at a time (it helps with continuity and takes advantage of each creative wave) I'm going to spend some time drafting and editing the next 20 chapters or so. I've got all of them outlined and some already have loose rough drafts, so I'm hoping this won't take long. I can't wait to share the plans I've got for all of the different storylines and the ways in which they merge and diverge.
This isn't goodbye. It's me taking a breather.
I'm also dropping a poll down below. As you probably know, I'm a huge fan of print editions, and I'd love to release this series that way. However, that's difficult to manage when it comes to serials with monster word counts, so what I've thought about doing is releasing this story in a series of mini-volumes of around 40-60k words each (roughly 20 chapters at a time). These wouldn't be complete novels, but rather small, compact volumes that provide a way for this story to fit on your bookshelf. If that's something that interests you, please answer accordingly (and if not, that's perfectly fine too).
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.
Oh, and I'm always down for review swaps or shout-outs. If you're interested, feel free to send me a DM.
Anyway, if you'd like to drop a comment with any suggestions, ideas, or just to say hi, please do! I'd love to hear from you. And if you'd like to be notified of future chapter releases, don't forget to hit the "follow" button so you see new chapters as soon as they're live.
As always, there's so much more to come.
Thanks for being here and going with me on this crazy writing adventure.
Bonus: Since each interlude should serve a purpose, here's a random piece of backstory. While all of my characters are loosely inspired by real people or historic events, only one of them is based almost entirely on a real person. And they are... (click on the spoiler below to find out)
