On a leash:
Obsidian cruises through the darkness of the void. He’s currently watching tv now, just trying to pass the time. Strangely he insists on wearing shades in his ship. Obsidian starts coughing again, his cough sounds terrible, like he might spit up a lung. He heads to the bathroom in his ship. After a while he finally enters Gamma Bright. He comes out of his room fully geared up. He sits in his captain's chair and puts in the secure communications code. The console takes a bit. Then someone picks up.
“Hello, hello, is this the contractor.” A wealthy but aged sounding voice connects to the line.
“Yes, this is the page hunter speaking.” Obsidian replies
“My apologies, I’m not used to this sort of business. Are there any protocols or things I should know about before proceeding.” Responds the client
“No. Obsidian Praw. Pleasure doing business with you.”
“As to you. You may call me Para Dorado; I look forward to our meeting.” The client says gleefully.
“Same here.” Obsidian returns
The call is hung up, and Obsidian blasts off to the predetermined location.
From Mr. Para’s perspective.
We see a good-looking man with tan skin, and light faded blonde hair. He sports a fancy mustache, and a black and gold suit. He pushes a button on his phone pad.
“Dear, it seems we’re getting the proper help we requested.” Mr. Dorado speaks to his wife, who’s reading a hardback book, on a couch a little away from Para’s desk.
“That’s great love, I was worried our little boy wouldn’t get his wish.” Ms. Dorado says looking up from her book.
The young master, the son of the Dorado’s, lays on his head on his mother's lap while playing a game on his phone.
“Mother, I'm not you little boy anymore. Father, does that mean, we don’t have to worry about those assassins anymore.” The boy asks
“No, my boy, if all things go well, my hands will be free.” Para calms his worries.
“Who’s this mercenary you hired?” The young master says a little excited
“We shall see, my boy. But I believe he’ll be a treat.” The father answers
“I can’t wait!” The boy says delighted
A day later, the Dorado’s sit in the father’s office awaiting their new bodyguard. The mother and son sit up-right and proper as they wait. They hear some chatter on the outside suddenly a tall man phases through the door, surprising everyone. The man sits down from across Ms. Dorado as he rests his arms on the head of the couch, crossing his legs. Ms. Dorado, kindly waves at the man and so does her son sit right next to her. Then the door opens. “My lord, this is the page hunter, Obsidian Praw. It seems he was a little impatient.” Says one of the guards
“I see, that’s fine, you may leave us.” Mr. Dorado says
“Yes, my lord.” The guard leaves.
“Welcome, dear guest, I hope you find my abode comfortable.” Ms. Dorado greets.
“It’s too bright, but the infrastructure is sturdy.” Obsidian analysis
“Oh, I appreciate your input. Well then, I will have some snacks and refreshments and– “
“No need.” Obsidian cuts off Para
“I see. Well then, in that case, let us begin.”
“Mother can I.” The son seems to want something from his mother

The boy's mother looks at Obsidians, she stares, and then she looks back to her son and nods. The young son of Dorado’s gets up and sits next to Obsidian
“Hello, my name is Midas.” The young master puts out his hand.
Obsidian doesn’t shake it.
“Say, your quite tall mister.” Midas compliments
“For you.” Obsidian responds dismissively
“Oh... well, I also believe your coat is really well made.” Midas tries to make a good first impression.
Obsidian side eyes the boy.
“It’s made from iron horn hide and armored in titanic alloy.” Obsidian explains to the boy
“Whoa, that’s amazing mister.”
Midas smiles widely. Showing off his pearly white teeth
Once Mr. Dorado is done watching his son get along with the page hunter, he clears his throat to get everyone's attention. For the next ten minutes, the father lays out planned assignments. For the next week, the senator will be preparing to leave the Gamma Bright sector. Until the final day, Obsidian must protect the Dorados from enemy attack and potential assassination. As he knows the Revolutionary force, the Revoltors, have been attempting to take the life of Mr. Dorado. However unsure, he assumes that the Revoltors either want to send a message or have a more beneficial power taking his place. Regardless, the only thing that should matter to the page hunter is that there will be payment.
We zoom outside of the mansion. We see that the Mansion, bright gold with white pillars, is on top of a hill, that’s been converted into a grand casino. From sky scrapper about the same height as the mansion, on the top floor, a man looks through a sniper scope. Then translucent disks form in the air. They create a pattern that leads straight to his target. The sniper takes aim. Ready to fire. As he prepares to pull the trigger.
However, when we see his face, we also see Obsidian is right behind him, squatting down. Obsidian gets up and walks over, raising his boot. But before he can crush this assassin, he pulls the trigger immediately, and the translucent plate, redirect the round right back to Obsidian. Obsidian ducks the bullet, but the elderly sniper, hops off the building, turning mid-air to snipe Obsidian.
Obsidian redirects the round with a portal, redirecting the bullet at the assassin, who then uses his ability deflect it the side of the building. The man starts zipping through the air, bouncing of his disks at great speeds. He slows his momentum with his disks and starts running on building tops. He activates a distress call on his gauntlet. The man jumps from one building to another while hopping on his plates, but then a portal opens below him, and he ends up falling right to Obsidian. The man bounces away, but Obsidian teleports to catch him, grabbing him by the face and slamming him on the street. Obsidian goes to bury his face in the cement with a punch, but his punch gets deflected. Obsidians fist is sent flying back, and the sniper uses the opening to shoot Obsidian, but he stops the bullet in midair right before it hits him, and charges his fist with a purple aura, and shattering the deflection disks, caving the man's face in.
When the sniper comes to, his elderly face mangled, he’s in a dark alley, and the man who slammed him, squatted in front of him.
“Hwoo, boy, you got me good.” The sniper says.
“Call your commander.” Says Obsidian
“Well sonny, I don’t think I can do that now.” The elderly man says in a thick accent.
“That’s fine for now. I know at least 600 ways to torture you until you talk.” Obsidian says coldly
“Yow! Not a very merciful man, aren’t ya.” The sniper says coyly
Obsidian teleports a micro drill into his hands.
“I’ll count down from ten.” Obsidian warns
“10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2… 1”
Obsidian teleports back to the Dorado’s office. The family seemed to have been anxiously waiting.
“Ah, you’re back.” Greets, Mr. Dorado
Midas walk over to Obsidian.
“If I may ask, how’d you do that! You vanished into thin air! Ahem, it was quite impressive.” He clears his throat to temp his excitement.
Obsidian looks down and sees the beaming light in Midas’ eyes, its blinding.
“Never seen a spacial user before.” Obsidian question
“No sir.” Midas says smiling
“Hm.” Obsidian says a little dismissive
“Dorado, I encountered a sniper, he was highly skilled. I failed to extract any important information. He died before he talked.” Obsidian informs Mr. Dorado of his encounter.
“I see, well I'm grateful for your efforts. My deepest apologies for involving you so early.” Mr. Dorado bows
“No need sir. That’s the job.” Obsidian deflects the unneeded apologies.
“Um mister, I have a request.” Midas pulls on Obsidians coat.
Obsidian looks back down at the boy.
“What.” He furls an eyebrow
“I wish to see your equipment. You are a mercenary yes, then you must have very intricate gears, possibly even a ship.” Midas can barely contain himself
“No.” Obsidian says coldly.
Midas wide smile wans a bit.
“Oh, my apologies. But I really want to see what it’s like to be a real mercenary. It must be awesome, like the shows I’ve seen. So please, mister, can I see your equipment.” Midas says spoiled
Obsidian pauses for an uncomfortable second, staring at the kid. His brows curled, seemingly a little overwhelmed by the kid's energy. “No. You're beginning to annoy me.” he says heartlessly
“Oh, I see, my apologies.” Midas walks back to his mother, trying to hide disappointment.
“I understand you may be uncomfortable here but try to speak carefully around my son.” Mr. Dorado sternly expresses his worries of Obsidian’s personality.
Obsidian glares at Dorado, his brows curl in annoyance. But he loosens up.
“You’re right, I’ll be more respectful towards your family.” Obsidian puts a fist to his chest and salutes.
“I thank you. Now then, if we have no further interruption, I’ll have my friend Ben escort you to your staying quarters.”
The family butler, Ben, walks up and ushers Obsidian to follow him.
“Ahh, one more thing, Mr. Praw.” Dorado tries to catch him before he leaves
“Obsidian.” He corrects
“Mr. Obsidian, I need to give you one more objective.” Mr. Dorado says
“Shoot.” Obsidian listens
“Please, protect my son, above all else. I love my boy, more than anything in this suffering universe, and I know, one day, my boy will ease that pain, even if it’s just a bit. Can I count on you?” He puts a hand on Obsidians shoulder.
“If you so wish, I will comply. However, I will ensure none of you come to harm, so your worries are unnecessary.” Obsidian walks off with butler ben
“Sometimes, events remain out of our control.”
Obsidian and the butlers arrive at Obsidians room for the week.
“Your room, sir.” Ben usher Obsidian in.
Obsidian walks in and locks the door. He then roles back his sleeve to show one of his hi-tech gauntlets. Activating his ship. He then teleports away.
We shift perspectives quickly.
Two men walk down an alleyway. With flashlights in hand, they investigate the area. The men then walk upon a horrifying scene. Their friend, brutalized, covered in gore, missing his limbs, his eyes, his teeth, his nose, his stomach is open, and he’s gagged, to drown the screams. One of the men goes to throw up.
Soldier 1: “Commander, we found Lieutenant Ire. He’s been tortured to death.”
Commander: “damn it! What the Lieutenant running from, the devil!”
Soldier 1: “from what I see. But my guess, a page hunters involved. No one on Umbra is this… violent.” The soldier closes his eyes, as his face scrunches in pain.
Commander: “I see, that’s a reasonable assumption, we wasted too much time, and this is the price. I’ll send some men to collect our old friend. You two take some time off.”
Soldier 1: “thank you sir. I wish we got here faster.”
Commander: “as do I. We can only mourn and keep moving forward. Heibarn out.”
The soldier sheds a single tear and he and his partner walk out of the alley.
