“Please remain still as we calibrate your avatar!” a woman’s voice echoes in Noyena’s head “You are now calibrated, here are the class options based on your profiles previous gaming stats”
“Well, that’s a first, let’s see here, I can be a hunter, gunslinger, magi, dark paladin, juggernaut, ninja” she was rapidly scrolling through the different class options astounding at the sheer volume of classes she wondered to herself “is there anything I can’t be jeez?” This got her a bit aggravated, she thought usually when devs tried to do too much they ended up hurting the game, but the voice said these choices are based on her previous gaming stats, but what exactly did that means scoffed ‘I am a genius when it comes to any game.’ This wasn’t just hyperbole, in fact she had secretly won 10 major video game championships in different disciplines all in physical disguise, there was only a handful of people who knew exactly who she was. Even those competitions were entered on a whim because she was bored and they were regionally close. She soon stopped scrolling when she came across a class that she had never seen before in any game. “Enlightened? What is this, you know what!? I’ll give this a shot if it gets too boring, I’ll just change later.” There was no major description just a flavor text that seemed cool she thought: For those who seek the heights of Nirvana, inner peace is simple, but bringing peace to all is a challenge fought in the shadows, yet shines in the Light
With a smile she took the Enlightened class, her main thoughts focused on the flavor texts ‘sounds cool, like I can be the hero of this world or something.’ She verbalized her next thought haphazardly; “this is probably going to be geared towards a support magic class or something, that tends to be my RNG luck with these things.”
“You have selected the ‘Enlightened’ class is that correct?”
“Yes, ma’am let’s get this party started”
“Welcome to Landis Fall”
With that, Noyena falls into a beam of technicolor lights. As the lights dispersed, she is faced with a post ruinous city, with a tattered sign that read “Welcome to Landis City: Population Fluctuates!” [Population fluctuates what the hell does that mean?] As she perseverated for a bit on the whole population thing, Noyena was internalizing what her first move should be: “should I go see what that city is all about, or there’s that desert over there looks quite promising; decisions, decisions…” Her mind was made up quickly “okay desert it is, then I’ll head to the city with the fluctuating population after I grind a few levels figure some things out.” Noyena as a seasoned gamer new that going directly to the first town would definitely provide her with some sort tutorial quest for medial levels and experience, but she saw an open world with choices, combat first was her prevailing instinct, so Noyena set off on her self-called “Pre-First City level grind because, why wouldn’t I? and I have a class that I have no idea what it does adventure” (It was a mouthful)
Noyena finds herself drifting away from the city, further into the dessert she spawned in. She didn’t know that because of her class choice she did not spawn in the middle of the city like everyone else. (In fact, she was not aware that there was only a limited amount of people that could pick the class that she had chosen or the very implications of that choice.) As she walks through the desert, she can’t help but notice how intense the heat she feels is: ‘I feel like I’m actually sweating’ as soon as the thought graced her mind her clothes change to something more suitable for desert adventuring. *Notice Radiation Increasing* “Oh shit!” She gasps, then ponders “radiation?! Why did I think this was just a regular desert? I wish I had something to deal with this heat and radiation.” Just as before her, as if by the RNG God of miracles, her clothes changed. “W-what?” Her request, not that she had made one out loud, was answered as if she could materialize anything she needed in each moment; at least clothes wise, from what she could tell. *Alert Enemy incoming* “Alright here we go!” She cheered, finally her anticipation was about to be quenched. She loved the thrill of the battle in these games, her freedom of movement without impediment and the possibility of harm just a hairsbreadth away. While in the middle of her own personal reverie of joy she made a tremendous observation. “No weapons, crap, I just went out to the field.” Not that it did much for her to complain at this point, this game didn’t give her a starter weapon of any kind that she could recall, “maybe it’s just the class I picked?” she wondered to herself, and then the ground beneath Noyena’s feet began to rumble, “please be a bunch of small things and not one big thing?” Noyena above all was confident in her ability to infight and dash, a strategy that works well on a bunch of little things because she can kill them while on the run she gathered. This of course works on big things as well but typically didn’t lead to the most amount of damage, and she’s unarmed so there’s that. “Damn, I could really use a sword right now.” This last thought was really a test as she wanted to gauge the extent of her powers to materialize, and sure enough the hilt of a sword materializes in her hand. *Schwoon* the light sword activates, Noyena’s eyes widen “Nice” she waves it around a couple times admiring how it sounds just like a Light Saber, then turns her attention to the extremely large scorpion snake looking hybrid beast that appeared out of the sand.

*Alert* Unique Enemy Sinkarah the Desert Feind
There was a certain elation on Noyena’s face that bordered on diabolical. She is without a doubt the ultimate battle junky. Most players in this same situation would run due to lack of everything (you know equipment, levels, experience, the basics), but Noyena is of a different breed. All of this was picture perfect, she was able to materialize a light sword, she had something protecting her from radiation and heat whether it gave her any defense buffs she’d check later. She had a Unique Enemy in front of her, presumably the first time anyone has encountered it, and this all in her Landis Falls debut. “Hehe, the RNG Gods love me today!” Her delight exuded from her very essence. She was able to check a couple boxes, first: she could make any clothing to fit and combat any environment, second: she could materialize a weapon, what that was limited too she decided to check later. For now, she had a battle in front of her, one of which she was going to figure out on the fly.
Sinkarah let out a screech before skittering across the sand towards Noyena. It’s speed nothing to scoff at left a cloud of sand and radiation particles in its wake. Noyena beaming at the sight, was simply impressed by the fluidity of the giant beast movements and then did a long doge roll to the left narrowly escaping vice like pincers. As she started collecting herself, she saw a glint and had to push as hard as she could off her right foot just to dodge the strike of the snakes, head where a scorpion’s stinger would normally be. Then like a gymnast Noyena pulled four consecutive backflips to create space between her and her enemy. “Ok,” she took a second to gather herself *Hisssk a cobra like hood opened on the snake headed tail “Now what?” Realizing she has been on the run this whole fight she had a feeling what was about to happen. Just like a King Cobra the head started spitting volleys of greenish purple goop at Noyena. “Gross!” She had anticipated the action and decided to press the attack, remaining wary of the scorpion body, realizing she never really paid attention to what bugs could do. As if reading her mind the scorpion portion of Sinkrah started to make a move, like doing a handstand it lifted the tail end way in the air while leading with its pincers, and then let out a gust of air as if it were an exhaust. Then after a brief pause it commenced its attack, “what is this?” Noyena screamed as she ran, avoiding all projectiles and blows thrown her way, searching for an opening to strike. “There it is" her eyes glinted, her opening appeared as if a parting of the clouds and she ducked in and struck *Super Critical her light sword did an extreme amount of damage so much so that even Noyena was shocked ‘Aren’t I only level one?’ she asked herself thoroughly confused, *Super Critical, *Super Critical, *Super Critical *You have defeated the Unique Enemy Sinkrah the Desert Fiend
*Level Up
“Yes, that was awesome, and I leveled up, I’ll check my stats then head over to the city.” Her heart was beating rapidly as she looked off in the distance, the cityscape a haze against the heatwaves of the desert. When she opened her stats window, she started to choke a little bit:
Name: Snowfall Class: Enlightened (unlocked) Lvl: 10%

Mana xx9999
Defense xx9999
Offense xx9999

DPS xx9999
- DPS All statuses inflicted are permanent unless deactivated by user
‘What in the world are these stats? it’s like I got Issekie’d or something, this can’t be right.’ Noyena was visably flustered. ‘Like are these my base stats or what? I’m so confused’ her thoughts were in complete disarray. “The system just said I leveled up but my status says level 10%, what does that mean…?” Noyena had never seen anything link this before from her understanding usually only the experience point gauge should go up by percentages, yet she didn’t even have one of those. “Are my stats completely maxed out? It says xx9999 what does that even mean?” she started to panic as she continued to read. “And DPS, why is that like a base stat? I need to figure this out. What happens when I activate shadow stats? Might as well see what it does.”
When Noyena activated shadow stats what she discovered was interesting. The description said:
By evaluating your commonly used abilities create a pseudo-class to hide your class from other players, this skill can be forged through diligent espionage
there was red text that Noyena new to be special at the end of the main description that said:
A gift for those deemed worthy of enlightenment
This was the first time Noyena realized there was something special about the class she picked. Wondering why she would need to be a spy, she activated the shadow stats skill generating a pseudo-class with “normalized” stats, and begrudgingly for Noyena, the class generated was Light Mage.
Name: Snowfall Class: Light Mage Lvl: 5
Health 500
Mana 450
Defense 700
Offense 200
DPS 350
- Skills Light Magic (Holy Ray), Light Magic (Light Sword), Light Shield, Healing Magic
‘Well with this at least people will think I’m normal when they check my stats right?’ Noyena thinks to herself. ‘If anyone see’s my real stats I’m totally screwed, and I don’t have time to answer questions I don’t know the answer too; also, is Light Mage like my secondary class or just the class fabricated by shadow stats? Oh well let’s get over to that town Landis Fall and see what’s going on there.’ She resolves herself and starts towards the town.
